i have sold and bought stuff from “fennerhorn” i used to pick stuff up from his house in brighton.

i never had a problem with him. but he did seem very aware. (never let me in his house to wait in his hallway whilst he got the parts i bought. (i waited in the rain for 5 minuets whilst he removed a BB from a bike he was selling me)

I think we should have a specific thread naming bad sellers (inc paypal details/bank details, email address and ant other information) so we can do a quick search on their name (using the search bar) and see if there genuine.

*stays quiet about his stash of out-of-date signal flares*

(We have an agreement with police and local MRT that we let them know, and then have one manic 30-mins to set off all the out of date stuff in one mad go. Got the heart going last year with one that emerged from a sea kayak that was 5 years out of date…)

i had some thing similar in the Falklands. we set off 256 flares all types! was the best 2 hours i had down there (except the drunken walk from the harbour lights to MPA)

i have seen a set of forks snap after having a disc tab brazed on. the for was never designed to take the stresses and strains associated with disc brakes.

i used a set of p clips on the seat stays and a seat clamp with pannier threads on them.

worked for the last 5 years on a pearson carbon road bike

Looks nice. I would wait for the Sram red or order it from the U.S.

Also the stem is the wrong way up (IMHO) +1 for black wheels

tip top-ish. i like to have my gears tuned and my suspension plush if there is a worn bearing then i will replace it (in time)

So if i can fix it for free (tune up) i will.

tbh, i think the whole entering process is a JOKE!

if i want to ride an event i will pay for my entry and turn up on the day. im not going to bumlick and send a postcard asking “please let me ride, i think your great”

i enjoy meeting up with old mates at ssuk. but this year i wont be! WELL DONE

the brakes will be fine for him, im guessing he is light weight. i would do the forks and 2×9 it.

then when he mashes up the wheels upgrade them to a nice set of superstars or classified £100 specials.

he said to carry on as normal inc riding and working (heavy lifing and contorting my self through small gaps and holes)

i was chatting to the Mrs last night and she said i hate it when my Scottish mate says “ken” which means i know. also a few other scottish slang annoys me “give it a chap” means knock it.

i think that come from my hatred for a guy who i used to work with when i was in the army.

if you dont want the bb then a hammer and chisel could work or a pair of water pump pliers.

but i would take it to my local bike shop.
