The shop who processed your claim with Spesh have your new rim and have been paid by Spesh to rebuild your broken wheel.

They have taken on the job and have they money for doing the job but have not actually done it.

I can’t see how that’s the fault of Specialized

My preference is for Shimano sp41 outer with sram pitstop inner cable.

Sram inners are .1 smaller and far cheaper than optislick

Imo the coating on Shimano brown cables rubs off and jams up bikes with internal cable routing. fine for full casing bikes though

    It’s probably  Specialized mindset headset.
    Google for removal guides.

if your lucky the cups will come out with lots of force but they can require lots lots of beating.

Two local pharmacies told me they did not have space to take step dads left over drugs after his death. Yet both went off the deep end when I said shall I just put them in the bin then.

Sounds like an older Chosen hub , often rebranded by Stans as ZTR , Wiggle ? and many others

It’s not uncommon on cheap bikes and
as  above a better QR is normally all that’s needed.

Genuine Shimano ones have a much better clamping force

Many Specialized road bikes came like that from new and as above keeps things away from the head tube.

Split pin is the upgrade for the threaded pin.

I’m fed up of drilling out the threaded pins when they seize in place or get rounded off by people especially the road ones with the flat slot

I was looking some of the racks and axle mounts at lunchtime but can’t quite justify the £££

    but it’s a neat solution

Pre freewheel Saracen used to make lots of good well priced jump bikes

xcell excess xtort maybe more my memory is poor.

cheap and fun but not really relevant as that was a very different company and brand to now

Have you taken the old ones out to measure  them , the diverge has a few different versions over the years. Those P08f and p21 won’t fit the diverge with the future shock spring thing under the stem

My two favourite bikes use Dura ace 7800 and 9120

I’ve got a good stash of parts for both except chainsets as they don’t fail ? Opps Shimano recall.

cheaper parts will be available for a long time for both bikes but I like what I have and want to keep them the same.

just have to keep looking and still some bargains around

The new immediate payment option has saved me from most of the muppets on my eBay sales. best thing eBay has done in ages

I thought I had a problem but that spares wall makes my stash of parts look very amateurish. It’s the piles of used tat that I have more a problem with

Not familiar with nukeproof but if it has one guide/ grommet for all three cables , are all three holes the same size ?

New ratchets about £35 should fix it if you want to keep the wheels and they are not under warranty

Hard to see from the pic but looks like a Di2 plug to blank off unused ports ?

the shifters have a cable connector under the hoods

    Giant headset shims  ?
they used to come with lots of giant frames so you could fit a normal headset instead of a ZS one ?

Is the right hand end cap a left or right hand thread ? It may say on it.

many of those OE fit hubs have a hole drilled through the axle on the left hand side and a thread on cap on the drive side that needs to be unscrewed clockwise

Thanks. I was confusing the larger rollers of the flat top with chain pitch.
And am now off down my own rabbit hole of vintage Shimano oddness.

The sram 12 speed road bike stuff uses a different chain , called flat top by sram.
    It has a different pitch.

But I’ve not tried mixing bits myself.

The Halfords scheme has quite a high commission for shops so you may struggle for anything other than RRP unless it’s the manufacturer that’s reduced the price

    Robbing lying dishonest oxygen thief’s

Just not worth the stress of trying to deal with them.

Sadly for many sellers and businesses they are the lowest cost and we as the consumer get shafted

5800 105 was also available in silver but that’s 11 speed so might fit your wheel.
And is a bit of a step down from the 7800 10 speed stuff but much newer

Shimano dura ace 7800 group not sure about tan hoods being available but the 7800 works very well and is all shiny high polished finish.

    From above

For cutting inners and outers: Knipex 95 61 150 Bowden Cable Wire Rope Cutter

For crimping cable ends, Knipex Plier Wrench 125mm

just works or knipex side cutters for cutting if space is tighter.

If it’s just the cable you want to change you may get away without talking the cover off. The small hole to the left of the stuck bolt is the set screw that clamps the cable

It’s a suntour part and is less than £10 on eBay.

I’d try a torx bit hammered in first but once the plastic cap is cut away it should be easy to remove the knackered bolt.

Is the chain the right way round with the writing on the outside and the plain side facing inward towards the wheel

And a new hanger is not the same as using a hanger tool to set it properly

I use a 2021 comp carbon as my commute / winter bike as it has proper mudguard clearance.

I did swap out the GRX for my old road double groupset and have 28 mm road tyres and it’s great.

I’ve yet to use it off road though

It’s not cracked it’s just been smashed by the join. I’d try and bend it back maybe a little heat and an adjustable spanner. Nothing to loose

It’s not just the spoke count that needs to match but also the ERD if you want to reuse the spokes and tape one rim to the other to swap them

A due date in June is good compared to many items in the U.K. cycle trade at the moment
