no droppage with my 32 tooth Race Face N/W ring with an 11-36 cassette and fancy pants XO mech on my FS

I dropped the chain once with the same mech and cassette on my HT, which was running a double

hypothetically you could look for a hilly area, narrow your search to flat/downhill segments (i.e. exclude categorised climbs), switch to satellite view to allow higher magnification, and then pan around until you find the most ridden trails, making sure they have the right kinda gradient, identify when they have been ridden quickly, and by whom, find the next climb, plan the next descent (especially the end of the segment!), and see how many achievements you can rack up over your strava-optimised route.

I couldn’t possibly condone this sort of behaviour though.

Check their facebook page, usually quite good for trail updates

The “Bike park” was shut on Sunday, along with the parallel “DH” run. Only a couple of trees down elsewhere. One or two big lakes still, but a couple have been drained.

Considering how wet it’s been it’s not doing too badly.

Take a change of clothes obvs.

I do love mine fpor the reasons above although I’m worried about the longtivity of the drawstring

switch to satellite view, and you can zoom in further and detect the segments. Refine your search by excluding categorised climbs. You’ll be better off in an area with better drainage though as it’s pretty grim out there atm

I too got a bit impatient whilst waiting for a new rocket, and so I plumped for…….a rocket (2nd hand)! A small part of me is disappointed that it’s not ‘Made in UK’ but then I do have this great bike, right now. Given how much I’m enjoying it I’m incredibly happy to see this news and wish Cotic and BML the best of luck for the future.

and may I just echo what mugboo just said about apprenticeship schemes. We’ve got a really good one here at work and it’s fantastic to see so many youngsters getting proficient. It just opens up so many possibilities for getting small batches of stuff turned around quickly

I took the green rim strip off, and used a single layer of the rim tape, which came with the rhyno lite rim strips.

Both my used TLR NN 2.25 and 2.4 seated and inflated almost immediately using a track pump, and a bit of soapy water, although once I’d worn the 2.25 out I had to cut it off the rim.

    Woodthorpe Tandoori’s ok.

Bread & Bitter is great though. Busy but provided you’re there in decent time you should be able to get a table, good grub and great booze.

Less than a mile up the road from Woodthorpe towards town in Sherwood though you also have Le Mistral French bistro, Ginza Teppan Yaki, Wetherspoons, Kiosk, and a few Chinese/Indian takeaways

I’ve almost stopped using our ErgoBaby. He’s 3 in January. His sister’s just turned 6. We’ve used it every day. It’s even seen trail centre use.

Lots of decent short sharp stuff within riding distance of the city centre. Strava is a good place to start looking.

I’ve really enjoyed my visits to Pines this year and even in the wet it’s quick. It’s not as if you have limitless traction when it’s dry either.

Nothing beats a big day out in the Derwent river valley though.

I’ll second that. I’ll even admit to walking up hell’s teeth on the 2nd and 3rd loop
