having worked on the front desk of a couple of garages ive met lots of rac / aa type guys and frankly, appart from a few diamonds in the rough, they employ so many muppets. just dont bother with the cover.stick the month direct debit in an account and if you ever break down do 18185 and ask for the nearest tow truck company and get them to take you and the car to you local garage/home or whatever is nearest to destination.most independent companys are much better.
so many recovery bods would come in going "ah yes i think you will find the so and so is the cause"…never was! it was always something else.aa diagnosis was a running joke where i worked…

also a little bit of tightening can sometimes help a bit then untighten(again make sure you know which way!!)

so has no one heard of drilling being done?The lock on one of my double glazed window handles had the key lost when it was locked.i tried drilling the tumbler out and it gave way in seconds!then put a screwdriver in the remains and twisted to make it work.

lots of locks say about being drill proof, does anyone even try this as ive never seen any that people have attempted it on?
