Jumping on the bandwagon, anybody want a 315 F2 board complete with lairy tribal (???) graphics, 2 decent FB sails, adjustable clamp boom and mast??? Northants for pickup within next 2 weeks. Fast and easy to sail, had me laughing several times 🙂

I find the comparisons to Streatham and Soho ridiculous.

Depends on the experience in either……….

Well looks like I’m a lone voice……. People have certainly had a rough time of it here – I’ll bear it in mind and keep my guard up. As for the OP – couldn’t recommend moving to SA given all that’s been written above.

Really not THAT bad! Yes there’s some bad stuff goes on, but then there was when I lived in Streatham in S London some years ago! There’s a helluva lot that is good about the place……

This place is near Pretoria, around 40 mins drive from Jo’burg on a Sunday morning. fun to blat around for 2 or 3 hours, in amongst the antelope etc :). Loads of big rides further afield.

b_s_n – I’m living in Jo’burg at the moment. I enjoy it but don’t have young kids and have lived in similar places before (Sao Paulo for 3 years) so the security situation hasn’t fazed me (yet). I only got the chance to go because a colleague’s wife didn’t take to it. They had young kids.
There’s a pretty active mtb scene (although I’ve yet to get into it). You’re welcome to get in touch if you want to know more.

As above – go for it (even if the urge goes it’ll be back again!), and try to do the training in one hit. Get a bit of experience then book some ‘roadcraft’ training. I did a day of one to one, didn’t lead to any kind of certificate but it was great fun and taught me a helluva lot.
Maybe you won’t enjoy it, but there’s a good chance you will. Bikes are ace :).

Yup some of it’s rough, but most is just fine thank you. Stick to studio recorded mp3 if you don’t like a little bit of soul in your music!

Sold my 04 955i in the summer, but only because I moved away from the UK. I loved the thing, great character and more than capable for road work. I put ‘comfort bars’ and a lower screen on mine which meant I appreciated the speed I was doing and could ride more comfortably on slow stuff. Would buy another without a second thought.

Been there too Hadge, happened to one of my closest mates 15 years ago and I still think of him whenever I’m doing something he would have enjoyed. As others have said celebrate his life and make even more of your own.

I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. I first bought an old 2nd hand Yam Pacifica, which I still have but had the pickups and all the electrics upgraded a while ago as when I wanted to upgrade (sound familiar??) I couldn’t find anything for a few hundred quid which sounded better. Went through the Vintage LP stage too – got rid, nice but very heavy. I also have a handmade Telecaster which I bought for £80 on ebay, and a cheap semi acoustic Ibanez. Yes, guitars are like bikes!
I bought a really nice little Kustom Contender combi amp which now sits on top of a 1X12 cab – I agree with whoever said to spend a bit on an amp.
Lessons – I had a few to get the basics in place, and then went to Justin[/url] for more tips.
I can play a few known riffs, but most of the time I just noodle away for a while playing whatever notes sound good together 🙂
    Enjoy!

That was my aim, but Virgin say it will be checked as hand luggage and then taken off me at the door to be put in part of the hold used for fragile items…….

Another with a DB Ascent – in blue. Then a DB Apex in natural finish, killer looks with Smoke+Dart skinwalls 😆 Fond memories…. Both nicked by thieving scumbags during Hungarian winter – I couldn’t get into the garage because of the ice, how on earth did they???
Now I’ve come over all nostalgic……..

As TJ said, he’s on the power early – just shows clever electronics are not the only way to control it, although I appreciate it’s not in the same league as a Beemer RR. Can hear the tyres chirping too, presumably without the aid of abs!

I’ve put ‘comfort bars’ on my 955 which makes slower rides more fun, has a gel seat and heated grips. I love it to bits, but am selling it because I’ve taken a new job and won’t be around to ride 🙁

I had a look at the 800 Beemers before I bought the Daytona. Nice bikes but a wee bit bland I thought.

Know it’s not particularly helpful, but I think Antwerp is more fun – not so chocolate box pretty, but more to do.

Can’t make a run in late June, if anybody is riding anywhere near Northants/Oxon/Bucks over the bank holiday weekend let me know as I’m about to sell the Triumph 🙁

One of the last RSP ti frames built for the factory team. It was a tad too small for me but still regret selling it 🙁

    Your CV is more important

I disagree – it might get you through an initial sift but if you can’t back it up with the more detailed input they’ve asked for then you’re stuffed.

As hilldodger said make a connection between your professional aspirations (ahem) and the company, and how that benefits both parties. an opportunity to show how much you know about them and how keen you are 😉 Excuse the HR-BS.

Aaah Mint Sauce. Coincided with my getting into mountain bikes, just seemed to sum it all up very nicely. Brake boosters, PooBahs, dart/smokes. Sigh.

I’ve serviced a pair of Revs recently, deffo worth the effort – and if I can do it anybody can.
The only problems I had were getting the right o rings in the right places (a few are almost the same size but not quite – get it wrong and you’ll lose oil and/or air), and make sure you completely deflate the airspring before removing the circlip!!!
    Good luck.

sram kit is fine, in some ways better than the equivalent shimano, worse in others. They do feel different so try them before you decide to discount one or other.

johnsquiresplectrum hasn’t sent my item or responded to emails since Easter, and I’m not the only one. His paypal name is very similar to Martyn Gray too.
