Lisbon. Early March last year was mid 20’s. Enough to keep you occupied for 3 or 4 days, great food and reasonably cheap flights/accommodation. (We stayed at Cristiano Renaldo’s gaff, Pestana CR7.)

Dealt with them a few times, albeit some time ago, and didn’t have any issues. Probably best to ask them?

It’s exploitation, and it’s par for the course in the sector I work in – until I played the (genuine) stress card. As most above have said, get out.

After 90 minutes in sleety rain watching my lads team taking a 4-1 drubbing, it has to be heated car seats.

Some lads I knew at Uni also knew Jobson. Had a very similar view of him as McMoonters post. Personally his vocals got on my t!ts, but what a guitar sound. Unmistakable.

No connection other than I made one with the lad a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sits on the side and still makes me smile.

Vinyl is too expensive to ruin on one of the £100 jobbies. Do your ears and your records a favour and go for a Rega or Project and hitch it up to suitable amp/speaker combo.

No indication of £, but if you can stretch to it I’d be looking at Raurk R4 for an unobtrusive, conventionally styled 1 box solution.
Without the CD player, if your quick, John Lewis & Sevenoaks HiFi have £150 of the Naim Qb as a Black Friday promotion.

Saw the Pretenders a few weeks ago and yes, Chrissie has still got it.
Haven’t looked through all the above, so apologies if they’re in there somewhere:
    Garbage
    Siouxsie and the Banshees
    Slits
And at the moment Lu Williams is fronting an astonishingly good 3-piece. Maybe not hard rock but boy do they do a great southern rock groove.

Was in JL with the lad trying various headphones to replace his now dead Beats (Solo 2?) Budget of around £150, as part of his Christmas. HD4.50BTNC’s seemed to be his preferred option, but unclear whether they are essentially the same as the cheaper HD4.40BT’s, with noise cancelling. Former essential in a heaving JL, but for moping in his bedroom perhaps not so much.

Most LP’s I buy nowadays come with download cards so the USB requirement is irrelevant unless you are trawling the 2nd hand bins. Agre with the ‘ritual’ comments above.
My recollection of mid-eighties CD players is that they were shrill and fatiguing to listen to, though I shared the frustration of declining vinyl quality through that decade. Eventually gave in to digital around 93, but now buying LP’s again. For what it’s worth black vinyl. Not paying a fiver extra for a pretty colour – the music is the thing. They’re for listening to, not looking at.
A Rega at an appropriate price point would be my suggestion.

Mrs insisted on matching Dualit kettle & toaster when we had the kitchen redone. Toaster still toasting, kettle started leaking after around 2 years. Gone cheap ever since and they’ve all lasted longer.

Was in Glagow Tuesday for a gig. 1st time I’d been back in over thirty years. Left thinking it’s still a shit-hole. Wish this thread had started a few days earlier, at least I might have had something decent to eat.
