I spoke to them today place an order for something else the guy told me….”the offer was for ‘special’ customers (big spenders, etc)”.

He said some orders will have slipped through the net but lots won’t be honoured!

Cheers jon, very balance opinion much appreciated, what risks are there with a small amount of scoring?

Do they really last longer? Some seem to think not.

Cheers watsontony but I live in Stourbridge in the Midlands. Sounds simple enough if I’m patient. Will look for a cheap Hope, there might be some deals after Christmas.

PS confident getting the cups in is easy but how do you get the old one out without the specific tool?

I do prefer the look if the hope and like hope stuff in general but was under the illusion CK lasted a lifetime, Hope likely to last as long? Guess they’re very easy to restore to new aswell given you can buy all parts?

If I had £750 to drop on a play bike frame the cove hooker is a bargin!

b r need to check full t’s & c’s but I would expect it would need to be locked up if unattended, but I’m one of those who winces when I read people leave their bike on a roof rack…I won’t leave my bike unattended for a second! Guessing it’d be covered if someone took it for me though (unlikely unless well armed!)

Cheers its annual, I’ll rock with it, it was included in AA’s quote but it was £300, L&G is only £140 (and I get £75 in M&S vouchers) but have to pay £63 to cover the bike….sounds like a plan.

    Thank you.

Most might say yes but depends on the bike and type of ridding, HT DH/Enduro then may be cool, you’ve got Talas give it a go, DJ/4X leave it down, DH wind it out.

I’m with glasgowdan, I missed out, shame so many people are selling on eBay I counted about 15 pairs, but that’s life I guess, have agreed to buy a rear 10 speed of a pal £17.50 still a bargin!

Sanity check….is the offer still on? I’m reading LH Front £15.99 does that mean I just get the front? Or does it mean I get the LH front and one on the right for the rear??
    Someone help!

Cheers, I know he likes the Blue Pig, looks like he needs to keep an eye out. I think it would be hard to find a new gen BFE even at £200!?

The ice tech just avoid/reduce fade on long decents, if your ridding somewhere like the Alps apparently a good idea, most UK DH and trails probably won’t benefit as the non ice tech are still very good paired with XT brakes. I ride the non ice tech and I’ve never noticed any fade anyway with my XT’s or previous SLX.

What Gsuperstar & hora said, I’d be more than gutted if mine got stolen but I take every care I can to prevent it, I literally will not take my eye off it if its not locked up at home.

1153 feedback 99.2% positive? Lots of buying aswell as selling….not what I would look for in a doddgy trader, is there not just a chance he does a bit of trading, he may have inadvertently brought these for a song not realising?

Cash on collection too? Normal way to sell stolen goods?

I’ve had X2’s and XT, personally I found a big difference in power with XT’s being better, the X2s look much better but I ride my bike not look at it.

Plus I paid £115 for both ends from Rose so nearly 1/2 the price

If I were after a new bike, hardcore hardtail, I’d by this on ctw and transfer all parts onto say a new bfe! Awsome, & would only cost about £800 all told! (yes I know ctw, the bikes not yours etcetc….but I’d still do it)

As James said….I read an article arguing that MX helmets are made for bigger (harder/faster) offs and that Mtb specific have better protection at lower speeds (based of push bikes traveling at significantly lower speeds)

Ride whatever you want as long as you have fun but I do agree with the article. I ride a do it all hardtail with a gravity bias, often I keep up with full on DH rigs, think they’d sometimes go quicker of a hardtail or short travel.

Ridding a DH rig on some of the DH terrain I ride is like rocking up to a family pitch & putt with a full set of pings….but whatever makes you happy!

No experience with either of those but if I were spending £150-£200 is be looking at used. Saw a set of 454 Uturn pike like new go on the bay for £195 last week, 95-140 travel….meaning frame upgrade-a-bility for when you buy along travel steel HT.

2nd hand rebas would be another good bet if weight is am issue & your not wanting more than 100/120mm in the near future.

XT from rose are hard to beat when it comes to value. Or Slx if you want to save £15. Not got the modulation of hope at slower speeds but modulation at higher speeds is very good but then at least the XT’s can actually stop you quickly!

The whole area is not a shithole….just Dudley and a few surrounding pockets….everywhere has good and bad areas!

You just need to know your ‘hood’

All the best to the guy, I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out.

I emailed charge about blender stickers a while ago they said their UK distributor should have some, if you contact your local supplier they will be able to order them in, not something that is a stock item I don’t think.

XTs are ace…if you don’t like the power get X2’s they have more modulation but less power, if you ride fast, especially downhill the XTs have good modulation.
