Easiest way to fit the fiddly rubber port cover is to rotate your thumb as you push, like moving a PS controller thumbstick around in circles.

Garden in my new house had a Similar sized plot to the OPs.
Fine when we moved in (winter) but realised the problem in summer. Luckily I was going to add land drains and landscape the garden/clay soil lawn anyway. I’ve almost irradiated the MT by removing 12 inch depth of topsoil, adding a layer of new soil on top of a non woven geotextile fabric bonded to oak sleeper boarder sat on 8 inch grano bed and the rest of the patio is on a semi bound mix. I still get the occasional shoot coming through from next door neighbour but I leave that until it’s fully grown/turning brown before I pluck it. Did the same on the front lawn and haven’t had any shoots in about 7years 💪

I experimented with 123 on a dark brown external upvc door after painting kitchen cupboards with it.
The door was going to be changed but 5 years later it’s still looking good even though it’s south facing.
You need to work fast with it as it goes off pretty quick and from memory you need a specific brush cleaner.

The Zinsser help line offers very knowledgeable advice 👍

I drylined my bathroom with green board and it’s a messy job for an amateur so I would put the tiles down last.
Also rest the boards on an off cut off greenboard + the depth of tile/ adhesive and remove when dotdab adhesive has set. This will help avoid any water being sucked up into the board and ruining it.

I own a 27.2 xfusion manic stealth which replaced a brandx ascend with external routing.
No noticeable difference between them than the obvious.

I lost most of my vision in R eye 15yrs ago due to a tear near the optic nerve and detached retina and what sight I do have in it is sqewif due to damage to the lense it’s bloody annoying when riding as I see 2x technical trail features where there is only 1 🙁
Had the flashing in my good eye after an up lift day and went straight to hospital few years ago but they said all was fine, it’s happened twice since with no Ill effects.
What I have developed is a couple of floaters that I am told are freckles on my retina and a common problem.
Was told almost 2 years ago I need cataract op on both eyes but then Covid happened.

I’ve had this problem in the past, used the ‘hook’ side of some sticky Velcro to protect the CS and it did a good job of brushing off excess mud as well 😉.

Also, a good way of measuring small inaccessible gaps is to stick a hex key in it, a 6mm hex = a 6mm gap 👍

Had been given an old banana bag, made a gallows bracket by bolting 50mm angle iron together) and used several epoxy anchor bolts to attach it to brick gable end. Even so I’m still a bit concerned with the weight so may use a lighter filling, thinking of a sausage of carpet/underlay/bags of sand in the middle.
Also built a basic wooden frame with cheap plastic roofing sheet and use a ‘garden furniture’ cover sheet to protect it from the worst of the weather.

Have seen videos of people using old car tyres to make DIY all weather uppercut punchbags and may give that a go in the future.

Found a dewalt sliding mitre saw in a skip with the flex cut off last week, figured I would take it apart and see if the motor had burned out as they can be replaced relatively cheaply.
Nothing suspect found so I added a new flex and it works perfectly, even the blades decent.

    I love skip dipping.

Sorry can’t remember details but heard an expert state recently that if Russia was to maintain control long term in the face of guerrilla warfare it would need over 600000 boots on the ground and it doesn’t have that resource.
Fingers crossed this is the end of putin and all those connected.

It’s possible to sell high price items on eBay and avoid all fees but you have to have a gentlemans agreement with the buyer.

In the past I’ve ‘sold’ a £1500 frame, then relished it for £3000 with comically bad pics, no takers thankfully 😁

I would use ready mix concrete, company you order it from will work out what volume/type you need.
Simple wooden shuttering frame to pour into and tamp down and your done.

I’ve got a small hoard of retro stuff I’ve picked up over the years sitting in the loft as a ‘nest egg’ with a few wenger knives. One of which is the voyager model in mint condition. I picked 7 up in a car boot bundle for a cool £5, current price for a used voyager is either side of £400 depending on the weather.

    Mines MINT 😎

We bought an ikea memory foam topped pocket mattress because it came with a no quibble 25 year guarantee, 2 years latter the top layer of foam ripped and the exposed springs poked me in the Jacksie.
Ikea sent a rep round and on investigation I was told some BS that the guarantee was void due to excessive use for my weight (15st)

    25yr guarantee? MY ARSE.

We now take note of any comfortable mattresses when we stop in hotels, spending a full/few nights on a mattress is better than a quick bounce in a show room.

Happily ride my 130mm LLS HT on most stuff, Y DU at Stiniog, the reds at revolution and a couple of the Pearce tracks (Hopton/bringewood)

Might not be the fastest but it puts a big grin on my mush.

90% of my riding is local woods/BWs, I sometimes feel overbiked.

Im a fan of M.O.D issue boots had a few different makes.
Altberg soles don’t last long enough to justify their price and as nice as haix boots are I much prefer these atm…

    Newish house ?
First step I would take is to check the frames are square, level ,plumb.
Then check the width of the frames.
If your incredibly lucky and the frames have been installed by a decent joiner the doors may just slot in and all you need to do is fit hinge/handle.

I’ve tried smith ‘rip and roll’, tear offs and even gaffer taping an old lenses to a full face to elongate the visor MX style, in the end I just accepted that lenses will get scratched and bought cheap aftermarket versions from then on.

Silicone modeling tubing cans be used for adding tubeless sealant and brake fluid but is also good for stopping frame rub if you slip a bit over a cable and is easier to use than grommets for internal run cables or stealth dropper cables.
