    Yeah no contract, nothing!

Her line of thought is she is paid monthly and must then give a months notice, first time I’ve heard of it.

Another thing, she is paid the 25th of the month or the Friday closest.

I am correct in thinking that pay will be for the 3 weeks of that month and the last week of the previous month ? They wont be paying her on the 25th hoping she works the rest of the month etc etc right ?

Assuming you have done the obvious check of the air filter and pipes for a blockage i would head towards the fuel pump.

Lots of factors can cause all sorts of answers regarding car tyre life.

In general the better the quality of the tyre the longer it lasts, Michelin are the best for life. They will do 25,000 miles no problem.

Tyres from the likes of Goodyear last a good time too, expect in the region of 20,000.

Mid range tyres can go anywhere from 10 to 20 thousand miles.

Cheap uber crap budget tyres sometimes last a while because the rubber is so hard and lacking grip they hardly wear.

Its important to have the tracking checked reguarly too, that being out can cause excessive tyre wear.

    Got it.

    Thanks folks.

I was doing it all apart from unmounting the DMG.

Loving the mac so far, takes a bit of getting used to after 20 years of windows.

    Good as UPS then.

New iphone made it from China, via Hong Kong, Dubai and Germany to the UK in less than 2 days.

It’s so far been 2 days in the depot 6 miles away from my house

They wont let me pick it up either, have to wait.

Those engines are terrible, Ford should be ashamed they still make them.

That engine is bad for the timing chain jumping out, could explain the poor running. Could be the fuel pump is dying.

Well to follow up, had a heated debate at work on Wednesday. 3 of us got together and pointed out the issues. Managers arrogance is somewhat stunning. Flat out denied it’s anything to do with him and nothing is going to change.

    So im leaving :D

New job is only 0.8 miles away from home (can cycle) and pays £8k extra a year.

    Sorted

He’s never around, he might visit once a month.

As it stands the branch pulls in around 25K a month. If it was run better im completely confident we could be pulling in 30-35 easy. The other branch makes 35-40 a month no problem.

TooTall – that’s an interresting thought.

Onzadog – I would love that, if i leave the branch im in it’s doomed though, i suspect they know that.

    I thought as much :D

Providing hard evidence though (Which i have) surely they can’t fire me for the truth ? That would be unfair dismisal would it not ?

Hmmm not sure then, it might be the “2.05 inc bonus” thing then.

Although in saying that im positive at the time of opening it was 2.05% plus an additional 1.95% bonus if you dont touch the money for a year, which i haven’t.

The foam piece is a bottom out bump stop, to prevent damage to the shock/chasis

Easy to replace, expect to pay £20-£30 for a set (one for each side of the car)

Replace the rear shocks might be an idea. How old is the car ? What milage has it done ? Most of the time a shock that’s done 100K + will be soft. It still works it’s just soft.

Piece of cake to replace on the Touran though, a garage shouldn’t charge more than an hours labour to do both sides. It’s independant of the spring so it’s a case of using an airgun to undo two bolts and its off.

I sell tyres all day at work.

In that size the ONLY tyre worth considering IMO is the Goodyear Efficient Grip performance or the Dunlop Blue response.

Both have been winning all the awards all year. Both will cover the additional cost through the fuel saving on them.

If you happen to have a HIQ near head there, £75 a tyre with £10 off for two or £20 off for four.

    I looked at the panasonic.

I noticed it doesn’t have any picture enhancement. Is that good/bad ?

    Im buying a 5s outright.

Costs £549 from apple. Spread that over 2 years like a contract and it’s £22 a month. Add a sim only contract at £10 and you have a 5s for £32 a month. Better than the £40+ mobile comps are wanting for it.

    Transits are utter junk

Engines are crap, injectors and fuel pumps fail, timing chain tensioners fail
Chains snap. Utter crap. The front wheel bearing design is awful. The rear is just as bad.

We service a fleet of them at work constant issues. Company that owns them is sick of them.

I would buy an older merc sprinter in a heart beat. The works one has 500,000 + miles on the clock (stopped at 500,00)
Still going fine. Or a vw lt

Thicker disc will require a new caliper carrier and caliper at least.

You may even need to change the hub because the offset might be different between the two.

Typically solid discs are found on either A: Small light weight things or B: cars/small van without ABS.

If you don’t have ABS id say you will have solid discs.

Pagid make good discs, cheaper ones warp.

Dig in your garden to find one of the roots for the tree. A big one.

Drill into it and put a funel/straw etc into the root.

Source and old car battery or just buy acid. Apply acid down the tube every few days.

Has done a very nice job of killing my neighbours ash tree

    Simple.

I don’t have that issue. I’ve set aside money from this month for all of this months stuff.

The pay next month will cover all my bills next month and the credit card easily.

That’s cool, i can pay it off next month.

I’ve just had to pay for car insurance, mot, tax, birthdays.

Next months pay cheque will more than cover it so i can pay it off then.

    This is what it says

“to keep promotional rates you must pay at least the minimum payment by the due date and stay within your credit limit”

    Monthly rate is 1.385%

    Great.

So on say £600 any idea what the minimum monthly payment would be ?

What do you intend to do ? Drive it away with bald illegal tyres ?

If that is all it has failed on options are:

Get them to change tyres and retest car. Pay and drive home with MOT done.

Drive car away – means paying for the MOT AND if you get the tyres done somewhere else paying a partial retest fee, roughly £20 for the garage to retest it. Has to be done within 10 working days though.

    Did this 2007.

Bought an interrail Euro train ticket valid for a month.

Started off in Berlin and just let it all happen. Went with people to places, went on my own on recommendations (stayed in hostels) etc

    Best time of my life.

Tragic people NEED a big car.

On a more serious note, mechanically they are **** as are all Kia’s, rust buckets.

If you get a diesel bear in mind you WILL need to do miles and miles in it otherwise the DPF will clock up which is a pain and if it gets real bad ££££

Just don’t see the appeal IMO.

Agree with the above, totally pointless car if you don’t go with the 4 wheel drive option. Qusqai is the same.

It may not be a ford issue.

The ST uses an old Volvo engine and running gear (Ford to cheap to design one themself) so could be a supply issue from volvo…

Phone a ford parts dealer, like quickford and ask for a price and availability.
