Can’t agree strongly enough re trying before you buy. Coming from a steel hardtail you may well be shocked at how different f/s feels – and it’s not all good!
I’ve owned 3 f/s and have ended up back with my (old) Superlight as it feels closest to my steel h/t (which I sold recently but only cos my back needs protection 🙁 ).

Did some research before I used it. There are some folk who see it as heresy but plenty of others who have used various substitutes and are still here to tell the tale. And more to the point, have forks that are working well. I’ll let you know if I have any problems.

If you like the sound of the Squier CVs get one. When I was looking around a couple of places said they thought the CV is better build quality than Mex Fenders, although the p/ups aren’t quite as good.
Mid range Yamaha Pacificas are worth looking at.

I stayed here [/url] a year ago. Right next door to Chinatown, loads of great bars and restaurants nearby, not far from the Wharf etc.

Honesty is everything for STW classifieds. Buyer was probably a little naive not asking for pics, but if a seller says ‘without any marks anywhere’ then it’s reasonable not to expect any.
Sounds like a lower price and sold with ‘normal wear and tear’ was possibly a more reasonable deal (but pics needed – one man’s ‘wear and tear’ is a nother man’s ‘knackered’!).

I’m a yearling newbie so know stuff all, but I was well impressed with the CV Strat and Tele when I was looking for a new guitar a few weeks ago. Tone was great and only the machine heads looked slightly low quality – even thing else looked, felt and sounded great. Hard to come by in left hand flavour at a decent price so I didn’t get one.
