That’s my old Caad10 disc in the picture – loved that bike, should never have sold it!

I have some Lake MX180 that are pretty much ideal for all weather except summer. Might be a bit heavy on a 100 mile road ride though

    Cheers all.

Think I’m still favouring the Resolute based on the reviews – hopefully they may size up big.

Sendero look good as does the Mezcal but maybe too MTB still.

I’ll keep looking for a few days first so anymore suggestions welcome

I’m properly useless with things like this but gave it a go on my last 2 buys.

First one I bought a cheaper hardtail kit (was still about £30) and rushed it and it was crap, took half of it off and it got mucky on the edges straight away.

Second time on full suss I bought the invisiframe kit and I spared a week to do it, just did a few pieces each night for an hour or so each night and was much better and less stressful! The invisiframe kit was also much easier to fit and the edges don’t gather muck, or what does gather just washes off.

I’d get the proper kit again and just take loads of time with plenty breaks, using loads of water too incase your need to move it before you squeezed it too much.

Although I’d probably just not bother unless it was for a frame that I want to keep/ been a big investment to me personally.

Chain Reaction custom build hope front wheel. Have 20mm axle non boost from hubs and choice of rims from about £130.

Or buy the hub and have it built onto an existing rim.

I did this one the other week and it was great I thought. Personally I thought it was a hard ride and was pretty knackered and aching. Glad I didn’t to the 27m option.

Not looked at your route so apologies if the same/similar. I just downloaded it to my Wahoo Bolt and followed it.

    Ladybower Loop – Medium

I really like Sherwood too but this was very very different to that, very rocky, great fun and I found it pretty challenging in spots too (I’m pretty crap though). But it is the Peaks v what is a tame trail centre route. I’d do it before the winter kicks in.

I think wheelsmith sell their rims on their own too. Had a set of their full wheels and they were great

    Some good ones on here.

I’ve done the pedal on wrong side of crank, flummoxed me for a good minute how it was catching the frame.

I also cut a dropper post wire down and fitted it, the realised I’d not put the cable through the internal routing.

Best one is putting a new dropper behind the car while I put the bike on the roof to take to the shop to have it fitted, forgot to pick it up and put in car and duly reversed over it.

If you can do Sheffield/Rotherham then go to JE James, they had good stock levels and Sheffield had 3 makes and Rotherham 2 different makes. Or they did when I went last year to do the same. Not far to drive from one to another.

I ended up with the Dainese ones and price matched, nothing like the size chart suggested either (I was between small and medium on the chart and then ended up buying large). All the other makes felt weird to me, but the. A few of us bought at the same time and all had diff preferences so best to try several makes as you say.

    Cannondale Synapse FSA SL-K Carbon Seatpost 25.4 x 350mm

Worth ringing qwerty too if you want the Save one – they do them at £90 but not in stock, but being spares specialists for Cannondale they might get one quick.

My old set did that and I made it go by not having the reach all the way in, just a tiny little out sorted it out.

Maybe check what the reach is set at?

I had the same issue last year and it was 1 month out of warranty – got the same options as you and just went for the straight swap. I don’t ride nights much anymore as I can fortunately manage more in daylight, so may have gone for the upgrade if this wasn’t the case, or got the same and sold/replaced with a newer model.

I was a bit disappointed as it was the first night ride of winter when I noticed the fading and it hadn’t been on since Spring, if I’d switched it on a month earlier it would have been warrantied. I thought they might have still done this one as they are usually really good with issues and have sorted my pals out with some issues outside warranty, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere.

Mowgli did you spec that with Rival 22 for the same price?

    Looks sweet.

Was a no brainier for me to upgrade to GX Eagle from SlX 11 speed. Cost me just over £100 after selling the old bits and getting the Eagle full set cheap through Halfords.

It was more the 10 speed cog for me and to a lesser extent the 50. I use both each ride I’d say and in the majority a 32 front ring keeps me in the middle of the cassett for most situations. 11 speed 11-42 always seemed a comprimise to me from 2×11, but 12 speed 10-50 properly replaced 2x 11 for me.

Shifting is better as well for me

I have the 2017 Carbon that I built up – the 140 front 125 rear. It’s brilliant. I’m definitely more on the trail side or wherever it’s called these days – is call it xc really, not enduro. It goes up well it goes along well and it goes down well, an all rounder I’d say and really good fun to ride.

Maxxis are very narrow in 2.35 compared to WTB and Schwalbe

im using a minion ss on the back and I don’t think it’s worth the small rolling improvement over the grip of the dhr ii it replaced, which I’m gonna put back on.

Mate has just got the new nobby nic addix and he loves it, much better than the old so maybe a good choice.

Cheers all much appreciated! Sounds like you all love the bike.

So if head tube entry for cables is tight do you think a braided hose could be an issue? Although suppose easy enough to hangs to a normal hose if necessary.

ill prob get my lbs to build it tbh as I’m crap at most remotely technical building!

Decathlon’s clear glasses are as good as anything I’ve tried. I got 3 pairs for a tenner. Just bin them when they get too scratched up.

No hole in the bottom of the steerer unfortunately.

I’ll give the raceblades a go. At least they come off easy so can whip them off when it’s not as wet.

Cheers guys. Presumably these be the rear half coverage ones that tie on to the fork?

    Anyone got 35mm tyres underneath?

Try taking by the rear mech clutch off. Seen multiple reports recently of dodgy Shimano clutch mechs making climbing really tough.

Presumably yours came with the mounts included. Only all the reviews I have seen said they don’t come with them and it’s quite hard to get them aftermarket outside the US. Although seen a couple of options to buy them.

How high up is the light when mounting using the bar mount? Did look at that but looked like the go pro plus connecter option may give a much lower height, like the exposure mounts that fits in helmets with open vent holes?

I’ll nip up to the shop tomorrow and see what’s in the box.

So if you have an exposure light you have to pay approx another 50 quid all in to get it to fit this helmet well. That’s pretty shocking!

Shame as it’s a fantastic helmet.

Cheers guys. The Tiagra is £950 and given the above I think I’ll give it a whirl!
