    Funky dunk,

You don’t know, how could you? What it does demonstrate is that you are taking reasonable steps to ascertain an interest in the item to prove it is not abandoned.

OP, if you approach the Land owner or the person managing the hoop it isn’t far off the same thing.

As an Estate Manager i do not technically own the location the bicycle is being stored in or on but i do have the brief to act in the clients best interests. It is therefore my responsibility to ensure that others are able to have access to a designated storage area by removing abandoned bikes or remnants of.

Put a note on it or consult the caretaker of the hoop ( could be a building manager or the local council) as long as you are polite they should have no issue.

As an Estate Manager, our procedure usually goes as follows
Note on bike for 1 week
Insulating tape on the chain and wait one month
Insulating tape on the chain and wait one more month
Insulating tape on the chain and wait a 3rd month
Assuming the insulating tape does not get punctured in this time…
Cut lock and move bicycle to suitable secure area
    Wait 3 months
Dispose of appropriately (sell, use or skip it)

Had zero come back on this and the local police thought that it was overly generous in terms of the waiting period.

Chat to Skifix, they will adapt to whatever you want and keep the costs realistic. Thom and Kate are the proprietors.

I am half way through an ILM Level 5 and i am finding it a useful tool.
It may not be earth shattering information but it is definitely a good prod to reflect and change certain practices and also to recognise why something things seem to go well and others do not.
After that get yourself on a Presentation skills course, focussed on the physical talking and being in front of people. I was a lot more nervous than i thought i would be despite presenting to people on a daily basis to some extent or another.

I bought two cat scarers from Amazon and they work perfectly.

They also keep the cats off my car roof too as one aims over the fence line.

i used a saris on that type of fiesta you just turn the feet to face the boot and it works fine.

Had two weighty bikes on there from Essex to Wales with no issue.

if you take the wheels off and take your time the crud race guards are excellent.

If you rush in the dark they will rub and be crap

I use a standard Kindle, it suits me as i read a lot on the train and commute to and from on a foldy bike.

If i break it a lot less expense to worry about.

Quality of the text and the options are great.

Kindle cases are very good too.

I went to see this on Friday having previously read the book.

I was happy to see that the film was very in keeping with the book.

The book is much more in depth but a lot of it would not have translated to something worth watching its a 2.5 hr film as it is.

    Def worth a look.

i did this in my garage and just used some exterior masonry paint and it looks wicked.

I used some normal paint first and the brick work soaked it up like a sponge into the mortar and it looked terrible.

Screwfix masonry roller pack was a god send.

I have got a shoe dryer at home and i keep a good stash of Metro newspapers in my locker to stuff my 5tens with to dry them out during the day.

If they are proper wet i change the newspaper at lunch or put them in the boiler cupboard.

Seal skins are nice at keeping your feet comfortable even when its soaking.

    You need a breathable membrane.

Try not to board the loft where possible.

Ideally you want 13″ of Insulation without a board on top of it.

Consider having shelves between trusses instead and throwing all the junk away.

get some heli tape before you mount it in the rack.

Even when the bike is “clean” you will get rub marks and then cry about it.

    I got a Kansi 3twenty its a 3 speed aluminium folder.

    It was about £300.

Very similar design to the tern etc but without all the messing about with the N fold.

    Go see Tony at UKBIKESKILLS.

I’ve been twice, taught me how to ride properly, now losing all my bad habits, as a result no more dead sailor jumps and comfortably hitting 25-30ft jumps.

Even speeds up my commute now I can corner properly, whipping through a series of tight alley ways and tunnels leading in to Chelmsford station puts a smile on my face everyday!

I drove a 1 Series and an A3 Sportback back to back on the same route same day.

The A3 was easily the better car, it is nicer inside it all looks slicker than the BMW in which the satnav screen looks a bit thrown together.

Space wise the A3 has loads more space for passengers.

The boot is easily big enough to fit my 160mm Ariel in with the front wheel off.

I did prefer the overall look of the 1 series but not enough to sway me.

It is always cheaper to buy complete for a reasonable price then chop out bits to get what you want.

Depending on how well you think your chances are perhaps look for a parallel of another employee in the company who shares a similar level of skill and request parity with them assuming you are privvy to their salary level.

Or put forward other advertised roles you are matched to which offer a better salary.

Whining will get you nothing ultimately.

do you have role reviews ? if you have been in an evolving business for more than a year it would be reasonable that the job description is reviewed and that could lead to a pay rise should they decide to utilise your skills.

    Racing is not for everyone.

I have raced twice and i find it quite unnerving.

To place you have to go flat out and risk injury, i’m not stupid or skilled enough to do that.

I do enjoy the odd race but literally one or two a year is enough.

Enduro races in the UK are generally on seldom used tracks so they don’t weather 100-200 riders well.

Try the odd Mini DH race from time to time and get in to it with less pressure maybe?

Be worth noting in the behind the scenes vid they state that the start sequence was inspired by the start of the Italian Job, so the engine noises fit well.

    Waterproof shorts
    PAkajak – Bright colour
    breathable jersey
    seal skin socks
waterproof and insulated gloves for the winter
spare tubes – don’t bother fixing punctures by the side of the road
    CO2 pump
armadillo/gatorskin tyres, they really are worth the expense.
decent set of lights and pop some spare batteries in the bag
    Decent lock

Get the bike serviced regularly, your commuting bike may be the least favourite of your N+1 stock but it is probably the most frequently used.

I do a similar amount of commuting myself and love it, even when its frosty or pouring down its still more fun that being a bus ****.
