Just purchased what might be the only Spur GX in existence in the whole of the UK!
After waiting for over 6 months for a delayed delivery, I found one 1km from where we were staying in Wales for a biking trip! Looking forward to getting it sorted for a weekend of sunny riding.

Further to this thread, I’ve replaced my latest failed SRAM Dub BB with a hope 30mm and their dub adapter. So far so good!

och a wee doggy barking for 5 minutes when its let out is hardly endless barking! one of our neghbours lets their dog out at 10pm on te dot, it barks precisely once presumably to relieve the stress of the day,i like it.

Quite possibly the dog barks once at the door to be let back in the house, thats what our dog does.
We have a neighbour with a dog that constantly barks, drives me up the wall. When our neighbour has a social gathering, it quite often gets locked in the garden. This then turns into 30 minutes of barking/howling/crying at the door to get back in. Once caught the brother locking the poor thing in the Wendy house. People are arseholes.

I’ve just ordered a pair and have sized up. Are the neoprene cuffs easy to get feet in and out of?

I use the Topeak D2. No problems at all with it in the 3 years I’ve been using it, I don’t need 100% accuracy though. 60% of the time it works every time.

I’ll be doubling down on it as has been said, it’s a good time to buy. I’ve still got 16-18 years before I need it, so should be ok!

What sort of prices do these people charge? Any ballpark figures? Always wondered when you see these top end jobs.

    I’ve got 3 pairs.
Galibier Ardennes for Autumn (down to 2-3 degrees)
Galibier Barrier Gloves for winter (down to 2 down to -2)
Sealskins lobster gloves for anything colder.
Don’t get cold fingers any more.

Size up on the galibiers for sure. I’m normally a large but have to go XL.

Thanks very much for the replies. I’ve emailed YT about a possible test ride. I did a test ride on the Spur back in September,it was great and although it was the deore spec, I loved it. Would probably improve a lot with the improved spec/decreased weight. Should probably stop being an impatient ****…
Went out today on my current bike, and I still love riding it, so it’s nothing urgent I guess.
I’ll wait and see what happens with the test ride.

A further twist. More fool me, I know, but I tried to cancel the one I ordered for £185 direct from Garmin after I found the Millets/Topcashback deal for £171.
Of course, I can’t cancel now, the transaction is too far gone and I’ll just have to return it once it arrives.

Bought one anyway. 25% off seems like a good deal still so I’m not cutting my nose off to spite my face

The price is £6000, plus £940 for packing, shipping and VAT.
Still great value spec compared to the big boys.

I’ll be having a massive clear out come spring time as I will be going from 4 bikes to 1. I can’t wait to be able to get in my shed without smashing my head on handlebars.

Thanks chaps, thanks to your inspiration, I’ve managed to polish off more of the festive cheese this afternoon with a ridged pan/ steak press combo. Never thought of doing that before.
Produced the perfect toasted sandwich and didn’t chop the edges off my large slices of bread. No overly compressed bread either. 8/10, need to experiment with cheese on the outside too.
Will add more of these to my weekend post ride snack inventory.

Good excuse to send back the Nukeproof horizon one and buy a Hope 30mm BB. I have a SRAM XX1 BB30/PF30 crankset in a Hope BB that’s been trouble free for years.

As above, lad in the shop is wrong. When you say a smidge too narrow, sometimes cranks need to be lined up bang on and I’ve been known to give them a light tap to pursuade them through the BB.
Unless they’ve sent you a Dub BB in which case don’t try to hammer them in!!

I wonder if there is a time at which they cut ordered off. I ordered about 3pm on Christmas day and have heard nothing. I assume those who have received watches/ confirmation ordered in the morning?

Pump up, give it a spun/shake/bounce and come back in an hour to see if it’s still up. If not, possibly retape?

Evoc racebelt looks ideal for your needs too. I’m wanting to go the other way, needing a bit more space in my hippack (need to fit an extra fleece in it for pub rides)

Interesting thread. I currently have a trail full sus, trail hardtail and an xc hardtail. I tend to ride whichever is most dirty.
Considering selling the lot of them when I get my new bike (transition spur) as upkeep and servicing is quite a chunk of money/time. One bike to rule them all!

Exposure Trace-r for me. Easy to use, battery life seems to last for an age. I have 2 of them.
I did have to return for the problem mentioned above (migrating charge point) but it was sorted quickly and f.o.c. They are relatively local to me in Sussex, so also a bonus.

I have 2 wheelsets on my whippet- 2.25 mezcals on 30mm internal and Ardent race 2.1/ iKON 2.0 rear on 25mm internal.
The Ardent/iKON pair are especially nice on road.
    Neither pair like mud.

Taken up the slack with the plastic collar on the left crank (would be nicer if this was a metal collar as the plastic feels cheap) and no dramas really.

Cane creek do a decent metal preload adjuster which is miles better than the generic sram ones.

If the hole is the same as on a 2017 CC model, I’m sure I have a grommet you can have foc. DM and I’ll have a look at the weekend.

I’m on a waiting list since July. I’ve gone to Quench cycles bedgebury as its local-ish. This will be my first full bike, so want to have back up for any problems should they occur.
