    Brownbacks yesterday.

Fairly sure I did really really badly. Punture on the practice lap, Had to change the tube on the start line due to lack of time, no idea how many laps i did as i forgot to count or use the handy function on my speedo, and really suprised myself at how slow i was riding.

But was still riding at the end so i am happy. Had a really good time and will plan things a bit better for next year.

I live in yorkshire and it gets used for local trails and on the mores. It has been round the red route at dalby in under 2:10 in a time trial thing so can hanle quite rough train at speed.

I don’t really care that it is ugly, I ride it thus don’t spend much time looking at it. The reason i ask is that nobody could say why it looked ugly but just said it didn’t look right so i was interested to know why.

I think the siny fork and bright frame decails that throw everything off.

befor i moved jobs i had a 9 mile comute ever day and there would always be an owl (i presume the same one) on one part of the route. It would fly at head level along side me some days too. Quite amazing to see a wild animal at a distance of 2m

TBH i kinda like the look of viewranger. At £20 for all the maps for north yorkshire mores, dales and the peaks i think that is quite cheap.

had heard about that, if i can get mapping working i might got it a go.

Do you have a HD2 running android? is it easy to do?

I am a suthener who has moved tup north and i finaly understand this.

Dinner is traditonaly the hot/main meal of the day.

Up north the main meal was eaten at mid day as they spent a hard day doing hard work. Then they would come home to a smaller meal a exactly 5:00 and supper later.

Down south as we did less phisical work we had a light lunch at mid day then dinner in the evening with the family traditionaly later than 5:00

Will this stuff still be in Aldi today?

I have never really used Aldi and not sure if these things are just on sale for the one day?

    thanks for that artical Andy.

Sounds like the law has changed since his situation to protect the non-parent status of the donor. Obviously i would properly check that out if i did anything.

It is as some of you have described, on the one have it is an awsome chance to help a friend that i would think would be an ace mum (also slight ego boost). On the other seeing a kid grow up that is on a genetic level like me and not be a parent.

I would be annoyed if they didn't last one winter but from what you are saying if i treat them right and don't walk too much they should last one winter even if they look a bit shabby at the end of it.

friend got maried last weekend. He is in the RAF and had a friend do a display over the back of the vanu in a spitfire.

First time i have had one fly close over me and i have to say the sound is amazing. Again i have no idea what makes it amazing but it was.

i would be carefull. Kit like that comes in very small sizes and is possibly only a licra skin designed to go over you normal kit when racing.

I have done more reserch and figgured out where i have been going wrong. For my weight I should be eating 80g of carbs 1hour befor exersise and after. Stick to glucose (jelly beans) during exersice. That is loads more carbs that i thought i needed, it is 3 large bananas worth.

I definaty need to up my carbs at linch time too. Any cheep ideas for low fat hight carb treats for the lunch box?

not eating low gi, just trying to eat semi low fat, five a day etc. Just a normal diet. I am kinda limited on carbs in my main meals due to a dieting partner. Aparently it isn't fun to have a little portion of something then watch someone eat three time what you just ate.

    Maybe i need bigger lunches.

So he bought this wheel, it arived and he didn't take it out of the box and spin it? When ever i take a wheel out of a bike i will always spin it to make sure it is running true and bearings are ok and this guy is saying in the two months that he had the wheel he didn't once think of checking it?

That sounds very strange to me.

you need to convert the energy in to a force diagram to work out effects of disk size. What equation are you using to go direct from momentum loss to pressure on a brake lever?

    oblique
    Free Member

i see your point, the larger wheel size would increase the effective lever that you are using to covert your change forward momentum into a moment. Also larger disk=larger braking moment for the same leaver force so you should use a disk 1.11 times bigger to get the same braking for the same leaver pressure.

    1.11=29/26=156/140=178/160=200/180

    Make sense?

Lab results came back and were negative. :)

3 days late and had to delay my start date but all is well that ends well. So form my experiance the PITP tess is unreliable but lab testing is acurate.

it is for a large oil company. Working in design. American owned. It is quite standard in my industry to do pre employment and random drugs tests for all staff.
I don't really mind and I can see why they do it just the science needs to catch up.

It is fair to say no-one has time to really clean a bike daily after the commute so would you rather do 100miles a week on a £500 drive train of a £50 if they both get you there?

    oblique

if you can tell me where to get that for 45 i will get it, from a quick look they are about 70.

£45 would be my upper limit

OK, i like enduro-aid's plan but I would need a pool and some sudden climate change.

I might just go with a geocache plan.

That is all good advice, thank you.

I think getting some people to ride with would give me a good reason to get out but i have recently moved up here and don't really know anyone in local that i could ride with.

With out sounding like a crazy stalker from friends reunited how is a good way to find people in the area. I have looked for MTB clubs and there arn't any.

Thank you for all your advice. I just got back.

I took my XC bike did the hard south and south west rides from here and some local riding around the campsite. I was amazed at the riding, so glad i asked your advice and i am already planning to return with more riders and a full suspension bike.

    Thank you

That is exactly why i asked the question grumm. I don’t know what trails are overgrown crap and what are nice trails however good i am at reading maps.

Ok. I want to take my bike now but need to get some routes, the ones at the top seem good but i don’t know where i am going exactly yet. Will local bike shops be the best place to get maps?

Thank you for all the sarcasm.
