Only have SPD's on roadbike (SL) and singlespeed, proper mountainbike(s) on flats. SPD's on SS is only cos my feet kept slipping of pedals stomping on tricky uphills.

on my back 😐 Not as much stuff in it as last years C2C probably just over half of the bag full as packed well but a lot of weight with the 3 litre bladder in there.

Im pikey (ghetto) through and through on all bikes I have – Mavic 317s – dont bother with the soap n track pump method – just use co2 and both are done and dusted within half an hour. But experience tells me that I need to at least get the tyres tubeless!!

I ride with a guy that has tubeless rims n tyres but does not believe in putting any sealant in…. I think hes nuts but others may agree…..!

naokfreek – take em out and stick em in hot water for a bit, then pull out the rubber shite.

agree with rat – only certain tyres are any good for non tubeless…uh… tubeless – vertical pros are the only ones that worked for me – otherwise ALLWAYS go UST! 8)

Bin the mountain kings and get some proper UST/LUST's – Mountain kings in non UST are pretty cack and porous, there will also no doubt be loads of stans wasted at the sides.

LUST ignitor 2.35's get my vote!

If in bivvy you should be ok if you can handle a hard surface, I like a (little) bit of comfort so have a wee airic – depending how big your mat is you might be able to wrap around frame.

fekking weather, link says reasonable temp so not sure what to wear now…. gillet and long sleeve, lightweight waterproof sweatbag, etc…. think gillet and long sleeve will win. As long as you keep moving you wont get cold. waterproof 3/4attacks? Hate wet arse crack!

    hmmmmmmmmmm ?

They are average in the wet/mud and wear down quick when used a lot in mud/hills (not 6hrs full ride) – only stick them in when hot n dry (kevlar) and they are ace in my M4s. If wet/muddy stick the sintered in, they last ages and some people just stick with them full time.

You can do all of PPDS/Morzine/Les Gets on pretty much anything. If you go off and find other trails is where you might get into difficulties 😈

SS Kevlar are good (funkin awesome) in the dry – otherwise stick to sintered.

I do a lot of riding up rivvi and would love to catch these doing this sort of stuff. If its not nails then just where the stone path starts they push the grass over and put rocks down in the hope you will come off. There is a difference between not liking people sharing these locations on bikes and potentially injuring people an their livelyhoods etc.

They put stones across the bit at the start of where you go over to great hill and turn left to lead miners aswell. Some miserable fekkers about.
