im liking the idea of a home brew with glitter.

i have found my stans can thiken up and need renewing after a while. i think art latex, spoon of glitter, anitfreeze (or a bit of vodka)and a dash of water will do the trick.

i think i will give it a go and see what happens

im having the same dilemma but my car has a DAB radio built in (after market) just had a quick read but unsure if it will work. I also didnt want to pay the £25 for the aerial adaptor for a Volvo so I currently dont have RDS. Suppose i could fit one but i would need to fit a aerial too. any ideas?

i have never taken the hoses off to bleed brakes. EVER. only to cut down hoses or thread the hose through swing arms etc. i use the avid system and it works fine. i flush the whole system but have just had the top cap off my old hopes and put a splash of fluid in before. both work.

the next issue i can see is that the axle will be seized into the hub meaning you cant pull it out. if this is the case i can only see 2 options. hacksaw down the side oh the hub/fork leg and cut the axle out or big bar and hammer the axle out. (i would cut it)

    this will do. http://www.its.co.uk/pd/PROLJO4-4mm-Hss-Drill-Bit-Long-Series-_PROLJO4.htm?gclid=CIWwk7Xv2LYCFWfItAodhRoAFA

you need a metal drill bit. a masonary bit wont work and neither will a wood.

any thing between 4 and 4.5mm will do. depending on how much slack you require.

integrated is when the cups cant be removed (most modern road bikes) internal is when the cups can be removed.

im sure some one will come along and tell me im wrong but thats just STW

from looking at the picture it would appear that the headset cups are installed and will need either, replacing or new bearings. (i would get a new headset.

Im fairly certain its a 1″1/8th internal headset.

most of the modern chainsets are universal so they will fit your frame with the correct spacers fitted. the headset might be 1’1/8th or 1″ so you need to know that before buying a headset (but a bike from 2000 should have a 1’1/8th headset). other than the issue with the headset im fairly confident that most modern parts will fit. you can even upgrade to 10 speed by buying shifters, mechs and chain that are all 10 speed.

you will need special tools to take the bb out and chainset off. if changing the cassette you will need a cassette tool and chain whip

i used a drill (with a clutch) to tap 645 holes. I had to repair both diesel tanks from a LCVP they have 4 or 5 port holes on them and all the threads needed repairing. the job took me 3 weeks! had nothing else to do in the falklands other than drink
