I use MakeMKV. Free Beta software (at the present), just update the access code on a monthly basis. Dead easy to use!

If cannabis were ever made legal the government/NHS would immediately issue recommended weekly splif units to try to spoil all the fun.

How do you post a handlebar these days?

Last bar I sold I packed in a cardboard tube. Royal Mail have a different rate/size reg for these.

Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts by Bob Dylan. Although just one of his many wonderful story songs.

I get annoyed with the “min fill” mark on the side of our kettle – follow that and you ending up boiling enough water to fill a bath!

I once had a European cycling holiday (a compromise situation for my GF!) and the Americans on the tour all had these.

I ran about 2000/3000 miles a year for 20 years. My knees are f**ked now and wish I hadn’t! I guess cycling doesn’t have similar consequences.

On foot is the only way; looking after bikes or trying to park the car nearby will spoil the day IMHO.

This isn’t me :-) my GF has my tablet and these are her words:

Well my boy slept with us in the Moses basket until he was six months, it took two weeks of sleepless nights to settle him into his cot in another room, but it was worth it. The cot (from IKEA) then changed into a bed which he slept in until he was around two and a half. We got him a proper bed when he was three. The only problem with the bed was that he could get out of it but as long as you don’t give in and let the baby back in your bed you should be ok

Killing any animal is totally against my Karma think of it as a life that was born just like you,it is a sentient being, it feels pain, hunger and cold, just like all us do.

Haven’t read the thread, but what about Dave Spart? That just about covers all the sixth form (bully boy) Marxists on here.

With interest rates so low Premium Bonds might actually be a reasonable option. I used to shop around to find a home for my savings, but now moving an account for just a 0.25% gain just isn’t worth the effort!

Big steam fan here, but the old Woodhead line held special childhood memories. The sight and sound of a double headed coal train exploding out of the tunnel at Dunford Bridge was something to behold.

Yup, and we are united by our common tribal ancestry which has left us all with a desire to belong to a group, to have an affinity for those like us, and to distrust those who aren’t like us.

How much we are able to, or choose to use our intelligence to filter our genetic predispositions in deciding who’s “like us” and who’s “not like us” is a very interesting subject. – off to try and find some interesting articles.

The Human Zoo by Desmond Morris explains this quite well. Haven’t read it since my late teens, though, so I may be wrong.

SD looks awful on my 55″ TV, which I bought for watching Blue ray and broadcast HD content. The GF watches her trash TV programmes on it in SD and couldn’t care less about picture quality :-)

What’s all this nonsense about wiring in series? It’s all wired in parallel. Lighting circuits are usually daisy chained (correctly called a radial circuit, I believe), but the circuit itself is still in parallel.

however…… Then one part of us thinks is it best to leave the bikes at home and walk it because we may struggle to stay near the front having to watch the bikes……..

Entirely agree, bikes could be a real millstone on the day.

A good assessment, BWDog, but you wouldn’t believe the number of people I’ve already met who’ve expressed the vague idea of just strolling up there on the day – and that’s just the locals! :-)

Phoned BT before the holiday and told them I wasn’t going to pay it. I was immediately advised that I could have it for free if I signed up with them for a further 12 months. Told them “no thanks” and my 01571 and Caller Display service disappeared overnight.
