I build up a 4k am bike late last year. However all the riding we have started doing since march is more pushup or uplift, so I got a dh bike, right tool for the job and all that.
Not really sure what I’m going to use the am bike for now to be honest apart for 1 or 2 enduros a year.

I fitted 2 new tyres without checking the logo alignment to the rims. By pure bloody luck they were both within 10mm.
I should have bought a lottery ticket that day.

No one I know or ride with uses strava. We prefer racing each other in real life.

Yep as above. I do wish these places with doubles had a tabletop next to them, of the same size, to help build confidence.

oldtalent was that you on the YT on Fri? I was on the Norco.

Yep that was me! Already booked again for the 3rd August. Also doing revolution bike park on the 2nd for the first time.
Fingers crossed for good weather again.

I was at bpw last thursday & stiniog on friday. Fantastic weather both days. Stiniog is savagely rough, the youtube videos wont prepare you. Feature wise though there is less big stuff at stiniog. Obviously everyone has a different definition of big stuff, but bpw has some big features on the blacks imo, especially 50 shades.
I tagged onto someone who had been before, thanks john & tony! So got me up to speed quicker than if I had been fannying around on my own.
The stiniog uplift is ridiculously efficient compared to bpw.

I have mary trailstar on the front of my enduro bike, its very good, replaced the hans damp.
However my dh bike has a minion (supertacky) front & rear & I must say, they are the grippiest tyres I have ever used.
At 15st I use 30psi at the rear & 27 at the front.
Must book fod uplift soon, ive only ever pushed up.

I like mine, Ive bounced down the trail a few times in it. Shoulder still hurts 5 weeks later, I think it would be considerably worse if I didnt have it on.
Difficult to get off when hot & sweaty, look a right tool in the carpark jigging around trying to get it over my head.
I was so impressed I bought the protective undershorts also.
Comes up large so go a size down.

I don’t care about ethics. I only go in there for their £1 chocolate deals. I do this far more often than I should. Damn you co-op and your special offers.

Just bought my 1st DH bike at 45, loving it! Once I get too decrepit then it will be an ebike for mtb.
If I ever find myself considering road cycling at any age, then I will book myself a one way ticket to Switzerland.

Entry fee sounds fine, its my hobby after all. Full face I agree with. However the insurance sounds a faff “Bespoke Financial Ltd contact them now using the form below and they will call you with a quote.” and all the locations sound too far away.
I’m out I’m afraid, will stick to grassroots events.
