Crossed off list for next years city break. Surprised as we’ve really enjoyed Salzburg, Innsbruck & all the pointy bits.

Haven’t been up Dame Alice for a few years now (fnaar fnaar etc). Used to be a regular end to a loop from Christmas Common. If Sunday’s decent might head over that way.
Agree with many posters – I’ve been riding the area for 25 years, usually between the A34 and Risborough, and am still enjoying it. Lots of old-skool woodland singletrack and frequently all but deserted, even at weekends. Guess the gnar-monsters are on the M4.

Ordered pre price hike, I might add. Middleburn rings, I mean. Just seen the latest posts on the Bike Forum. Only ever bought my Middleburn bits from them, and won’t be inclined to browse for anything else going forward.

M&S energy is supplied by SSE, which is reason enough to avoid.

Never had any problem having my Linn LP12 looked after, Del. If it’s an amp they won’t look at then might I suggest Naim? No issues having my 20 year old 250 serviced.

Sad news re Middleburn. Count myself as one of the 12. RS8 Uno’s on both single speeds.

Currently enjoying a Plymouth Gin with Fevertree Sicilian Lemonade, 3 ice cubes and a slice of lemon. Great summer cooler. G&T? Botanist w Fevertree takes some beating.

Isn’t the RX100 MkV due shortly? Might be worth waiting for and see what happens to the earlier models price-wise.

Optic Shop. UK based. Just compared prices on Oakley Thin Link prizms: Misterspex = £141, Optic Shop = £120. Dunno about Raybans. Used a few times and can’t fault.

Alpine walking holidays, speck? Off for a couple of weeks end of month. 4th year in a row. Feeling a bit guilty now.
Wet days have been spent in museums etc and took us 3 years to find any reference to 3rd Reich……

I suggest damaging the pipe might not be sensible. Not only are you putting life and property at risk, I think you’ll find the supply will be made safe by disconnecting at the meter and you will be left to sort out the necessary repair.

‘Thought leaders’!!!!!! Love it. Need to try and slip it into one of tomorrow’s meetings and see if I get any reaction from the other attendees.

Battered old medium brimTilley here, worn Popeye Doyle style. Reckon it must be approaching 20 years old. Liking the hemp version, but the damn thing is indestructible.

Of the above I think the niner has it, ahead of the Shand, which to my eye is let down by the hose/cable routing. Course if I had a decent digital photo of my old Dekerf Team SL…..

    What’s going on?
We live in a tolerant, increasingly multicultural society, which is prepared to put it’s trust in a fellow Briton by electing him to a position of high office.
Surely this is what Del was seeking to highlight? Or maybe not.

Last Saturday morning I drove 1/2 way across Oxfordshire to a sorting office to pick up a couple of packages as per the card left during the week. Only to find it they were at a completely different office in the opposite direction.

Work related here too. Been in bad places a couple of times, but sympathetic other half and very supportive GP have allowed me to develop greater self awareness and understanding of triggers, enabling me to act before it develops into something debilitating.

Tried a few, but feel Encona is pretty good and obviously readily available. Kashmiri chutney from The Cherry Tree is ace, and also rate Trotters Chilli Jelly.

Mrs came out of Rose Lane, Oxford (by the Botanic Garden for those that know the city) on her Brompton. Joined a convoy of m/c’s and rollers in the middle and was surprised to see Liz & Phil the Greek looking out at her. Waved over at the bottom of Longwall Street by an irate copper.

Some sensible tips up above, plus:
Try a few off-road shoes. Personally I wear asics, but go for what feels right for YOU.
Stretch after. Start with easy pace to warm up. Wouldn’t recommend going hell for leather straight up hill – do a short loop prior to minimise risk of strains or tears.
    Every other day to start.
Add another 2 or 3 routes if you can to give a bit of variety.
Don’t get hung up on times, HRMs etc. With respect, I doubt you’ll be troubling elite athletes so why fret about such things. Enjoy it for what it is.
Getting out the door on a filthy dark night can be an issue, but once out I’ve never regretted it.
