Looked at revs at Merlin but no deals on travel adjust, can’t fond anywhere else where prices are circa £300-£400?

Also, can’t afford to keep changing and want the option of more travel for if & when I change frames.

Sorry fox are at 140 not 149, typo.

It on my charge blender, only bike, does everything, xc, trail, 4x, DH, BMX track. I liked the Pike but brought 36s on a whim, lighter, pimper, stiffer and better damped. It’s just that I’m not getting on with them due to not being travel adjust (well not easily). If they were travel adjust I’d look no further but given my frame and ridding all sorts I now feel its a must! Talas out the question due to price and they loose small bump compliance apparently.

Trying to decide whether to put the pikes back on or get something different.

Sounds like quite a few, I was hoping this was be the case, I’m only trained basic compared to some but I feel I know enough to benefit, must start taking a better kit out though.

1 Bike does it all here, not got as much £££ as many on here seem to have!

Good speced Charge Blender for trails & fun times.

I’d give it a miss. Was due to be used as an nps track this year….they said it was going to be improved & extended. I went the week before to check it out, overgrown, dilapidatednot to mention a mud bath, they blamed the weather for the cancellation but I think that was just a good reason to call it off. I wouldn’t put this & Redhill in the same sentence (apart from this one to say I wouldn’t).

I only live 20 minutes away and its not even worth the journey from here let alone any further.

€2999 Yes that is a lot of money but compared to competitors prices apears very reasonable!

Looked that the site…sounds like a bum deal their example is a 2012 meta am3 RRP 2500 Leased for 2 years at a cost of £1750….yes leased!! The exact same bike is available on CRC at a price of £1630!! Plus at the end of 2 years you can flog it (or keep it), let’s say £630, net cost £1000 vrs £1750??

Guessing these are rare in the UK? Seem to be alot in the US, any reason?

I live closer to cannock than degla, I’d pick degla every time for 1 reason….flow, cannock just has a lack of flow (i won’t mention braking bumps, they upset some apparently). They’re is nothing ‘difficult’ at degla in the way of technical or jumpy terrain as everything came be rolled, there are few challenging (for me at least) climbs on the black.

Do it you won’t regret it!

Deepo…..Take it your one of these that goes for form over function then? Looking good is more important than function to you?

Philbert31….I know I can handle myself against a chav, take them out….but don’t fancy my chances against a wild bear!

I’d be terrified out there & Canada….I’m scared is fall off and either die from dehydration or be eaten by a bear….besides its fun riding in the rain!?!?

Little ones got a zoooom here, nice, well built, picked it up from Winstanleys for a good price bout £60-£70 solid little balance bike, would recomend it, seen others, much of a muchness, they provide 2 length seat piss too so when they’re little can slam it but got the height when they get bigger.

The more I read & think the less appealing it sounds, I do give it a reasonable about of abuse, I cased my mavic rim on a 15 foot hook to log hang up! Frame didn’t flinch….

I’ve seen a steady stream of them coming up over there various web sites, I’m thinking about it now so that if I decide to buy I cahn nab one as soon as it comes up. As they are ax little rare when they come up no time for pondering!

Got me thinking now….apart from pimpness I was keen to shead some weight 3 pounds lighter sounded appealing. Anyone have experience with charge Ti frames?

Charge Blender, although they’ve had a price hike recently, I paid £200 new, you can get one for £100 second hand.

Never ridden 29″ i rode BMX for years….I’ve only just got used to 26″ going 29″ just seems insane but folk tend to be raving about it….might arrange a test ride.

Based on other feedback…ie uturn….coil, the lyrik (second hand) would be spot on.

Dependant on your perspective £76 may or may not be alot of £££ but I’ve only ever heard of raved reviews for Revs, Sektor are a similar but a budget version, I have a set of pikes and would have them over sektors. Again if your looking at standard qr against bolt through I would go bolt through evertime but that’s dependant on ridding style.

    If budget allows go Revs!

    Identit Krisis RRP 299
    (Winsanleys £240)

    Santa Cruz Jackel £570

My Blender 🙂 Frame £200 (new)
    http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/8244950/

If your spending that kinda dosh I’d have a test ride first, the Krisis looks real good though but Yeti have the World Cup win under their belt and Scott Boom Boom rides one this year and has done very well at the British 4X.

You planning on getting into racing??

    What’s you budget??

    nwill1

Charge Blender, ridden a few tracks and had the odd and mates race…saying that its the only 4X bike I’ve ridden!! It’s good fun, strong and I use it as an all rounder, bit heavy for competitive racing though.

To be fair if I were serious and were to race (budget no consideration) I’d be looking at the following:

Yeti DJ (don’t be fooled by the name!) is meant to be totally mean
Identiti Krisis…I’ve seen alot of people riding these, very popular on the British 4X series
    Santa Cruz Jakel
    Transition Bank

Have a look through this thread….

A guy on here sold this too…not sure he even rode the thing, was asking like £900 or £1000 or something…. Bargain!!!

    nwill1

I’d go second hand, you need to be careful to make sure you get a good one but there are genuinely some bargains out there at that price range!!

Take this Cove Stiffee for example…

    http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1156126/

Knock the guy down £50 and if the money was burning a hole in your pocket, make a couple of upgrades, not as though you’d need too!!

Built a BFE frame XS rode around the carpark too small…stripped it & sold it only, barely lost any £££…live & learn, I brought it on a whim!

Ex BMXer here….used to ride DJ….have a bike that is representation of my BMX (4X Bike)….Love fast flowy jumpy bumpy smooth trails….reasonably good at gravity orientation riding, keep up with some of these flash FS bikes on the downs…. CRAP at climbing and long hauls get beaten by the fat old and unfit!

Very good….Wouldn’t take that bike (or even the camera) over fens pool though….if you hadn’t been so fast it would have been nicked….I once had a traveler (think that’s the pc term) with a wheel barrow offer to fight me for my bike….not sure what I’d have got if i’d have won!?

It’s only the UK that run brakes setup rear on the left, the BMX Olympic heats have just been on….all riders with one break….rear….on the right, I used to ride a BMX like that so carried it over to mountain bike and put the front on the left….was terrified I’d instinctively pull the right hard and go otb!
