i’ve had the 40gb ps3 for years and still got plenty of space.

if you were wanting to store music and movies on it then the more space the better but you could always just store them on your computer and stream them from there to the ps3.

There will always be a need for plain clothes police but too many seem to think they are part of Vic Mackeys strike team.

i like buffs but find they can get a bit wet when you are breathing hard and then that can get a bit cold if there is a bit of wind chill. they are ideal though for keeping a draft away from your neck or pulling up over the ears too.

when it is properly cold i have a gore windstopper balaklava and that is really good. i think they also do a version that just covers the mouth and nose

i must have about 30 tubes hanging waiting to be patched when i can be arsed. Only one of of them has been put to use the last couple of years and it wasn’t patched just cut to be a chainstay protector

the peace pledge union where the white poppy idea originated was on the surface (and to be fair to most members) a perfectly decent organisation but it also had quite a few links in its leadership to appeasement and the profascist movement during the 1930s and 1940s, so IMO is a much less wholesome symbol than just a support for ‘peace’.

The “mtb trails” in Pollok Park are pretty short. The first time i went there i cycled to it and met a mate who had driven up from Stirling. The ride from the carpark to the trail head was longer than the actual trail. And the carpark was pretty much less than couple of minutes away!

Better than nothing as it will be good for kids i suppose but not really what we were expecting and certainly not worth a trip from Stirling.

A couple of the Paralympic ones come across as really patronising with the love bit.

Its like saying you are sort of shit but i have so much sympathy with your predicament of having no legs and you look like you are trying so very hard and being so very brave going along on your wheelchair around the running track.

kyles are more comfy for me too

(although i think they slightly changed the design this year, i haven’t tried the new version yet to see if this is still the case)

finally got it and had a couple of games

slightly disappointed so far as they seem to have really toned down the destruction compared to bad company 2…that was one of my favourite bits!

still looks a good game though so will be getting plenty of playtime

I’m not defending sexism or anything else negative but a bit of perspective is needed – it is after all just a internet forum and shouldnt be take too seriously (and as forums go it is pretty genteel and well moderated – banter amongst friends in “real life” is much worse than the banter amongst posters on here!)

they price match online prices in the shop so long as it is UK based website (will also add on delivery charge if that applies)

its less hassle getting them to do it in the shop than purchasing and then contacting them afterwards

    decathlon ones for me too

my fingers really suffer in the cold so generally wear full winter gloves and liners from about 5 degrees and below. So it doesnt need to be particularly cold to get the benefit.

    The Holy Bible is immense.

In terms of their legacy they made a huge mistake not changing their name – every shit thing they do now just tarnishes their past in a way that a shit Foo Fighters song isn’t ever going to tarnish In Utero.

No-one came round tonight so all my halloween stocks are untouched, yaaaas

Although this is actually the second load of munchies i bought, i had to go out for more today because i ate them all at the weekend. Counting it up i reckon i broke the 10000 calorie mark yesterday!

Itunes plays mp3 fine. If you are importing new songs then the default import i think is aac but you can change the default to mp3 if you prefer.

+1 for the Dukes Pass down to Aberfoyle – hairpins, great scenary and a good road surface. In the wet it can be a bit testing getting round those hairpins though!

I prefer the ascent/descent from the Rest and be Thankful along the B828 (Hells Glen) rather than the main road.

    Some other favourites:

The String Road in Arran is great on a nice day looking down over the water – the top section in particular is fast – only hill in the UK where i’ve managed to hit 60 mph. Lochranza to Glen Sannox would be good too if it wasn’t for the awful road surface

The C11 road from Glendaruel to Otter Ferry – bastard of a climb to get to the top but nice descent with spectacular scenary coming out the treeline and overlooking Loch Fyne and then the pub at the bottom on the water.

There have been cases of judges being linked to the companies that profit in prisons and therefore having a financial incentive for the sentences they decide. There was one case in Pennsylvania where two judges sentenced hundreds of youth offenders to detention (the crimes included things like shoplifting a chocolate bar or setting up a myspace page to poke fun at their teacher). The judges received over $2million in return for these sentences. With private firms involved in profit making in prisons there is always the danger of a conflict in interest arising when the main concern should instead be between rehabilitation and punishment.

I’ve seen them twice on my street over the course of a year and the the photos are from both times (sunny day and a dull day)

btw just noticed my car registration plate is visible but everyone else on the street seems to be blurred out (which i thought was the policy)
