If it's not a commuter then don't bother with white unless you use a dirtworker whilst riding down muddy tracks, (picture that- sketchy)

Am glad you made a thread on this as I have just been experiencing the same creaky crack ass noise myself and this might just be the ticket.

Thought it was my seatpost area, not the bearing pivots and some may say 🙄

cheers Spud.

The black chilli ones are quite draggy in in 2.2" mode which is more like 2.0" in real world use.

They also are silly thin walled as mentioned above but are protected by a type of orange colour mesh so I seem to remember, sold them on a bike just to get rid.

I love continental twister pro's though BUT they don't friggin sell them no more, just the supersonics which are apparently only good for light clear from debri riding. 😡 😛

:EDIT:

OR you could opt for some Hutchinson Toro hardskins in 2.35" flavour to use mainly in the dry as they have a tendency to drift in wet deepish mud which is well, fun I'd say but also quite demanding too at times.

These Toros are fast as **** on compact dry trails like the conti twisters, just more tread depth and harder walled fro puncture resistance.

Twin, don't be foolish aye.

yes he can of course with-hold the ebay question answer.

Let it slide for now, he'll be no doubt questioned about the other bike which he is selling surely.

Without sounding wet behind the ears, – the so called people who fair play, your trying to help further their lives in a more constructive legit way sound like real scum that would stab anyone's granny in ther back.

Obviously that's ''assuming'', which in most cases, is incorrect.

Or if this is untrue then next time you see them when going into work,
Alarms, ground anchors, motorbike security chains etc

Does not mean is less breakable into, just removing said items would prove tricky if the alarms, locks weren't takeable off.

As I have heard of horror stories about people who have had ground anchor locks and alarms and the bikes still going missing as the actual deterrants did not do their job.

As fro motorcycle lock, if it's sold secure and it's wrapped round the frame, i.e. not the wheel then I guess that's ok but does not stop the thieves from taking bike and finding out whether they can get the chain off or not does it.

My point being is that if they want it, they will take it but going into someones back yard is slightly different to breaking and entering a lived in building where one of many dangers for them could be waiting.

Breaking into most houses would be much easier than breaking into their sheds.

EXPLAIN!?

I totally agree with Hora above ^.

All these kids leaving their 3500grand dh bikes in a shed that's barely locked then putting in a claim with there parents insurance underwriters is beyond silly behaviour to me.

Also worth noting is that I see these adverts posted up on stolen bikes topics/threads on different forums.

They were asking for it most of the time, of course no-one actually asks to have their bike nicked but to put it on display in town, to then lcok using a yale on a wooden shed without further protection is a FFS scenario in my books.

Sorry, but the reality is that some people will take advantage of a situation for their own ends, without much thought for those they steal from.

What sad reading that makes if it is true that other so called mtb'ers steal from other (read=proper) mtb'ers.

That simply ''SUCKS'' feeling is without a shadow of a doubt, the most gutting feeling ever when you have found a bike which belongs to yourself stolen and feeling completely useless.
BUT, – now everyone is online pretty much, there are more opportunities to spot the odd bike out syndrome which becomes increasingly popular in cities and towns alike.

SHAME ON THE ASS FLUFF THAT STOLE THIS YETI and all the other's.

Flame thrower whilst getting razzed up on whiskey and spuing it to fuel the fire of bike thieves being burnt at dusk is what's needed here to sh#t them up.

But in all serious, it boils my piss their actual attitude of stealing bikes, begs belief.

😡

Though having said that, complete result by the sounds of things.

Keep us updated won't you on how he's charged etc.

😀 for you.

Yeah SANCHO, – intriguing now you have said that as I couldn't quite see it myself but who knows.

If your perhaps using pinkbike/bikeradar/ebay, your asking for 3 or 4/10 items being stolen or mucked around by seller.

So come on then, fess up, who are the STW.COM bike thieves who apprently frequent here???

Apart from previous silly postage costs on things like leightweight fox jerseys hmmmm, they are good from my experience.

