what? did you miss the mid ’90s or did you just decide to skip the whole ‘pimp my ride’ with the latest kit

yes, the wheels were shit – broke easily
yes, the forks were just big water pistols
and yes red was never my colour

but oh my it was fun!

have owned 3 san andreases, 2 mohos and 1 shockwave over the years and loved the monocoque, but can honestly say that i’m finding hard to like these new bikes

This was the best bike i’ve owned, which gave me the most enjoyment – it was years ahead of anything else at the time too, in ’94 before V-brakes – it had disc brakes, 4″ suspension and was light to boot. I wouldn’t, however, swap it for my current bikes as technology as improved the ride and feel.

i dont care about spelling or written words so much, I spend so much time writing code that has to be perfect that i liek to not concentrate so much when i’m just typing out shite like this (especially in an informal environment) – if it sounds/looks similar to what it is and people get the gist it doesnt matter to me – it can also be re-read so you can make sure what was written, was meant. with the spoken word, that isnt available, so accuracy is more important

people using less instead of fewer – is the one i’m usually vocal about

but when people fall fowl of RAS syndrome, or tautology or pleonasm I just tend to cringe

I use class 4 16gb cards in my go pro hd, have about 5 of them

spend your money on a spare battery as you’ll most likely get through that faster than the cards

Can you get a copy of premiere pro cs5 – this is what i use and even on my 4 year old machine (dual core 2.4ghz 6GB ram), its smooth, no pre encoding required and for me the advantage of having a vimeo hd export setting is perfect…

most of the best ‘natural’ trails up there have been dug and shaped and then ridden in, some have been routed through or over interesting features

I think you’ll find it hard breaking one of the gopros when its in its case. Watching some footage of a guy on a motorbike with one strapped to his head, doing a back flip and then landing on his head, whilst the camera continued to film sold it to me. I’ve since smashed them into rocks/trees/rivers and no damage done yet.
I also bought mine through pinkbike – got the HD gopro helmet mount one for £180 without having to pay import duty – just took a while longer than buying here.

I went building elsewhere and am now very happy – also found some very well hidden (and well built) networks with nowhere near the number of riders that the surrey hills gets.

The only building I do up there now is maintaining my old trails, where people straightline sections or if it needs draining. Haven’t built a new trail on those hills for over 3 years.

not getting better – as in lots of swelling and instability in the leg

I had similar, xray showed nothing, but 2 months on and not getting better – got an MRI to discover a snapped ACL and torn MCL
I should have got an MRI earlier – was 6 months before I could do any sensible exercise – 3 years on, better – but i’ll never run again

i have a new vito – no problems with it, theyve had galvanised bodies since 2007. Mine is the 208bhp one – shifts, 8secs 0-60 6 seats, can take 5 bikes and people without taking bikes apart. Only bought it for biking duties.

40mpg out of a mercedes vito 120cdi, 208bhp, unless i hoon it, in which case 25-30mpg
    – not bad for a six seater van

i’m assuming you’re unscrewing the front (orange bit), after that the filter should just lift off. Changing them does make a difference

    DW Split Pivot design

    Trek copy?

Strictly trek have copied DW. They filed for their patent AFTER he had his. But trek being as large as they are I doubt they’ll license off DW

barking and dagenham is cheap – epping forest isnt too far for some ok riding – bit shit in the wet mind,

dagenham has a very very good bmx track though if you're into little wheels too
and romford has a good concrete skate park

I prefered the way you could search for things like colours/size/etc.. of things in the list whereas now you have to click on each to find this out
