Used to live and ride just there. Ill fish out some routes if i can find the gpx. One of my favourites was to start at Arundel train station, ride up the back of the fishery and then its singletrack to whiteways where you hit the long traverse over the back of the fireroad behind the cafe before looping back to the long monkey run. Then over to the sdw signpost along the woods edge trail. Back along the sdw, over the road and down the bridleway then through the singletrack to sd bikes for a cuppa and home to pulborough.

My km has been built up in almost every combination of:

Alfine, geared, dinglespeed, fixed, singlespeed, flat bar, drop bar, flared drop, riser, road and offroad.
Its had cx tyres on it as a super-muddy singlespeed race bike and it has been ridden over dartmoor with 2.4s front and rear.

Its quick steering and short or long wheelbase thanks to the track ends. It also has that lovely skinny tube lateral flex that makes for a great riding machine. love it to bits.

    Get two

Edit: It’s not light but it’s tough enough to take a beating, get thrown in the van and do it again tomorrow. If you want faster just pedal harder :)

Seriously buddy, the buffalo windshirt is amazing. I have two. One is 20 years old and still does regular service. The paramo is good but thicker and less good on the bike. I wear mine for trailbuilding.

Awesome! Kingpin fold is fine. It simmiler to the Brompton. never had an issue with mine and they’re less prone to damage during the fold.

Ill hunt out the specs later if i get a mo.

If we’re having a real geek-off: If you’re not looking for a folder (when frankly a brompton is so very good then) or a space-frame then what you want is a dawes kingpin. Folding or non folding.
Dawes took the R20 and added a number of improvements eg. Better bearing headset, reinforcing, better tubing.

If you want a spaceframe but are worried aboit strength then there are some pashley ams around which was an “all road” version of the spaceframe built under licence. Theyre heavier and ive seen them much abused.

osprey 6 here too. I was always a pack guy but I’ve been converted. It’s ace. I even use mine on all day dartmoor epics. I just take some water treatment tablets with me and refill on the way.

    Awesome kit.

Am over on the Dartmoor side, pretty much at the start of the dartmoor classic route. It’s an awesome place to live. Haldon and Lustleigh 15mins away. Some of the UK’s best road, cyclocross/xc riding from my door. 20mins to central Exeter.
Woodbury, Quantocks, Exemoor all close enough to pop over to for a ride. Wales just a bit further.
