F and f 12 months ago. Shifting only played when I had a collosal crash that bent what I thought was an unbendable hanger as it was so thick.

New hanger and it’s all good again.

Sounds like standard bantz to me.

Dont make it into an issue as it isnt one.

I cant say I see the point or can feel any difference running dual ply’s. I dont get punctures running tubes & dont run low pressures as I dont like them squishing around in fast corners.

My last tubeless tyre will have a tube in it next time I swap it out.

It almost seems you need to go tubeless as its the thing to do.

I’m properly over bpw, too much riding uphill to get back to the bus depending on what trail you choose.

Wouldnt dream of going on a weekend or without a booking. Its always been fine during the week though.

Cafe – Used it once. I like a massive feast but not at lunchtime & they dont serve at the end of the day when I actually would like to eat.

I always have a much much better day at fod or bmcc, so laid back & chilled in comparison with efficient uplifts.

Er ok. Cool story? Probably a nicer place than any northern shithole thought.

Off the brakes lad. Time is meaningless. Decent distance would be more an accurate indication. But like you say, they are cheap, so don’t worry about it.

Crikey since when was 13 stone considered heavy !?

Proper tyres, dual ply or wtb tough with either tubes or tubeless pumped up to 32psi & I haven’t had a puncture or dinged a rim in years despite being a fat clumsy rider.

Never been a fan of lightweight rear tyres or low psi myself & all these inserts just look like a faff for running the wrong tyres or too low pressures or weak rims

Good PSA. I have the non finned racematriz ones on my dh bike and they are superb.

Will try them on my enduro bike with saints as sintered Shimano ones are 30 quid these days.

Lyrik. My 2018 rc2 36 is harsh. Went off piste with xfusion before and parts availability is a pain, so would stick with the common makes.

Judging by facebook microchips arent common, plenty of irresponsible owners.

If you are nice & have time take it to a vets for scanning.

If not then put it by the side of the road & local cats protection peoples fb page will go nuts when someone spots it & they will go & collect.

See if any of the cheap session 5 are available still? They were about £120 a few months back.

I never liked my full sized one but this fits under the helmet peak really well.

I did watch some old footage the other day when I had a chesty & this was really good, so I have ordered another one.

I sold my old gopro stuff a few years back in a rage when they introduced the pissboiling software update that forced a logon on your phone before you could use it.

But the session 5 was such a bargain i couldnt resist & by loading an older version & not updating it bypasses this annoyance.

I read the thread title & though ‘bet its a maxxis’ !

    Bin it & move on.

I always thought it was because they were so thin, but ive had a brand new bontrager dh tyre that was buckled after fitting.

It’s almost as easy to make food for 6 as it is for 1.  Next time you make, say, a spag bol, make half a dozen portions then eat one, stick one in the fridge

Tried that. Didnt work. Mmm that was tasty, might just have a little bit more ..

I was under the imoimpress that the new hose could be used in place if the old  but not vise versa. With the correct insert and olive od course.

Used to cook healthy, but ate far too much of it!

I doubt it will damage it further. I’m so insensitive I don’t tend to notice failed rebound on a succession of failed cane creeks and X2 apart from the carpark test.

However I do attribute my worst 2 crashes to failed rebound, getting pinged over the bars after jumping and 5 days in hospital, so I wouldn’t use it again till it was fixed.

Just imagine the damage occuring unseen to all the internal cabled frames.

Very much a thing. My old commy meta v3 had virtually sawn through the fork steerer tube due to the internal cabling when I took it apart to change the headset.

Airdrop edit currently, 34lb or so.  Very good bike for smashing the descents, a bit heavy & I dont think it pedals particularly well.

£1000 tops for that age & wheelsize. The different size between my trailbike & my old 26″ dh annoyed me. I prefer having both at 650 now as I can make better use of tyres.

old talent – you do realise that in any other european country you would be paying muych more?

Are you really so selfish that you are prepared for those less fortunate than you to be in dire poverty and illhealth  so you pay a bit less?

