one of those thin helmet liner hat jobbies.cheap, easily fits in a pocket or bag, and can warm me up no end when the temp drops or you can cool down a lot if it warms up without carring loads because of it.

as an off shoot of this why is it that so many frames still have a hole in the frame stay brace? it usually holds a reflector on cheapo bikes but most top end ones never come with the daft things yet lots still hae the m6 hole there?

depreciation-doesnt count, next owner will be the scrap yard.
reapirs wise..im a mechanic of sorts so i could suss out a good car to start with (i like to think)
fuel. diesel would be good but a super small engine petrol could work.
so cheap insurance and tax are the only things i cant change so to speak.

how do you actually bleed them? ive bled the brakes on cars before.is it the same way? ie fluid goes in at the handle bar end and air and fluid comes out the wheel end?
do you pressurise it at the top and vacaum it out the bottom?

write a list next time.its what i do.prices and shop details also. id like to be "suprised" by the correct size seat clamp that i need in the correct colour of anodizing, but frankly that is never going to happen.
she has asked me to get her a "really romantic gesture" for her birthday!im cacking it already, i struggle with her rough list, but thats just far to open a sugestion… 😯

"As a result we have little cash to spend on oursleves and my beloved Orange Five is drifting into diss-repair due to lack of mechanical skill on my part and the ability to even stretch to basic supplies like inner tubes some months.

I don't think she really appreciates that I genuinly do find one of my few life affirming sollaces to be riding my bike and cutting through single track in 'the zone' etc. Not to mention the sorting-out-your-head joy of many hours on your own just turning the pedals and getting the world to make sense whilst you do it.!"

im so glad you wrote this matt.im in excactly the same life situation.but riding hepls make it all bearable.i asked for some cash towards bike bits at xmas (as the things i need are so random)did i get any?not a penny.go loads of other crap i dont need tho..
i actually dont look forward to birthdays because of this dilemma coming up, but when i get a nice fat parcel fro CRC that I have ordered, im like a five year old on xmas day all over again…
It was such an issue on year i just said "give some money to charity" as i have all the things i need (which means-i buy what i need!) they couldnt even do that!

    my 2 pence.
my dad was around until i was 15ish and my parents broke up.my dad made it really longwinded and messy.he got really hateful and nasty and i saw a side to him i never had seen as a kid.i avided him because of this and as he tried to keep seeing me i thought ok ill give this a go.he just constantly blamed my mum for everything and lied and contradicted himself.what little respect i had for him soon dissapeared. i told him on a leter occasion i wanted nothing more to do with him.over time he has drifted away 9didnt attempt to send a card to me this year) its sad but i actually dont think he is a very nice person.it cuts me up to write this, thinking how he used to be so much fun when i was little but i really dont think i can every forgive or forget what he did and how he acted.
i really dont miss him now to be honest.i miss a father figure but he was never a strong one of those when i was little anyway.
nowadays my life just functions without him. dont know what i would do if he died tommorrow.dont really think id be that bothered??

on a seperate note i would say meet somewhere public and open, plus i would say dont drink any booze.it just clouds your judgement.when ive had a few im everyones mate and this is not what this is about.

seriously large project to take onn tho! i mean its just massive and as stated, if its main structure is starting to decay…

on the program i saw im sure there was an issue as because its listed it has to be repaired using the same materials and processes that were used in the first place back in the 50's/60's.lots of the internal walls were to be knocked out and rebuilt/reinsulated and this had to be done buy guys with 14lb sledge hammers as they didnt have electric kango concrete breakers and the like in the 50's/60's hence it costs loads more and takes lots longer
    if my memory is correct…
