Ah, yes… Mrs Windsor’s inevitable demise. I dread to think what the Beeb will do.

I decided to go to bed. There is more of a daytime audience on STW, and the point remains valid.

I’d expect the Beeb to rpeort the news, but not interrupt other programmes unless it was a dire emergency.

Depending on how damaged your car was, could you not buy it as scrap from the insurers and rebuild it?

Strips of birch bark, wet or dry, work well as firelighters. They may smoke a bit, and you should always gather responsibly – curly pieces of peeling bark – but it works, and is a fact worth knowing.

English, with some scots-canadian ancestry. I hope the scots vote yes, and just to ensure the vote goes that way I want the franchise extended throughout the UK so that we can vote to be rid of them.

There can never, I repeat never, be any excuse for a grown adult of sound mind to wear a onesie, aka Jeremy Kyle suit.

Go to Aldi and see if they have any of their last sunday special 5w torches still on sale. Add some rechargable batteries and the job’s a good ‘un.

But for each positive result there are indigenous children growing up wanting to emulate Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus…

The internet is a double-edged sword. As well as being a tool for enlightenment it also makes possible the sort of orwellian surveillance and enforcement that we used to dread, but now some sheeple have become so innured to it that they are no longer bothered. Yes, let’s bring to one of the last few places on earth that doesn’t have it, and snare everyone in the net. After a while they’ll come to understand it was for their own good… Indigenous culture vs globalised cultural pollution; I wonder which will triumph?

On the subject of pervasive, intrusive technology; when will we stop tagging wild animals with GPS transmitters? They deserve their privacy away from our petty curiosity as to what they get up to when we can’t observe them. Leave the poor creatures alone!

Again, reading somee of the comments here I despair of humanity. What is this nmacho thing that some yuou have with wishing ever lower pay and conditions on you fellow people? It’s an outrage, and it says a lot about the state of our nation that this abusive state of affairs is not only considered tolerable, but desirable.

One downer is that the Apps Ops feature of 4.3 isn’t avaiable with 4.4. There is an app on Google Play – Advanced Permission Manager – that effectively rewrites your apps but without some of the permissions that you specify should be excluded.

You can’t extract more enwergy than there was already in a burning tea light, so I fail to see how surrounding it with a terracotta pot will help. That said, I’ve made sure my elderly father has a pack of tea lights and a big disposable foil tray to put them in to light en-masse if his heating fails this winter.

When Cameron refers to ‘social mobility’ he means the ability of everyone, bar himself and his political class, to be dragged down to the underclass.

I don’t wear a poppy as I believe that the state that sends people to war should be wholly responsible for their post-war welfare, rather then hiving it off to charity.
