Some people understand the issues involved with civil rights, unfortunately many more don’t.

You could argue that in the case of the USA they have, and former USSR they did.

As for delivery systems, nuclearising scuds or ‘D’PRK medium range missiles would be the quick and dirty option, along with a fall-back RDD option for storage in the embassies located in the captitals of likely agressors.

    20/10/01.

I woke up in hospital some twelve hours after being knocked off my bike while crossing the A27 Tesco roundabout during the morning rush hour. I couldn’t remember what had happened and strangely, nor could the many other drivers who must’ve seen the incident. Though largely unharmed, I had to have part of my ear sewn back togther and suffered severe headaches for ten weeks afterward. I was shown my helmet when I released myself from hospital the next day (they wanted to keep me for three days for observation) a third of it was sheared right off. I went cold when I thought that it might have been my head…

Helmets? I’d recommend them but would vigorously oppose compulsion.

How would we feel if we had to develop our nuclear facilities along the lines set by, and offer them up to, inspection by Iran?

It would make Israel think twice about repeating the Dimona attack, it may also make the US think again about expanding its’ military presence in the region.

And let’s not forget the oppressive security, the special olympic infrastructure that will go to waste and weeds once the games are over, the locals being excluded from ‘their’ games, the social dislocation involved in creating the olympic venues, the waste of resouces that could have been better used in the community without the artificial forcing of a deadline…

That sounds difficult! I’m torn between ignoring the whole farce or bringing a fire extinguisher along, if I could be ars*d to ride a few miles to make the point.

It was probably unhooked so as not to drag on a buckled wheel. I’ve seen plenty of bikes ridden with the brakes disconnected.

Unfortunately this forum, as with most others, has it’s share of knobs. The solution is not to leave but to stand your ground, this is YOUR forum, not theirs.

Why is the UK wasting vast amounts of money and court time, no doubt to be followed by the cost of the prison sentences, for an issue that should be dealt with by the relevant sporting authorities?

Merkel and Sarkozy are doing themselves no favours by threatening the Greek people with an ultimatum to vote for the referrendum or leave the Euro, that may well get their backs up enough to vote against the proposal. Such arrogance from thew EU leadership! Trying to write the refferendum question…

I do love all the folk who think the euro will die. Of course it will not being a big strong currency. Greek economy is a sideshow.

The euro is here to stay – get used to it folks. The Pound is history

Only because the political EU is standing behind it with imaginary money. The music has stopped and everyone is racing for a chair… let’s see how much value the euro would have without the constant and massive support…

I thought the nation was on it’s uppers yet billions can be w*nk*d off on ridiculous projects such as HS2. WHAT is the all-fired hurry to get from London to Brum twenty minutes quicker? Or the constant whining from the air travel industry that unless the whole of the south-east is turned into a giant airport for people to fly on a whim that the gears will all grind to a shuddering halt. There are things such as the telephone and the internet that can provide instant communication…

The referrendum may not take place at all if the Greek govt collapses, as it may well soon. Whatever happens we are DOOMED, it’s just that the EU and the world stock markets keep postponing the event in order to wring just those last few drops of blood out of the corpse that is the financial system. It’s not a question of if, but when…

it may just be a difference of approach by the GP, or else they don’t want to worry me without due cause, there’s little anyone can do until it’s known for sure what the ‘lump’ is, though i suspect in both our cases it’s a limpoma.

It doesn’t burst, it just slips from your grip. I discovered mine when I woke up one morning (sounds like the beginning of a blues song!) and felt a tender spot on my chest. I thought I’d slept badly on an old matress and had one of the springs pressing against me, but that wasn’t the case…

    I doubt that I’m DOOMED…

There are many models of constitutional reform the UK can consider, in fact having a written constitution would be a start! Either a more powerful, fully-elected second chamber or an executive president who would be enpowered to prevent the sort of legislative abuse seen under NuLab would be fine by me, but at the moment we have neither option…
