For beginners to hip hop then i’d recommend starting off with something like De La Soul – 3 feet high and rising, the Pharcyde – Labcabincalifornia or Jurassic 5 – Jurassic 5. Great albums and very accessible too

Depends on what sort of riding. For road then i’ve used vr28 blue iridium most this winter – the low sun makes the persimmons a bit too bright and if it turns a bit overcast while out then the vr28s are still ok. Whereas for mountain biking if there is any shadow involved then the persimmons or clear would be my choice

Used to be a pro water polo player (and a pretty serious swimmer before then until it ruined my stroke!). Swimming is generally pretty good exercise for most other sports so probably helped my biking initially

One of my favourite bike rides ever was just a day trip from glasgow a couple of summers ago. cycled glasgow to gourock – ferry to dunoon then cycle dunoon to portavadie – ferry to tarbert then cycle to claonaig and get the ferry to lochranza and go round arran the long way to get to brodick and the ferry to ardrossan then cycled back to glasgow. Was a long day but the weather and scenary was incredible so it felt like i’d been away on holiday rather than just a cycle ride from my own door.

tights or 3/4s with baggies on top. The only time i’ve worn tights on their own when on the mtb (rather than road) i ended up falling off and tearing an arse flap in them 🙁

Good show which Five USA totally arsed about with the scheduling of it – they had season 1 on once a week at about 10 that finished then put out season 2 between boxing day (in 2009) and new years day about 1 am, without advertising it. Dont think they have shown it since then either.

I’ve always had good service from evans in glasgow/braehead. Most of the staff there seem pretty knowledgable and into their bikes too so i guess it is at other stores that their ‘halford-like’ reputation comes from.

To be fair to halfords, personally i’ve never had any problems there either!

For taking photos the camera will be better but for videos the gopro. (it also has a still setting to take photos every 2/5/10/30 seconds im not sure if you can take single shots with it though). the protection from the waterproof case is a big advantage too

Got one for christmas as well, the attachment on the pisspot seems very secure. Like the chest strap the best so far (almost forget its on whereas when its on my helmet i am a bit too conscious about smacking it off a branch!) just need to tinker about with the position a bit though.

Can help thinking about the possibilities for a few homemade movies too, dont think the girlfriend will be up for that though 🙁

I dont have a wife but my girlfriend doesnt have a clue how much my bikes are worth – She once asked why i didnt get one of the £79 bikes out of tesco because it would be a bit cheaper than the bikes i look at in bike shops. ive been a passenger in a hummer h1 when offroading and that was incredible in deep mud that everything else was getting stuck in and having to get a tow out of – by the h1. even managed to get the front wheels up a vertical wall to about 6 foot off the ground! But it is just so big and ungainly compared to the others so if i was needing an offroader then i’d go down the g wagen, defender, wrangler or landcruiser route.

Ive been off the bike for 3 months now due to injury after an accident at the bellahouston velodrome – not a high speed blow out or something spectacular but a football hitting me (for those that know it calling it a velodrome is a bit of a joke, it is more like a jogging track).
