lend them your ID, they will just check the name surely, especially if you tip up wearing sunglasses and a helmet.

Also be funny and engaging they will be distracted by charm and forget the rest.

Worth noting there are loads of stops, for food, for repairs, for the toilet. Pack light, ensure you have tubes and an inflator and sunglasses.

You will be warm within ten minutes of leaving the start line surely you can put up with being chilly rather than throwing items away?

I asked about the cornering to see if you had been coached at all.

    It doesn’t sound like it.

If you are local to Tony at Ukbikeskills in Herts then go see him he will change your life if not then i’m sure others could recommend someone decent locally to you.

I had been mtb’ing on and off for 15-20 years before I saw him and could never pin point my mistakes.

Essentially you need to lean the bike not you.

Regarding the spacer swap change all of them over, 4mm at a time is too incremental.

    Tyre pressure seems decent.

    Are you washing out seated?

    What is your cornering style?

PMSL @ DD, what a lad.

He’s not wrong though, you shouldn’t be allowed to let something like this happen and walk away, maybe not sit in as PM but at least be involved.

I’d swap the spacers to above the stem, that will tip you forward.

what tyre pressure are you running, in what conditions?

    nwmlarge

Bike, suspension setup, length of stem ?

Photo of the bike and preferably one side on  with you on it would be ideal.

On FB it says I work for Toys’r’us and have done since I got on there.

I have never worked there. Work is not part of my social media.

I went to FOD for a demo day and me and a mate rode about for 90mins up and down all sorts of hills we never would even consider let alone bother with.

We also used them to session Launch pad.

I have also used them at Hadleigh, which actually made the place quite fun, otherwise its a bit hard work for a gravity nut like me.

A Gyro on a jump bike is about the only reason I can see for using them over hydraulics on a non road/cx bike.

I have a Dartmoor shine that was rawed about a year ago, it hasn’t started oxidising yet.

When it does I will get it painted a colour as a mate does it for next to nothing.

this may be a bit out of touch but what about a local YTS mechanic place?

Surely a 20v turbo is going to be of interest to some one regardless of its age and mileage

Rucksacks on a World cup course no surprise there.

    Gutted for your mate.

I’ve had to bail due to idiots walking on trails before and then I got run over!

Zigzag is too harsh, maybe a meandering trail, or even a wiggly line relevant to the photo in question?

The designs are cool, personally I would like a “park” range with big senders in view, would get me to buy some.

    Decent prices though

I built a manual machine and I can manual on it for days, it doesn’t translate to anything on the bike.

I knew it wouldn’t mimik the balance that I needed, it was slightly useful in stopping me from panicking about coming off the back.

I had a couple of bad experiences when I was younger where I winded myself.

Practice sessions do pay off, an hour on the manuals and I can get to 4m or so.

Maybe get them to spring for a gimbal too to demonstrate the trail without any shakiness, you can get a gimbal for £120 delivered these days

I bleed my HOPE brakes using a shimano bleed block that I sanded down by 0.9mm to give the perfect lever travel.

I used a vernier to ensure that the bleed block was even throughout, took ages as the bleed block is made of tough plastic.

I follow the standard bleed procedure with this method.

Always worth cleaning the pistons from time to time and re-lubing them also to ensure they work well.

Until I made the thinner bleed block I couldn’t get my old XT’s to the position I wanted either.

I don’t mess with the lever adjustments.

Indeed there are the odd screen you can’t read but the advantages far out weigh the disadvantage of having to move them from your face from time to time.

Petrol station, surely this is a given as you are in the shade?

I’m with most on here, joint account for house stuff and saving, the rest is for me or her to spend as we please from our separate accounts.

I earn far more than my wife so if we go out I cover the cost of most stuff.

Suits me and her without issue.

I’ve stayed in 3 different AirBnb’s all been acceptable but not palatial.

The town is a good laugh, decent curry house called Red Spice, had a few beers in various bars and ended up in the Kirk house, proper dive but everyone having the best time and so cheap.

I’m 38 not quite tipping the 40 year old aspirations.

The breakfast on the retail park isn’t that bad.

Make sure your Airbnb has a shed or somewhere solid to lock a bike to.

We took lots of locks to ensure maximum faffage for any would be thieves.

    Lots of friendly locals.

I have the WG2 which has been out in damp conditions, tbh there is little point filming in the rain.

I mount mine directly to a Stuntman chest harness, it is a lot more stable than the chesty type mounts.

I cut down one of the adaptor bolts so I could bolt straight through into the Gimbal, this keeps the unit as close to the body as possible to capture some of the bars in shot.

I’m finishing off an edit with a fair bit of Gimbal action I will upload it here later.
