I have found some bits up at kenley air field then out behind warlingham school. Down on to the north downs.

Happy to meet up one day soon. I only have an Ebike 🤣

Did find a good run in the wood the other side of the junction 8 cafe. Gatton park¿

Thanks for the reply. Saturdays are my busiest day with the kids. Usually go for midweek or evening blasts

I used to ride the area quite a lot used to ride out with Addiscombe CC. Lots changed in the last 5 years if not more.

Thanks, I ride the north downs quite often on my rides. I normally head to pitch and holmbury if I’m out for the day. Ideally looking for some decent bits of single track.

IMHO for £100 you should buy 2nd hand. £100 brand new forks are going to be utter poo.

I’m sure you will find something on the classifieds.

make sure you have removable bosses first. then you have to match the size. some are 8mm some are 6mm suspension forks are different again.

    alu,

yeah its fine loads of room. between my mates we own 7. there no frills race frames. can’t fault them at all. i have drilled my frame and run full length cables (linear brake outers) just sorting tubs out at the moment. getting my file treads ready for summer series

i currently have 2 specialized Crux with revox brakes. i didn’t race/ride at all last year due to an injury but i love mine. just been on it today (ok on the rollers) and was happy!

just don’t buy a norco! they are some slack angles. like riding a lowrider

if it was me i would leave it be. but that would be if i was riding in the UK/Local. But as you doing a epic ride i would change it. the rim could pop and game over for your holiday for the sake of a few quids.

6 of 1 half a dozen of the other!

i was there last year. i didnt see any shops hiring road bikes though.

also i dont want to upset you but you do know that the pleney lift is being refurbished this summer?

“The Pleney bubble will be closed for the summer as I’m sure you have all heard the rumours. Morzine will be open as normal just without this 1 lift. The super Morzine will be opening earlier than normal from 15th June it will open at 8:30am each day and there will be a free bus service for mountainbikers between Morzine and Les Gets. We will also be offering our guests a shuttle service from Morzine to Les Gets after breakfast so you can make the most of the Portes Du Soleil area. Les Gets is open for Weekends from 25th May then every day 15th June, the full area will be open from Friday 28th June and there will be 23 lifts operating across the Portes Du Soliel.
We are really excited about the new improved Pleney bubble which will be ready for Winter 2013/14, we will keep you updated throughout the summer with the progress…”

i also do think its a stupid law! there is no need for a physical tax disc. as long as its in the data base this will be all that is necessary

because its saturday night the post office is closed tomorrow and the previous owner is probably not insured on the car if its untaxed (sorn)

get a local machining shop to make you one?

    oneoneoneone

you can tax the car on-line assuming it has insurance.

the only issue is the tax disc will be posted to the previous owner as the dvla do no have “up to date” information. You could wait till monday and tax it at your local Post office. that way you will get the disc.

if you know the previous owner maybe they would post the disc on to you once it has arrived.

if you are pulled over by the police you may be prosecuted for “failure to display”

    hope that helps.

if your car is too low to get a jack under (my c2 rally spec was) drive it onto a plank of wood (such as a scaffolding board) it will raise the car enough to get a jack under it.

when the cable is not attached to the brake arms use 1 hand to put a bit of tension on the cable and pull the lever. release the lever and does it feel like the cable pulls back ok? if its rough or jerky then the cable is jazzed

remove the cable from the brake arms. now squeeze the arms together. do they move freely? do they stick? try taking arms off the lugs and rub the lugs with a bit of wire wool. there may be a slight bit of surface rust on the lugs.
