    Does ctczv1 still work?

If you find yourself at the front then dont feel like you have to drive the pace and do a ‘fair’ turn, it’s not like a chaingang or other type of group riding it is just wasting energy. I see alot of strong 3rd and 4th cat riders making this mistake either thinking they are somehow obligated to keep the pace high or that they are putting the hurt on everyone else by riding hard on the front.

My usual race strategy is based on being as lazy as possible for as long as possible – Thankfully not everyone races this way otherwise it would be like a gentle sunday spin! 😀

The advice depends alot on the course – Each course has different bits you need to watch out for. Some can be really technical, lots of tight corners which will mean you have to sprint out of them all whereas others the pace remains high and the effort more constant. If there are club mates who have raced the course before then ask them for some tips, where the wind usually comes from, if there are any difficult lines through certain corners due to poor surface etc.

Be sure to have a good warm up, the pace will be hard from the gun – it will settle down a bit after about 15 minutes but by this time the lead group will likely have already lost a few riders.

If a rider doesnt have a sprint or on a hilly stage isn’t up there with the best climbers then a solo break offers them perhaps a 5% chance of victory compared to a 0% chance of victory staying with the peloton.

Although most solo breaks dont start off solo they will often be part of another breakaway group rather than the whole peloton too. So for example 8 riders might be work together and get a good gap then one of them attacks from that if they think that is their best chance of victory.

He’s available, he has a decent track record and has an ego even bigger than the players he will be coaching.

Of the other favourites for the job then Ancelotti was never a goer unless he was sacked because it would be a step down to where he is currently, Klopp wasnt interested and Simeone cant speak english.

Grant Ferguson made it to the podium in the first round of the world cup so he is clearly good enough to mix it at that level

Probably decision made not to go to Cairns as it would mean alot of travelling and potentially interfere with build up to other events

Last year was great in Scotland, but it started late too – winter seemed to linger longer into spring and it was pretty cold throughout April and into May

Yeah seems the MIU is attached, thanks for the advice. Have managed to get a cancellation at the GP today so dont need to go to the hospital now. Well i hope i dont need to go to the hospital 😀

Would have gone to the minor injuries unit but the 2 closest hospitals only seem to have an A+E 😕

I guess im in the minority but i found the cross country skiing far more exciting to watch than the slopestyle events.

Epic battles, head to head, tactics with the fastest skier wins – often with the competitors collapsing in exhaustion as soon as they made it over the finish line. The womens relay event in particular was competitive sport at its finest and (for my taste at least) was more exciting than seeing someone (no matter how talented) do some tricks then making faces at the camera and trying to look rad while the judges do the scoring.

Olympus Sports is a good call…was just a young kid when that was about but remember they had a running track around the store and i would sprint up and down that and one day Daley Thompson was there for some promotion and ‘raced’ me – I didnt know who Daley Thompson was at the time though!

Another one was Tower Records. The shop in Glasgow was great, really expensive but it was open to about midnight and had a great selection of records (particularly imports), computer games, magazines etc. And how could i forget the minidiscs and laserdiscs.

When it opened it was around about the same era as McDonalds first opened in Glasgow…hard to believe now but going for a burger, fries and milk shake there then popping into Tower Records next door felt exotic and exciting.

Bit later on then i still miss Borders Books particularly their magazine and newspaper selection, no-where else carries anything like the range they had.

You built the extension in the first place

Ive never got round to even thinking about doing anything substantial like that!

Its a very broad statement – 60% of graduates might be women but proportionally they are under represented in the subject areas where most research funding goes.

If you were to look at the percentage of researchers in arts, humanities and social science where things are a bit more balanced (or indeed where the gender balance shifts the other way) then i suspect it would be a different story.

I have there ator bibs and they are decent.

The straps in particular are good (really soft) although i prefer the overall fit and pad in assos. However at the merlin price of £55 you will struggle to get a better pair of shorts in that price range.

Radio Paradise is worth a listen – no adverts (apart from asking people to donate to support the station) and the DJs mostly stick to playing music rather than talking shite.

Since the update my uploaded data has had issues when ive had autopause on. Strangely its not an issue with my edge computer only with forerunner watch

Also i noticed if you sub – categorise rides (such as picking mountain biking rather than just cycling) it takes away some of the data like cadence, etc).

Would love a rear disk and front 5 spoke wheel for my track bike. Really dont have the legs to justify the expense though 🙁

Im in a similar position. Apparently 5700/6700 series brakes (presumably 6800 too) will work but they will feel a bit spongy compared to 5600 brakes with 5600 levers.

Assos Mille are my favourite, RRP is about £155 but they are being discontinued so you might be able to pick them up discounted. I havent tried there new range

The Assos T_Pro S2 (or similar name) you get on their outlet store is good too and is about £90…much better than anything else ive tried in that price range.

It depends on what you like though, not just in terms of how it fits but the shape of the pad. Some regard the Assos pad as too nappy like whereas that style seems to suit me whereas i find the pad on the DHB shorts to be too thin and really uncomfortable as a result.

For the last 10 years or so ive tried to go to couple of games in Europe each year (basically ive been trying to work my way through the all major derby matches) and ive been a little disappointed the couple of times i’ve been the Camp Nou. The football is top class but the atmosphere is often flat and takes away some of the spectacle however for a young football fan going there and seeing the likes of Messi play would be a dream come true. Plus it will give him some major bragging rights over his mates!

The presenters seem to get progressively worse each year – There are times i need to change the station because im cringing so much!

Then there is the self congratulatory trails / adverts about how great 6music is and even worse than that the presenters reading out of tweets or emails from people saying how great their show is.

Tough but nice choice to have! I’ve never riden a TCR but have had a demo of a Propel and it was a very nice ride – alot more compliant than i was expecting from an aero road bike. My only reservation would be over the front brake. Maybe im just a luddite but im not convinced such brakes aero advantage outweigh the slightly poorer performance.

    Sad news. 🙁

From what i gather that velodrome is used more for circuit racing with road bikes and isnt really suitable for track bikes.

Dont think so. When they were Caisse d Epargne they were red and black but prior to that when they were Banesto they had a fair bit of blue in their kit. That would be mid 90s

I think Euskatel are the only other team other than Rabobank that have had orange in recent years.

44 on the R3 for me compared to 45 on shimano

Nicely made and good value @ the reduced price of £70 or so. Have only tried them on the rollers and velodrome so far but seem comfortable and good stiff sole.

The BBC evening highlights show is utter poo

10 seconds (if that) of sports like ice hockey and long track speed skating instead they fill the programme with personality driven nonsense and then some dross about a trolley and social media shite.