Friendly and that so yeah, 8/10, probably a 9/10 or 10/10 nowadays as postage is FREE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that a troll?

Just as much as your comments on here are.

Plus just bought a f.s. frame with 153mm or so travel and that must weigh 8lbs with shock. Who gives a s#it.
MTFU!

But in all serious, to the op, he's/she's probably just gauging what else it's comparing to on the market.

Still though, at this mid travel range, who cares! 🙄

onceinalifetime
Free Member

Surely if your going to be buying that kind of bike, you shouldn't give a damn what weight it is, after all, it's a 140mm travel frame ffs!

Just make sure you have a pro-pedal shock on but what shock doesn't have pro-pedal nowawdays.

I'd say if your asking questions like that, then your probably overbiked.

Sure thing, ok then so basically I can replace the bearings then?

Never done this operation before so might need to call in the A-Team.

Name and shame if a specific time was given for sending out I reckon, especially as it's been what 13 days now.

Not acceptable atall imo.

I'm guessing that I have answered my own question then no?

What I really need to know is if there's a way of preloading the bearings on this particular hub.

onceinalifetime
Free Member

@Three_Fish – It's a fox 36 (2006), and yes I know as I usually do the exact same method regarding headset setup.

For all I know it's on it's original bearings as it has had 2 seasons use as a demo bike.

onceinalifetime

Axle on the forks/wheel should be tight enough as I assembled properly, the bike on Friday, long light'ish ride Saturday.

I screwed the axle in first of all to finger tight then a wee more.
Then secondly tightened pinch bolts up carefully to finger tight and no more so all ''should'' be good.

Maybe the hub bearings have had it and that it will need replacing, – can they be replaced would you know?

thankyou

Just seen your in DUNDEE, on that note, I can't give/sell you my new packaged one that came with my giant for the mph brakes adaptor.

oh well.

(don't mean to be a tease)

But yeah, try a halfords or vets, or possibly even a town centre wilkinsons or even a back alley next to wilkinsons if they are not open for business.

Looks damn good, was going to buy one till I personally cannot spend that kind of money on a bike again.

GVFM IMO! 8)

Go for it then tell me how much I should of bought one.

They're thin on the ground iirc but are coming into dealers again iirc.

Personally I'd settle for an alloy with carbon rear although the Carbon pricing on top doesn't seem to bad compared to say errr santa cruz. 😯

Perfect Uk xc/trail frame as the angles would add up, the travel adds up and, and THE Yeti branding.

Now please please please, go buy one in stealthy black for me to drawl over the pics, PLEASE!

thankyou LoCo, just I had a bad experience once with a 2006 float r where it stuck down, – thought it was because I put too much air in the chamber but do somewhat seem to remember something Mojo stated about dodgy air seals being the culprit.

Will go pump up now then, no time like the present for a bit of weekend warring. 😛

Thanks for giving more detail.

Sounds like it probably isn't my 1995 custom built by a shop in Warwickshire which I uprgaded with hs33 frogs with cnc brake boosters.

Was just about to upgrade the forks to Z2 bamz aswell then was stolen from a shed whilst under a barrage of bad violently windy weather.

Can still remember that night thinking twice then being woken up to find the worst day of my life.

Would never leave a bike locked in a bike shed again and canno simply believe how insurance companies cover people for bikes locked in sheds nowadays.

KE KE KE KRAZY!

thanks again for posting here though.
quite a close one that I'd say.

Are you sure it was a Raleigh m-trax.

was it chunky tubed i.e. silver polished downtube with green magura hs33's, yellow coloured triple clamps, with yellow deep rimed wheels???

Thanks.

What, 25yrs now with a bitter attitude of not getting enough riding in. 😆

Too right, it's becoming a usual right of practice for bike dealers to treat their customer's like complete ****ts (Motorcycle shops aswell ime).

Even just after having walked in with a smile and an upbeat hello tone.

Narky is the actual attitude from some-most bike shops I have been into.

Good to hear a different from the norm.

We need more rider owned shops imo. get back to basics 100% real.
