I think the required does is quite high (4000mg per day IIR) I tried it instead of cod liver oil for a while and found it wasn't doing the trick.
I would recommend cod liver oil personally.

I think we have similar opinions at the end of the day (I have a similar view of cars and golf)
I just wouldn't want to go through life scaring old ladies! It's your choice, but I wouldn't want to deal with other peoples prejudices.

Maybe I'm just a product of my conservative upbringing and education 😆

    I still can't help wondering why though…

As for the kids changing your life permanently – I agree 100%, but not the first impressions that people have of you personally and they way they will therefore treat you until they get to know you. (Assuming they take the time to)

BTW can anyone argue that the picture up there ^ with the green thing dangling from his/her ear isn't really minging?

If they are not that uncommon then I guess I am out of touch with society. I guess I have only seen a handful of people with them in my (sheltered apparently) life 😕

Clubber, I don't think people should necessarily decide to get these things done or not based on having an easy life and I am sure there are successful people with all manner of wierd piercings. My point is that I don't understand why anyone would want to make their own lives difficult on a permanent basis.
Of the subject of "the establishment" I am reasonably confident that there is an element of rebellion in 99.9999% of people who do this whether they want to admit it or not.
Why not just wear an offensive Tshirt until you grow out of it 😈

piercings or tattoos are fine, I have no problem with them at all (I have a tattoo) but I think it is short sighted to have something done that cannot be concealed when necessary.

Career was just an example. I am sure that people will treat you differently in every aspect of your day to day life with the exception of those who know you personally.
I remember that shop security guards followed me around when I had a grade 1 haircut and I also notice how differently I am treated when wearing smart work clothes compared with scruffy clothes.
Choosing to do something like that is a clear statement to "the establishment" that you don't care about careers or whatever, I was thinking about going to the supermarket, asking for directions or having dinner in a restaurant.
I know I sound middle class about this (I am not a Daily Mail reader) but that doesn't mean I'm wrong…

I think it is absolutely horrid. How is that going to look in a few years and, in reality, how is it going to affect your chances of succeeding with careers and stuff?
I know it is an old fashioned view, but people are judged on appearances, like it or not, and I can only assume that perceptions of you will be tainted by that sort of thing just like facial tattoos. Why make your life more difficult?
I expect the answer will be "I don't care what other people think" and that is fair enough, but what other people think of you affects your life, like it or not, and I can't imagine that it's a possitive impact with something that most people don't really want to look at.

Go on, flame me for that!

I used to do it in my previous job and have once or twice gotten out of the door before working from home for the day since then, but the motivation is missing when I am not heading to the office. My new office is about 50 miles away so it's not really commutable any more although I will do it once just to prove to myself that I can. (I sometimtes take my bike on the train and ride home tohgh)

If I can get myself out of bed I never regret it as you have all mentioned the great aspects of early morning rides, but I'm not naturally an early morning person so usually eh pillow wins out over the cold morning air 🙄

Do a quick mental check on how much space you need becuase you may be able to save some money by getting the nano if you don't have 100s of cds…

Stewing steak or something that needs a lot of cooking (ox tails maybe) coated in flour, browned wiht some onions. chuck ins ome thyme and a bottle of wine and cook forever with a lid on. About an hour before you want to eat it throw in whatever root veges you have.
Anything cooked for >4 hours in red wine seems to taste good 🙂
Pork cheeks in cider are nice too

Depends what you want it for.
If it's lots and lots of music then the classic. If it is for vids, music and general playing on internet and stuff then the touch.
I have a classic that is great at what it does, I also have an iphone that work gave me and it is really a totally different thing. The classic has every cd I have ever bought on it, some movies and space for more. The iphone has a selection of stuff but doesn't have space for the whole lot so it really depends on what you plan to do with it.

    I suspect that didn't help much 😕

I spent years and years learning this stuff and I can honestly say that none of it has ever been of any use to me whatsoever. I always hated maths anyway.
Then again if you get an engineering degree and then don't become an engineer I suppose that shouldn't be so much of a surprise.

I've had 2 HTs and 2 FSs up to now and have now gone with a HT 29er nad I have no plans of changing. I see the benefits of both and I like FSs but the fun of an HT can't be beaten and then there is the easy cleaning and maintenance as well.
I don't think I'll ever buy another FS but as you said, bear in mind who you're asking.

Afterwards you could pop over to catholictrack.com and as about premarital sex to see if you can get a similarly ballanced view 😉

I had a curry in Copenhagen last night and it was crap as usual. I also had a couple of pints before hand that cost about £6 each.

Generally best to eat the local stuff and I have been told by quite a few Indians I have worked with that the UK is the only place in Europe where you can get a decent curry.

FWIW I have had great food in the north of spain and some crap in the south in the holiday resort areas.

I think it depends to some extent where you are in the country. My first experience in Italy was in Turin for several months with work and found it expensive and dissapointing pretty much without excoption. I have had better trips to Milan since then, but in general not great.
I lived and worked in France and have always liked the food their.
I think there is great food to be had in America if you get past the usual McDonalds sh1t and authentic mexican food is ace (not TGI Friday style fried texMex though)

You shouldn't be the one to loose your job so either talk to the manager in question, go to their manager if you can or go to HR and ask them. If all else fails then go to the Dr and get yourslef signed off for a while with stress and start looking for another job.

Don't do anything rash like leaving, it could be that the manager is stressed out becuase there is something looming over them from your sick colleague. You never know, they may be leaving sooner than you think…

    Good luck

I think it's important to take a break at the end of the season. Take it easy, try not to do anything bikey for 2,3 or 4 weeks and then get back into training. It will be good for your knee and good for your head. I had a similar problem a few years ago and had to more or less stay off the bike for 6 months.
I did find that a low dose of Ibuprofen helped with the knee, 2 in the morning and 2 at night for a week (whilst not biking) and the inflamation went away. This was from an overuse injury that sounds similar to yours.
Just consider this summer over, take a break and then get on with preparing for next year/season.

I just got out my winter coat this morning and was a bit dissapointed to find that it is now much too big for me. It is a rally nice Gloverall Duffel coat that MRs OJ bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago and now I am in a bot of a quandry.
I have lost a couple of stone since last winter ( :-)) and had to buy a few new clothes along the way but now I can see an expensive purchase on the way for a new coat.
The problem is that I just bought a new set of wheel for my mtb and I think she'll go mental if I ask to spend another £150 on a coat.
I guess I'll have to flog some of the others out of the wardrobe on Ebay and paypal a new one without her noticing…

Dark blue, dark red or dark green.

Tourers are not for fancy bright colours they should look classy, not flashy.

My personal preference would be the dark blue, but then I'm not going to buy it

I agree with OMITN. Talk to them about it first, Law Society or whatever as a last resort. If you explain the whole situation and can show them which costs you think were unreasonable then you should be able to come to some sort of agreement.

If you really think they're having your leg up then try the official complaint route.

Hope it works out. I am having fun with a bad estimate on a project that is over spent at the moment (I didn't set the budget) and it is just a matter of finding a compromise that everyone is least unhappy with.

    Good luck

    Hmm Redheads…

Mrs OJ has (not very natural) red hair and there have been other more natural ones in the past. I must say I am rather partial to them.
