Looks like all decals are removed. Nothing on the wheels, tyres or crank arms.

“- CCDB allegedly needs serviced every 100 hours, and needs to be sent off”

Every 100 hours isn’t a downside, that’s a good amount of riding. My rockshox stuff is every 100 hours too.

Gave it a bleed this morning, still alive….

Seems to be fine. The fluid that came out of it was yellow ish not red like the reverb bleed fluid is.

Any issues with the boa system on the 2012’s ?

Really like the white ones too but don’t know if that’s a pain to keep clean.

Yeah ended up bleeding both brakes as i had trimmed the hose on both.

Hardly had any air come out of the lever but loads came out at the caliper.

I put the grips on last night, removed them and cleaned them and the bars with IPA.

Sprayed some hairspray on (Firm hold from vella) and left them overnight.

Checked them this morning and they are solid :D

    I’ve no idea if vella is a good/cheap brand….

    Ok.

I gather the hairspray wouldn’t lift the lacquer on the bar ?

    Hi,

Sorry went out to work after my first posts.

It’s not an Orange no, a Trek.

I did wonder about removing the banjo fitting on the caliper, it looks removable.

    Is that an option ?

    Bugger.

Im not so much worried about the 20p, i trimmed the hose short when i did it last month so to change the olive/barb is going to make it even shorter….

    “Heavy duty” shock mount kits.

£22 for a piece of steel tube.

Most of them aren’t accurate, Snap on are the only ones i use which are accurate but most people are far too tight to buy one.

    Really ?

Just to be clear the X loc mounts on the right hand side of the bar with the rear shifter ?

Every photo i’ve seen shows it mounted on the left.

That will be good then as my monarch xx remote occupies the left side of the bar.

The gloves im looking at are fingerless, i hate having the material at my finer tips so that size guide isn’t much help :(

It’s just the usual legal stickers – easy peel ones.

There is one which has a serial number of the helmet which is more of a foil type material which i left on.

I’ve always removed the labels though and never had a problem.

The labour charge can be a good deal in some cases. A good amount of aftermarket exhaust are complete crap and require some serious work to make them fit. It can be a struggle with the car on the ramp and access to a grinder/oxy heat i wouldn’t want to be doing it at home.

The 2012 brakes address nearly all of the above issue’s, pre 2012 had a design flaw on the lever which made it pretty much impossible to bleed all the air out of them.

I’ve got a set of 2012 XX – have had them for months no problems to report. Just this weekend actually i trimmed the hose on them and didn’t need to bleed either of them.

I’d say shimano etc are more numpty friendly.

Im in the same boat although i don’t need the pocket.

I’ve started to hate my Fox high frequency shorts, so baggy they bash agaisnt the top tube!

The Fox Altitude looks fairly snug whilst being baggy.

    If that makes any sense.

The cost of them is insane. I did one recently for a Ford Focus which cost £1000 from Ford.

Most MOT testers would have to be on it to notice a DPF delete. I know the testers at my work certainly wouldn’t notice.

Cleaning it yourself isn’t really an option, they self clean provided the car is driven correctly.

Nice as it looks Leyzne stuff is poor quality, the alloy sides of mine has corroded and falling apart. Utter pish

Impressive seeing as aluminium doesn’t really corrode.

Be aware that Stainless steel is softer than steel, as such a stainless bearing won’t rust but the races won’t last as long.

If the bearings have been installed correctly with the correct tools my money would go on crap quality bearings.

You want something that has 2RS in it’s code which means it has rubber seals both sides, it’s surprising how many you can buy which aren’t sealed both sides.

    Cool, thanks.

I’m looking at the Genuine Innovations Air Chuck Elite – i found a review online and it got 10/10 so think i’ll give it a go.

    Thanks for the input.

Just to confirm if i buy an inflator i can use any cartridge i want so long as it’s the right fit (threaded or non) ?

I suspected something cheaper would be available.

I mean who is going to pay £70 for a sharpe blade in a fancy box !?

Oe exhausts are excellent quality, i have a BMW which is 14 years old and the exhaust is still fine.

Kiwkfit and the likes will fit aftermarket exhaust from the likes of Euroflow which are completely utter guff. They rust out rapido.

The young guys at my garage have halfords pro stuff, it doesn’t last they’ve gone through 3-4 bars and a couple of ratchets in 9 months. Good thing they come with a warranty.

Everything i have is Snap-on, even my tool box and bike specific bits. It’s the only thing worth buying imo.
