Wow…already sounds tricked…if it were mine the brakes and saddle would be changed as would the stem for a Thomson but that’s just cause I have a thing about them (have one on all three of imply bikes).

Oh yeah Thomson seat clamp 😉

If you’re local to Cannock Dan Stanton would probably offer you a ride around there on his Switchback, if not Stanton owners group on FB has lots of friendly folk, sure someone would be happy to let you have a spin.

Thanks to the guys above you’ve made me feel better about my Slackline Ti 🙂 always wondered if I should get a Switchback but can’t afford a Ti so stuck with the Slackline…I absolutely love my Slackline Ti but THAT Switchback Ti promo bring out the worst in my lust for new bikes!!!

I certainly don’t drive a Q7, I don’t give a monkeys about what I pull out the boot…I just love the fact my daughter loves her bike, enjoys ridding it and finds it easy to ride.

I’ve found the Islabike to be great, after two years still like new, not a single issue and I’ll be surprised if it ends up costing me £25 for the privilege as the new price has gone up £50.

She saw Isla & frog she like the Pink of the Isla, I think the none metallic on the frog was the deal breaker for her.

I ride a Slackline and have a good number of chums I’ve ridden with who have a Switchback (part of an owners group on FB who meet up). I always thought the Switchback was more DH/Agro but they all seem to love them and do lots of XC and love them. My Slackline is my XC bike.

It also depends on travel 120mm go Soul 140mm go Stanton. Be mindful there is a MK2 coming soon(ish) which address the rear tyre clearance issue. When the MK1 was designed it was designed around a narrower tyre some wanted larger volume tyres (2.4) which do t fit without rubbing.

Cheers I’ll contact them, HJ reckon £17-£22k for a medium sized kitchen with Island but that’s out of the sales so I’m thing £14-£19k. I’ve heard Neptune are cheaper but wanted to see if I could get any feedback on quality before going over the main show rooms are 70-80 miles away!!

Read lots of folk saying local joinery companies are better value to but I’m finding to hard to find any online.

I’ve always had great service and good communications. Think it’s great they’ve come on here to explain the situation an TBH it must be really tough, all the LBS owners moan about time waster…I imagine these companies get their fair share of that too.

As they stated they ensure look after ‘paying’ customers first and foremost and given the circumstances I think that’s the correct move!

They’ve taken my money three times despite the fact it told me it had failed!! None with discount!! Doh…hassle ahead!!

    Well I’ve been royally screwed!!

Wouldn’t take payment…then PP took full payment excluding discount but did not process order!!!

Haven’t read every post but there seems to be a lot of folk on here anti mortgages. I appreciate it’s great to be mortgage free and naturally it will be wonderful when I am 🙂

However I have no unsecured debt but a fair sized mortgage, the way I see it though is the family and me need to live somewhere! So I have two options as I can’t by cash…mortgage or rent ! Regardless of the interest I will have paid over the 25 years there are a few facts that ensure I sleep well at night…

    1) my mortgage payment is a couple hundred pound cheaper than renting the house next door (win)
    2) each month half of my payment comes of the capital, this will increase over the years (win)
    3) at the age of 55 I will not have to worry about affording rent to keep a roof over my head (win)
    4) I have the security of knowing that as a home owner and not renter I won’t be forced to move when someone else dictates! (win)
    5) I know how much I’m paying (yes it could rise with interest rates) and it’s unlikely to rise significantly, not sure that will be the case in 20 years for rent prices (win)

Yes you can see a mortgage as a bind but we need to live somewhere and it’s the lesser of two evils to me

When I went to pick up my bike I met at a petrol forecourt with cameras, took a photo of sellers car/reg then handed over my car keys so I could take it for a little spin (not out of sight). TBH the bike and car were probably of equal value. I wouldn’t have handed over keys for my new (company) £26k golf!

I like Connor but I think he now has to accept he’s king in the smaller division but can’t walk through the divisions, as he goes up his power gets less and opponents chins get stronger not to mention they hit harder. (For those that didn’t watch he was screwed before it hit the floor, punch drunk like Ronda was).

I can’t now see a convincing reason why he will get a shot at the 155 belt. TBH he needs to works massively on his ground game cause he’s come up very short once again. If said Diaz was a good boxer with exceptional ground/BJJ on social media and felt the upset might be there.
Connor (like Hollie Holme) has proved to be a one dimensional fighter in MMA, good stand up but you can’t be like that in MMA.

I see a short and unsuccessful MMA career for Connor from here on out, every one will use the take down and ground game against him, look at Petisbeaten once then every body follows suite with strategy!

Never rated Hollie Holme myself, not really done great in UFC until Ronda, was winning fights but bloody boring she wouldn’t open up, very much a counter fighter and Ronda bum rushed her and play into her strengths. Hollie doesn’t have a ground game right now…bit like Connor!

What I find very interesting following adding circa 750g to my Orange Five with my CCDB Coil is this…20kg slows you down by circa 10%, 10kg by circa 5% so 750g is seeker FA.

And with tyre choice, set up, line choice an other variables it mean virtually nothing!

