He is narrating a documentary about Armstrong rather than playing him

was it on here that someone posted a video of themselves last winter of them going up a hill on their bike with a snowboard strapped to their back, then they went down the hill on their snowboard with their bike strapped to their back. i was well impressed with that!

Cant help out but they are currently seeking feedback on whether to build some mtb trails there. I think the email was routes@clydemuirshiel.co.uk

my favourite microwave one is pawridge 😀

only takes 90 seconds in the microwave and no faff with having to take it out and mix it up then put it back in again. not sure why the ‘adult’ microwave porridge takes longer

yeah different geometry – steeper angles on the headtube/seat tube and low rake on the forks. although some track bikes for pursuit have a smaller front wheel (650c) with a downward sloping top tube. i’ve never tried one of those but quite fancy a go!

battlefield bad company 2 is really good online

similar war theme to mw2 but you can blow up buildings and use tanks, helicopters, jet skis etc

shortest most direct route with lots of traffic lights etc then about 14 mph, longer route with less stops then about 17mph…both end up taking me about the same time to get into work so i usually just go the longer one as it is more pleasant

Some really good museums and art galleries as already mentioned above

Berghain is another great club although the door policy can make it difficult to get in.

tresor is good too. Particularly love the entrance to it as you walk along this big corridor that is just lit by stobes, then all you can see once you get into the dance area is even more strobes and smoke and people going nuts.

while on the spy based totty theme i watched the pilot of nikita last night (think this might be the 3rd or 4th time the series has been remade!). Maggie Q is Nikita. Now she aint too bad at all herself but the women who is training to be a spy (and who is working undercover for Nikita) is loverly! Lyndsy Fonseca

optimum pressure in terms of rolling resistance is dependent on how much you weigh and what the road conditions are like.

However 120psi is fairly normal. Might be a harsher ride than 90psi but should in theory give a bit more protection from punctures.

You will get alot better puncture protection with a conti gatorskin, specialized armadillo, bontrager hardcase etc.

due to lack of space i dont have a winter road bike anymore. going to need to spend alot of time cleaning after rides this winter 🙁

I’m usually ok going without for rides under 3 hours or so but for longer days it is a definite help.

Never tried sudocrem but chamois cream is good value – about £12 for assos and the tub lasts for months, easily the cheapest cycling expenditure i go through!

Didnt know what a powerball was so googled it and found this video of the world record. Is it basically just an exercise to improve **** or is there more to it than that?

was a pro waterpolo player in my early to mid 20s. Was a monumentally crap lifestyle of hard training in near poverty with the ‘payoff’ being potential olympic participation. Which i missed out on unfortunately!

I miss it though, i enjoy individual competitive sports too (and got to a decent level in swimming) but it is just not the same sort of feeling you get when being part of a team. If i won something as an individual i often felt a bit embarrassed (i dont know why!) but winning with a team you just wanted to go and celebrate with your mates and i didnt feel self conscious about it like i did on my own.

got chased by a couple of parking wardens on scooters before we could check it out properly. That was quite fun actually 😀

going over to investigate some of the closed streets later this afternoon to see if an improptu bike race can happen around the park or maybe even on the motorway which is going to be closed (which frankly is a bit ridiculous considering the crowd is only going to be about 65000!)

pearl izumi cyclone are good on their own as a spring / autumn glove (down to about 5 or 6 degrees) – not bulky at all and good cuffs which cover the wrist. with a liner they are also decent as a winter glove too – did me fine in the subzero conditions of last winter with an underglove underneath.

Any gloves i've tried with built in liners i've always had problems after taking them off or washing them

one of my mates has the zipp frame similar to that and uses it for triathlons – it looks ridiculous but his times on it are about half a minute faster over a 10 than on his transition tt bike

yeah doing the 51 mile one with my dad, hoping to start early as possible as the last time i started after 9 and it was total chaos!

it is a nice route. not the quickest way to get there but nice quiet cycle track and quiet roads. couple of sections are unsuitable for thin/slick tyres as it is more like fire road and the bit between balloch and glasgow isn't great but that is only 15 miles or so.

the section of the route between carlisle and glasgow is good too

you'll never walk alone is maudlin shite

The Argentinian and Turkish fans take some beating when it comes to fan chants. Although one of my favourites would b horta magiko from panathinaikos is a cracker (although video is from a basketball game rather than football) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX-HP7V4aaw

Dont have a clue what any of it means but sounds great!

Also quite like this ditty i heard motherwell fans sing once

"Well i've been a muff diver for many a year
I've spent all my money on muff divin' gear
From goggles to flippers and oxygen tank
    If I cant have a muff dive i'll just have a ****
    And its Motherwell, Motherwell FC
It's by far the greatest team the world has ever seen"

Used to happen to me when i was about the same age, it was the disc bit on the inside of the grip that would rub (i think that would be the donut referred to above?).

Dont remember anything being done to help but the problem went away after a bit – i guess after a while my skin toughenedd up where it was rubbing

It is not so much the weather i mind its the grit/salt on the roads as i dont have space for a winter bike and having to clean the bikes thoroughly after ever use can get annoying.

Ive used them many times in the past for my roadbikes, with no problems. Just follow the usual precautions of not overtightening, keeping the clamp clean of grit to prevent scratches etc.

You will likely grow to love twitchiness/responsiveness once you get used to it – it is something that at slow speeds can sometimes feel a bit awkward but when going faster it is like the bike just comes alive.

i've never experienced much congestion at GT apart from if im just starting off a section behind a group. The carparks can be full and there will be loads of people out riding but it can still seem quiet. if i go out after 2 even on a saturday i can do the whole red without seeing another person after the buzzards nest or freeride park

I've had to convert my commuting fixie to a single speed as overtime i couldnt fit into jeans or trousers. Not skinny by any means (32" waist) but anything i bought at that size i couldn't get above my thighs due to using my fixie so much 😀
