Nice real world set up Oink. Ran the same amplification with CDX and Sondek as sources, thru ES14’s. Really nicely balanced, and I think I’m correct in saying Epos developed their early models with Naim amplification so one would expect the synergy to be good.

Yes – I believe they were developed with Naim amplification in mind. I would describe my system as “neutral’ and have been very happy with it since the mid ’90’s when I took all the gear I had at the time into my local Radford HiFi, part x’ed it all and splurged on my ideal system!! YOLO and you can’t take it with you etc. Im just dreading the day I have to get the 250 re-capped! 8O

Fatbike lends its self to pootling imo. I like riding round the endless paths where I live, as I used to do as a school kid. Pumping the bike on the drop kerbs and seeing how far I can go without peddling :D

Charlie the bikemonger has them on offer – if i dont get on with them I’ll just save up for some carbon ones….

Proper job-fixed/re gassed 1000’s of systems on my career and you can not do a good job with one of those top up things – you need to vacuum the system for it to draw the new refrigerant in, Plus as mentioned it will highlight any leaks or compressor issues. The correct way is Recover. vacuum, hold (Checking for leaks), recharge. Whole process takes about 45 minutes depending on where the Hi/Lo system connectors are hidden :-) You only need to inject oil if the compressor or another significant component has been changed. Dye can be injected during (as part of the automated process) or separately afterwards.

Im guessing thats a ‘not designed to run tubeless without a faff, so don’t come whinging to us’ type of warning. I doubt death would be imminent :D

May is on her way out and is struggling to hold on to some semblance of power now. She’s a dead parrot.