You need to speak to a good broker they have deals that are better than the man on the street can access. Also some lesser known household names (still very big players in the mortgage market).

milewsmith – I read the article and though maybe air is the way to go but I can get a CCDB air for £300 new, the X2 and CCDBACS is £450/£500. More than I can afford/justify right now!

    nwill1

You’re most probably right but the issue is I can afford a new CCDB as I can get it at circa £300 new, best price on the CS is £150 more which is too much for me.

I was just reading about the Fox X2, the review for a trail bike was favourable despite no climb switch.

Rorschach…pretty sure it’s not where your thinking, the only certainty is that all three are independently owned and most defiantly NOT owned by the same person.

Can’t provide any specifics but where I’m located there are a 3 really good local bike shops within about a 3 mile radius.

One been trading many years, sells high end Mountain & Road bikes.

One fairly new (circa 5 years) specialise in high end mountain bikes.

One was a very long standing bike shop that had stood still from the 80’s to the 00’s but was brought out a few years ago and has been brought bang up to date selling some great brands an all the las test kit, now one of my favs.

They all ‘appear’ to be doing well, same as any business if you get it right there is a market. But that’s the tough bit I suppose do you feel your business plan would hold up?

We picked up a 2015 Outwell Bearlake 4 at the end of last season, half price as was the Extention.

It’s lovely, being Polycotton, it has nearly all of the benefit of cotton without the full weight penalty. Warmer in the cold, cooler in the warm not as heavy either, it is notable and if your camping in France with a young one worth having somewhere to shelter. Defo recomend cotton/pollycotton. The Bell tents look great though too, normally cotton aswell!

Haha…the last thread was my fav on STV ever!!

I really want Connor to win and I was a bit doubtful at first, physiologically I was thinking ‘he’s fighting bigger, stronger opponents at 155’ but logically Connor is too big to fight at 145. The cut must take it’s toll and therefore Connor may not even be his best, fittest or strongest at 145 at 155 I think he will be a power house, there are a fair few fighters who moved up to their natural weight and fought much much better.

Connors ring craft, fluidity, flexibility or speed should not deteriorate at 155 but his strength and power will be greater…I think he’ll nail RDA! It ain’t going be easy but I reckon he’s got it!!

As for 170…probably one step too far, I reckon he may have Robbie but would struggle more with others in the division.

I don’t like ads that are ambiguous, ‘good’/’great’ condition without them giving any specifics i.e no dents or scratches. Generally, if it’s vague confirm everything so you have written proof of what you can expect when the goods arrive. I’d be miffed at the dent but annoyed with myself for not asking. I think eBay/PayPal will side with you though.

I get annoyed with folk on here saying what can you expect…I expect goods to be as described regardless of new or used!!

What’s the difference in current rate? Probably not much with rates at an all time low and over the next 3 years rates will only go up. Fixed given the current situation.

When they call and say I’m calling about the accident your were in I say “brilliant, which one. I’ve been waiting for a call”. They think they’re onto a winner! I then just lead them on and on, sometimes I hang up or sometimes start to say…”hello…hello…oh there’s no one ther” and hang up whilst I can hear them desperately trying to get me to hear them. Good fun, wastes their time, makes me smile 🙂

All down to companies T’s & C’s…I had a 7 year old car that owed me nothing…took the allowance and ran! All my T’s & C’s stated was the car must be kept legal and roadworthy, I was obliged to prove MOT/Tax and appropriate business insurance. Cars a bit clapped now so have sold it and had a New Golf GTD te allowance would not ce close to running one of them let alone the capital expenditure!! 🙂

It’s strange I’ve ridden Flats all my life and the freedom to eject fromthe bike at any time gives me the confidence to try things I probably shouldn’t, I’d be scared to try anything clipped in!

Anyway, yeah Five Tens (take your pick) and as for pedals, Vaults without question! I’ve ridden a fair few pedals, I have saints on the FS and like them, had V12’s, like them. I’d read and heard so much about Vaults, I just thought whatever, I tried the Nanos and didn’t like them at all, I then brought a bike complete with the vaults on…on my they’re just so right!

Don’t trust the scales…when I’ve used (expensive) devices at the gym they’ve been very inconsistent!

Don’t rule out doing some weight lifting/toning exercises, some of the best ways to burn fat. Dead lifts/Squats/Benchpress/ Pull Ups etc if no gym/equiptment you can still do bodyweight squats/push ups/ pull ups/dips etc often at home. Lower weight high reps,

But as said it’s not all about calories it’s about where they come from, eat clean throw in some bodyweight exercises on top of the training and you’ll see the benefits.

    Stanton do 3…Slackline…Switchback…Sherpa. 26″, 27.5″, 29″ all based covered.

Charge also do a very nice looking Cooker Ti 27.5″+

I have a Ti Slackline, was looking for a steel one but the Ti came up at the right price and I’m extremely happy with it 🙂

I’m not sure haven’t looked…yeah the CCDB was ace but it was heavy and I was doing more and more XC. Now I have the Ti Slackline for XC wish I’d kept it 🙁 was advised by a lot that the Monarch Plus was very good on the Five.

If I can tune it myself with volume spacers great but not sure what I need to be doing…I’m a suspension set up novice!