Want scandenavian style public services then you have to pay for them thru tax

Want US style services – go there.  You are not welcome here

    Answers below

In not in an European country, so I dont care.

    yep

    im not in scandinavia

In not in the US, but I prefer their model.

    All good suggestions thanks.

I hadn’t realised I would need a press per bearing size. Obvious when thinking about it.

    Where is it all going?

    Foreign aid & dole scum.

As a single male higher rate tax payer I pay plenty, get little for my money and am sick of subsidising others existence.

So its very much a no from me.

Well im going the shigura route, or shagura as it suits my puerile mind better.

Shimano lever with a magura caliper. The mt5/mt7 calipers are identical.

Info below to help others who may be considering this.

The exact information is scattered across the internet but a huge thread here helped massively.

    https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/magura-mt7-mit-shimano-xtr-trail-hebeln.751103/page-53

Use a magura hose. Why? The shimano hose has a bigger dia banjo hole and will be difficult to seal on the magura caliper.

Use a magura barb. Why? The barb is the best fit into the magura hose. The shimano bh90 2.1mm barb will work, but is a little loose. The bh59 2.3mm barb may fit but will be very tight.

Use a shimano olive. Why? Its the best fit into the shimano lever.  Shimano olives appear the same, so 1 from either kit above will work.

Use a shimano compression nut. Why? The magura nut is a different size and wont fit.

You will also need the shimano compression nut cover.

Oil is personal choice, magura blood or shimano oil.

Lever is personal choice. Saint is my preferred option.

Most (all?) bike can break. Its how the manufacturer deals with it that differentiates them. Good luck with the transition anyway.

Yes the brakes are very strong particularly with  uber race matrix pads.

Yes bleeding is a massive pita compared to saints which can be done easily with the marshy syndicate gravity bleed.

What I should have asked is why does the lever creep back to the bars after maintaining pressure on it for 20 seconds or so?

If air was in it I would have though the lever would be spongy – its not.

All I can think of is the master cylinder seals are leaking allowing fluid back from the pressure side to the reservoir?

Also seen that. From what I can tell the originals are just considered too long?

Depends on how big your hands are. They fit my gorilla hands well but have to be well inboard for 1 finger usage.

I will clarify when I say a fullface I mean a vented one, a fox proframe in this instance. A normal ff would be pretty unpleasant, but then so would faceplanting into rock with a half helmet.

Proper tyres, non of these snakeskin tracing paper thin rubbish.

Parts are pricey. I  crashed more in a week there than I thought possible. Still wince at paying 55 euros for a shimano rotor after I bent it.

    Brake pads.

I took a half helmet never used it, wont bother with it this year. fullface only.

I’ve always like my MT5s, but they’ve been greatly improved with some XTR levers

Shimano or magura hoses/olives fittings  etc?

Certainly the shimano hose has a much bigger dia hole in the rear banjo, so would not be a great fit to the mag caliper, which leads me to believe it would be better to stick with the magura hoses & hope they fit the shimano levers.

I should say I’m a massive fan of saints. Nearly 4 years on another bike with zero issues. Like the feel, love the power.

I have a financial commitment to the magura though, £100+ on pads and a brake hose so far. So I either throw more money at them by changing the lever assembly with the risk that doesn’t help, or just splash out on saints and be done with it. At least I would have the same on both bikes then also.

Might get more attention in the bike section.

Probably not on here unless they had a gravel or cx route!

Logically I would have thought firecrest or bike1 would take over the running of this place.

Unfortunately I’m not quite local enough to be able to assist but do hope they get the required support as it’s a brilliant place.

“It’ll just be me doing the driving an 05 plate Berlingo with no air con or cruise control, hence I’m querying my ability to do it in one hit. I don’t want to be driving whilst heavily fatigued.”

I did it once with no cruise control, never again. Fitted a 3rd party once for the next year. Would still do it in 1 hit though. Fuelled on redbull you will be fine im sure.
