424s are good if you don’t mind black placcy cage – they’re either covered in mud or under your shoe so what the h*ll.

Luddite no, numpty yes. Can’t be bothered finding my way around programmes which from what I’ve seen are less than straightforward. Oh yeah, and I believe it or not actually ENJOY getting the shot I want, which is what it’s all about.

Can’t be a*sed photoshopping etc, still like to get the shot in camera as I did on film (eg not very often in spite of taking a heap of frames!).

sfb – bad choice of words, I meant a very wide nikkor would be huuuugely expensive whereas I think a wide D lens from e.g. sigma wouldn’t be as expensive. If you get my drift…..

16mm prime is going to be expensive, so I guess it’s a new D lens….

*****!!! Sorry hit send by mistake….. Anyways, take a look at the link above. I was after a Blizzard before I bought the sanderson about 3 years ago. RM make great looking frames, but the Blizzard/Vertex top tube is on the short side. LBS had a Sanderson hanging up, once I had a closer look & slung a leg over one I was sold. I ended up with the 16″, very similar geometry to Kona explosif, running rebas on it at around 100mm. Makes me smile every time I ride it.

I’ve never understood the anti-SC brigade on here – talking to folk on the trails I’ve never heard anything but praise from owners, inc exes.
I bought a S/Light a few years ago. Was also considering an Orange 5, finally made my mind up after speaking to both factories about their products. O couldn’t be a*sed, SC couldn’t have been friendlier.
I’ve ridden mates’ Hecklers, would love one meself. As somebody else pointed out you can build it up lightish or for biggger stuff – your choice, from what I’ve seen they do it all very, very well. Try one………..

A four hour ride in Brazil – BIG hills and technical riding, wasn’t helped by the temperature going from 26 degrees when we set out to 35 3 hours later. I was stuffed for days.
