Mavic Aksium’s are worth considering. £197 from CRC, and imo they look pretty good too as a bonus :-)

Life really, really is too short – you’re coming across as a real tool.

Lighten up, I doubt the OP is *actually* planning on doing (m)any of these things. Its just a bit of a laugh. In case you’ve forgotten what that is:

FB has been persistently nagging me for my mobile phone number for years, giving silly reasons like “your account is not secure without it”, but I refuse to give my number for no good reason.

Two-factor authentication when logging in from new devices is a good enough reason for me. Though it would make sense to get a PAYG sim card and use that number.. however I’m not that organised sadly..

Ah dude, I feel for you massively.

Touch wood, never been in that situation myself, so can’t really provide any real advice, however another slightly ‘firmer’ message would definitely be on the cards.

Fingers crossed it all works out ok :)

Uch, the ‘labels’ are so tiring. I cannot wait for the day then we don’t have to have a big ****-off label slapped on our foreheads. I’m almost feel that all the ‘gay rights/pride’ stuff encourages the labeling even further.

    /end of pointless rant.

Although I do wish the older one would wear a belt, or at least keep his crack covered!

Maybe buy him one of these tshirts. Glad I could help.

I understand why people may want to go to 1 x 9/10/11… however what I really don’t understand is why people would want to go from 3 x 9/10/11 to 2 x 9/10/11.

What is the reason for that? (slight hijack I know..)

I refuse to read any of those twitter feeds, farcebook pages, etc. just as I also refuse to pay attention to any of those cyclist video youtube pages where the guy shouts out the car reg. numbers of every other car.

Same, have unfollowed all the crazy-numberplate-shouty-people!

I find very little current British ‘humour’ to be in any way amusing. Especially bloody McIntyre; do they issue the audience with tanks of NO to make them laugh at his pathetic attempts at ‘jokes’?

Nice way to casually belittle everyone that actually does find him funny.

In all honesty, we treat our ‘team building’ days as a bit of a jolly for the staff. It’s a simple way for the Company to say “Thanks for the hard work this year so far, have a day/night on us”.

If any actual ‘team building’ comes out of it, then its a bonus in my eyes :-)

They’ve been going a few years now as plenty people think it’s cool to have a box delivered to work that they can sit on their desk to say “Hey look at me I’m dead funky and stuff, I get little snacks delivered to me in a box”.

Far cheaper to go to scoop shop.
How’s this for a crazy idea… maybe, just *maybe*, people find it more convenient to get it delivered to their work? And *maybe* it’s not about being cool?

There obviously is a fair amount of demand or they most likely would have gone under by now.

For that reason, I will offer the £100,000, however I do want 99% of the business.

EDIT: If you go via TopCashBack, you can actually be paid £1 to get a box delivered… at least you could last year anyway! 8)

Meh, I see ties as a little bit ‘old-skool’ now in the workplace. Much prefer the look of a simple suit, shirt, and no tie. Modern, clean, and effective.

Ties are only uncomfortable if you’ve bought the wrong collar size, so it’s too tight.

Regardless of the collar size, I get a bit claustrophobic with top buttons – but I guess that’s mainly because I rarely wear a tie..

set up 2 factor authentication on anything that offers it

Tend to use it on everything that happens to offer it, almost silly not to.

This sums it up nicely, imo:

Don’t get hung up on the password thing. The biggest threats are either outside your control (cf Adobe etc) or addressable by other means (so malware protection etc). For genuinely important stuff, multi-factor is the way to go (hence banks go this route now).

Move to Cardiff. An hour or so every morning is open surgery – turn up in that time and you are guaranteed to be seen. Never takes more than about 90 mins in our place.

Not sure if this is a Welsh thing or not

My surgery in Cardiff is exactly the same, though the most I’ve ever had to wait was an hour – which doesn’t bother me in the slightest. We probably go to the same surgery (Whitchurch?) :-)

Have to say the turn by turn sat nav feature is excellent – no idea when that came in though, maybe with 7?

I find it even more impressive when walking through cities. Headphones on, music going, and a polite voice interrupting every so often telling you which way to walk.. all without having to get your phone out of your pocket.

Perfectly timed thread; my A3 is having similar issues.

Took it to the garage who checked the bearings and said they were fine, and that it is most likely the tyre is ‘feathered’ as orangewinger mentioned above. It’s not noisy enough for me to actually do anything about it though, will just crank up the music and wait until it needs to be replaced. :D

Hmm wouldn’t like to say for sure. Best way to test it is just to turn off the data on your phone now, and just record yourself walking around the car park a few times… then see if it works :-)

Surely as one of the richest countries in the world we can afford to provide aid (where necessary) to the flood victims AND continue the overseas aid? Why one or the other?

Could be a bit of a shock for the Bonny Scots, to realise that the majority of the English and Welsh don’t give a rats and vote ‘yes, please go and whinge at someone else about your valueless currency!’

    ^ *facepalm*

The ones that read the Daily Mail might, but those that think about things a bit more would be quite unhappy.

As I seem to be missing the childish/Daily Fail-esque ‘anti-anything-that-isn’t-Welsh/English’ gene that so many seem to have been born with, I’ll be quite gutted if the United Kingdom were to no longer include Scotland.

I heard eBay were pulling the ads due to the fact that phones have to have a ‘factory’ reset before being sold on there. I may be wrong.
