I'm nearly 100kg and riding a Fizik gobi on a hard tail and it's being going strong for 2 years+

I'd buy another tomorrow if it broke.

I may end up getting a set of clear lenses for the jawbones in the winter, but I'll see how I get on with them first and give my wife a chance to forget how much I have already spent on them 😈

I got the blasck iridium transitions and they apparently go from 42% to 10% tansmision or something like that. They seem fairly clear and I think they'll be ok in fairly low light levels, but not for night riding or anything like that.
I have had black persimmon transition radar and that was good when it was overcast as well, but they were not prescrition lenses (about to sell them on Ebay, but let me know if you're interested – black frame with red bits like this: link

There is a new oakley lense that is supposed to be really clear when not activated, but I cannot see that available as a prescription lense anywhere including the US

Time will tell how much I can use these as year round riding glasses…

Having seen it I'd likie to revise my estimate to something between £50 and £75. You might have trouble getting rod of it at all 🙁

I was expecting full racks and mudguards on a Dawes tourer.

Trumpers cream is fantastc stuff. I am using the rose one at the moment. Mrs Oddjob likes the smell and I like that it is bright pink 🙂

I got the transitions lenses so that I onoy need one set and the total cost was about £260 all in.

Quite a lot I know, but not insane

I don't have contacts and I can't really imagine using them. I have just started needing to wear my glasses all the time instead of just for driving and it seems really wierd to take them off for cycling when arguably I need them the most.

I would think you'de done well to get more than £100. What did it cost new?

Something similar happened to me, someone left a note on my car the registration of the offender so I went to the police. They followed up with the guy and he had to pay for the repairs. Actually he just gave me the money as it was an old car and I said I could sort it out, I just kicked the dent out and lived with it £250 better off 🙂

Works sort of OK for that sort of situation, but I wouldn't use it all the time.

I think the adverts on the right are based on your search hisory and some other clever stuff. Parhaps I don't make enough gramatical errors to cross the threshold for being offered language tuition 😉

I mostly get offered bikes from the US

Depends a bit on what you want it for…

Chrome and bagaboo are good for waterproof indestructability and Timbuk2 and Crumpler are nicer to look at and somehow softer and nicer to use.

Yes I have far too many bags, god ónly knows how much of a handbag problem I would have had if I had been born a woman.

3 peaks cyclocross – that has to be the winner.

Extra bonus points for requiring a new bike 🙂

Kielder 100 and Great Divide are more what I was looking for. BBB looks like a great weekend for the family, but I was looking for physical challenges.

    Marmotte – done
    24 solo – done
    Ironman – done

Not doing any more 24 solos, I'm not mentally tough enough and they hurt too much.

Weather is shocking in the Aples at the moment from what I can see. We are heading to Livigno in a couple of weeks and it's been snowing there this week 🙁

I'm sure the Marmotte will be fun regardless. be safe on those descents

BTW, I'd get a Passat to fit the baby stuff in easier…

I stared using a saftey razor for 2 reasons, the first was curiosty and the secod was that I get bad ingrowing hairs in my neck. Since changing, the ingrowing hairs have gone away and I now enjoy the process of shaving much more than before. Yes it takes me 5 minutes longer than it did, but it's 5 minutes to myself without hassle from the kids or wife and I enjoy it.
There is also the gadget aspect of it that I expect most cyclists will understand.

I have no intention of going ack to the Mach 3 fusion things but I generalyl don't make a fuss about how I shave in the same way that I don't make a big deal about what shampoo I use.

Parents used to buy cheddar in blocks the size of a breeze block. I got really really sick of eating it for lunch every single day in my sandwiches.

I have seen a Prosche Boxter convertable with a bike on the roof at a triathlon. There was a pair of alloy rail that went from the screen to the rear of the car and then a couple of cross members which the rack was attsached to.

My thought was really that if you want to take a bike, then you bought the wrong car…

Having said that my dad can put his road bike behind the seats of their BMW Z3 with the roof down – no probs

I don't carry anything. I know there is a risk of a long walk or a telephone call home, but I am confident that I can't do much about a proper flat without CO2 cartridges and I have run out of those! I can't be bothered to carry a tube and I haven't had a flat since I went tubeless.
