Southbound on Tuesday. Got caught up in that one. Another hgv at night.

Managed to avoid worst of it today by going to and from work via Witney.

    Dreadful road.

For west London I’ve recently taken to using Westfield’s parking. Safe, secure, 24hr.

Anyone else listening to the R4 play last week?

If sound quality is top priority then cordless/Bluetooth is probably not the best. Having said that, many allow the option of using a cord. No biggie if your static on a plane?

Gone a bit bonkers with gigs this year, kicking of with Brian Fallon, Mary Gauthier, Wilko Johnson and Nils Lofgren x2 so far. The complete wild card has been Wilson, Bennett, Poole, however. If you respect the classics (maaaaaan) try and catch them. Wonderful Byrdsian 12 string riffs and solid set of songs drawn from their first record.

Before my 2nd Stones show I’ve got David Byrne (very excited about this, having had sneak previews via Twitter) and Elvis Costello. Fatoldgit shares my view on Stones: left Ricoh absolutely stunned. Unbelievable the energy coming off that stage from a bunch of 70+ guys. Twickenham show can’t come quick enough. They seem to be the ultimate tribute band to themselves.

Gig year continues with Steve Earle x2, Steve Van Zandt, Jake Clemons, Proclaimers, Roddy Frame, Pixies, Courtney Marie Andrews and, another I’m hyper excited about, Cowboy Junkies.

I know it’s not the hippest of lists but wtf, I’m approaching 60 and still in the pit/on the rail for live music, which can’t be a bad thing.

Spent tidy sum on streamer so made sense to take up introductory free Tidal lossless. Very happy with quality vs. cost, though if others were to up the former I’d give it some thought.

Last night I rode down the street to the One Stop on the corner to get a couple of cans and a lottery ticket. Can we be friends?

Yes. Get it sorted. It’s not hard, and avoids a lot of unnecessary hassle when least needed should the worst happen

Expanding on Matt’s Fife suggestion, any of the towns/villages between Crail & Lower Largo.

Nope, but I have compared the Momentums with B&W P7s. Preferred the P7s but could happily go with the Sennheisers also.

Bugger! Threw out an unopened 5 pack of SA90’s last month while clearing my mums house. Clearly I am not hipster enough to have seen beyond the vinyl revival. Vinyl I get – never stopped, but cassettes? Sorry, don’t see the point.

Still got a boxed up decent in its day aiwa cassette deck. Might have to check flea bay.

Never met a fellow Scot in St Andrews. Mostly toothy American girls looking for a prince, according to my sister.

If your better half is working in Perth area then why not consider there? Smaller, nicer (imho),  and head due north for mountains. 1/2hr on train.

Had one too. Can’t remember name tho’. Saw an updated version a couple of years ago, but rather than a bald head it had exfoliated lady-bits……

As a Fifer I’d suggest across the bridge is best!

Little sis is in the Ferry and while predictably folks are sneering, it is a nice place to be. West end equally so.

You’ll need to translate for most on here, twicewithchips!

Tram 28 – we caught it from the terminus. Q’s not a problem.

Time Out market. Good food, live music and a decent cocktail bar.

Trip out to Belem – custard tarts, Henry the Nav monument, monastery, castle and an excellent modern art gallery will pretty much pass a day.

Stayed at Ronaldo’s Pestana CR11 hotel, which was central, clean and comfortable. Yeah, city is a bit down at heel in places, but didn’t bother us at all.

The Beatles vol1 by Lewisohn. Fantastic read for anyone with an interest in Fab Four, or indeed the UK music biz late 50’s, early 60’s.

Missed at cinema, and found it underwhelming on a 32″ screen. Suspect the big screen/sound would improve it considerably. Nice to see Branagh being wheeled out to do his phlegmatic Brit cliche…….

Glad to hear you’re all ok.

I have a feeling what you described will be notifiable to the HSE anyhow, but you contacting them won’t do any harm. Did you take pics of what you found when you were on the scaffolding. Wouldn’t waste your time trying to find someone sensible at Gas Safe. Doesn’t sound like it was a gas installer at fault.

Call the gas emergency number 0800 111999. You and your family have been exposed to carbon monoxide through gross negligence. Your local gas transporters emergency engineers should take control of the situation, referring it the HSE for investigation, and give you advice re blood tests to determine the level of exposure.

Living in the middle of it here in West Oxon. Much of the land owned by that benevolent charity St Johns College, Oxford. District councils are rubber stamping planning apps with landowners and developers in a feeding frenzy.

No thought given to supporting infrastructure: schools bursting at the seams and major routes static mornings & evening. No sign of any S106 monies finding their way into local projects. Creating dormitories for commuters, not sustainable communities.

As noted elsewhere lots of ‘stunning’ executive 4/5 beds – nothing our kids will ever be able to afford.

    Boils my p!ss.

Mayrhofen or Seefeld/Leutasch. Latter a bit more chilled and relaxing. Easy to get to from Innsbruck.

Further east, Filzmoos was nice for a week or so. Again a bit more laid back. Close to Salzburg.

From memory all had free cards with hotel bookings.

For years it’s been R4 weekdays, 5 Live weekends. Now I’ve finally got into internet radio my heads exploded with the choice. Romanian hip-hop anyone?
