Junkyard, sorry but I didn’t understand a word of that.

Too many Guardian readers on here, I think.

If your source is only Spotify, I’d go for the all in one. Is the kids’ disco likely to be repeated though?

Try Samsung. I bought one in December with a five year guarantee included for free. So far it’s performing very well, at least according to Mrs Oldboy!

Gunz, I wasn’t suggesting you sell it, just trying to make a point about the longevity of Ti. I only sold mine because I wanted discs and the Litespeed Ti hardtail I have now is awesome. BWTF do I know!

Hey Gunz, check out what vintage Kona Hei Hei Ti frames are going for on Retrobike Forum – about £600 at the last check. I don’t think 15 year old carbon/steel/alu frames are going to retain that sort of value!

Exactly my point ….. so much for authenticity.

Why does every scene look like a museum set? At the time all those mills were brand new!

Hey, hummer, you’re not a heavyweight. Anyway, what’s all the Ti prejudice on this forum?

    oldboy

I’ve ridden Ti frames exclusively for over 15 years without any problems, but I’m only 130lbs wet through. I wonder; are all the cracked frames ridden by heavyweights?

I’ve been thinking about that when a basic Stihl costs less than £250.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Sounds like they work well, but if the battery needs charging after 10 metres then it will have to be petrol, as l have at least five times that much hedge, unfortunately. The laurel section is very tall for which I need a long reach trimmer. I agree with the Stihl comments, but their cheapest long reach model is well over £500! I’ll have another think about it.

Thanks again for the constructive comments.

I have a Litespeed Ti hard tail and currently building up a Litespeed road frame. Love Ti to bits. My last Ti hard tail frame was a 1998 Kona, which I just sold on Retrobike Forum for £600 to a guy in the Far East. With new decals it looked as good as the day I bought it. I’ve read all the titanium horror stories on here and I suggest they account for only a small percentage of the frames in current use.

Is the finish on the Pro matt like the SL anyone?

    oldboy

The Pro has a different (lower) grade of carbon and a more forgiving ride, I believe.

Got my 54cm (med) SL on Friday and now thinking the Pro might better suit my standard of riding. Still boxed, so if anyone on here wants it at cost + delivery please email me for pics etc. These are actually selling on eBay for £650! (Hey, might even consider it myself :-) )

Just heard my SL 54cm arrives tomorrow. I have some nice new FSA SL-K stuff, unused, but will the red K logo compromise the cool black/white of the frame? :-) Wheels will be new Kysrium Elite and groupset mostly Ultegra, for now. If you’re finger is dithering over the buy button go for it, ‘cos life’s too short guys.

Just ordered a 54cm and 5.05% Topcashback discount as well. No more temptation on here please!

I lived through the 70s, and Britain was in serious trouble before she came to power.
I don’t agree with all her policies, but she’ll go down in history as a great leader. R.I.P.

3×2 and insulation wool won’t work. You need to use dedicated materials and you have to effectively isolate the acoustic barrier from the party wall. I researched this extensively and in the end bought a detatched house.

You all fell for this thread, guys! These God-botherers will do anything to try to engage you in any sort of dialogue so that they can spout the mumbo jumbo I’ve read on the last five pages.

Frequently described as “the benchmark wheelset at the price”. I’m currently building them into my first road bike based on that recommendation alone!!

    +1 for Retrobike forum.

I sold every last part of my 1998 Kona Hei Hei on there last year, and got almost £600 for the Ti frame alone!! Check out the garage guys, there may be some value there.

When I was a lad in the West Riding of Yorkshire the ginger beer culture that was passed on from house to house was called Albert, or was it just on our street?

A 12 inch trunk is easy to dig out, 2 hours max, a decent mattock and the trunk cut to a 3-4ft stump. You have to persist and not let it get the better of you mentally. You WILL get it out eventually.

Thanks, that’s encouraging. Unfortunately, stump is less than 1ft, so nothing there for leverage. I just hope it doesn’t have a tap root!
