Condolences, that yeti is certainly a unique colourway. Will keep an eye out on the web been looking for a Five frame so if I see anything I’ll get in touch. Again the orange with the gold stickers seems fairly unique.

Looks fun. Shindiggy – cheers, it’s just that I’ll be driving over and didn’t know if the car park had restrictions. I rode local this morning Kinver as I was unsure. I’ll get myself over very soon for what looks like some flat out fun.

Interesting…I like the high end reviews, today’s £3500 bikes will be 2015’s second hand bargains, £1200 or so often under used by people with so much money they upgrade evey year (and fair play if they work hard to earn it). I’ll be looking back at the achieve to decide which bargain to pick up.

As for spend I’ve probably spent £1400 or so over a period of four or 5 years building two very nicely speced bikes, including a mint set of 2010 36 floats i paid £250 for, I checked reviews before buying…when reviewed they were circa £650!!

Currently looking for a 16″/17″ FS frame for trail riding, 2010 Orange 5, Blood, ST4 or Specialized Pitch, not overly fussed but reckon if I’m patient could pick one up for £3-400. Of course these bikes were all expensive new so old reviews are very useful.

+1 for Baz at two wheels, excellent wheel builder in my experience. Very good value aswell.

I saw a frame on here 2 months ago, just missed out to some guy who appears to have ‘pimped’ it up and is trying to sell it for a over inflated price, the guy in question is now looking to split and ‘open’ to offers, I have offered what he paid for the frame but he has not come back to me…

Sometime there are some crazy bargains to be had but I think there are lots of people who buy and sell to make a few quid.

Another example is when I saw a very nice BFE, hardly used with revs hope tech 2 brakes etc, £650 the guy sold it for (just missed out again) next thing it was on here and PB for £1000 ono. I put an ad spoiler but got warned by a mod !!

Crazy in my opinion but surely just a slight magnification of lots of mountain bike kit….something’s value is what someone is willing to pay.

Some on here happily drop over £3k on a push bike and past a point there are most certainly diminishing returns…but who cares, I know people who piss thousands up the wall, spend it on what makes you happy!

With a £10 discount for liking Rose Bike on Facebook I got front & rear XTs (no discs) posted for £115 so didn’t even think about it…that said the deores on there are even cheaper!

I use both but PB is much better for clear ads, my ads on STW normally give brief details before a link as I still haven’t worked out how to get pics up on here !!!! doh!!!

Also you can quickly repost and people can search for you goods much easier on PB.

Case 1: as most above have stated report to the Police…however often others do things that may upset us (in fact it happens all the time) but you need to learn to respond better, you need to understand anger fuels anger…he made you anger so you became the aggressor (yes hurling abuse and obscenities is aggressive) what were you expecting ??? The guy to come over and apologise ???

In future either bite your tongue or realise an aggressive act will lead others to retaliate with further aggression…not saying for a minute the guy is in the right or was not in the wrong for pulling out on you but YOU could have avoided the confrontation situation!

Not sure if Rose still offer £10 off if you like them on Facebook but I got XT for £115 both ends!

It worked out £15 more, so shifted SLX and got XT, no difference really, performance is identical, XT couple grams lighter, Allen bolt instead of hair clip holding in the pads and bite point adjust (which I don’t use).

Extra tenner get XT extra £50 get SLX.

    This ^^^

I came from a BMX background…didn’t get the whole suspension thing, first bike (Giant XTC) was a tentative entry into mtb, it came with darts and they were clunky and horrible, they dont give much then all of a sudden dive. When I decided i loved mtb (6 mths later) I changed frame and fork (to a pike) and I stopped noticing I even had suspension as they were so super smooth by comparison. I managed to sell my Darts for close on £100 on eBay and picked the Pikes up new for £275, the Pikes are now on Mrs bike and I have Fox 36’s.

No worries, if you change your mind feel free to contact me. In light of this info I’ll probably pop it on the classified.

I’m pretty sure I have a brand new one, there were two included, I’ve got a small head so used the according one, if you need the one for the larger head I’ll post it for £10, I think that’s reasonable given they’re £11.99 on CRC and there may be none in the UK.

Mines in a well maintained state all except needing new jocky wheels in my rear XT mech but I keep holding off replacing them (for £10) in a bid to convince myself £100 plus is worth it to go 10 speed with a Zee clutch mech! Oh….and my brakes are squeaking just s little.

I’m a purest I just did photographic although I take my hat off to graphic designers, something I can’t do.

True, if you like them though the price is very good 🙂 I suppose they are more graphic than photographic & I’m an old skool purest.

Don’t want to be a hater but….they make a poor to average photo look half decent. They’re also a bit of a gimmick the kind of thing that looks good now but in a year or so you’ll think they oks ghastly!

GrahamS & Kato, be my guest carry on calling 999 and dismiss this but its something to consider and there is obviously a reason we were explicitly told that its better than 999 for pin pointing location.

I’ll stick with 112 god forbid I ever need it for either myself or somebody else.

Didn’t watch the vid but (and this needs verifying)…

Apparently (was informed on a Red Cross First Aid Course) the benefit of 112 in the UK from a mobile is that it is quicker & easier to trace the call and pinpoint location! If your out in the hills and have an off this could be of paramount importance.

Had both, other than differences already stated and the bolt instead of hair type clip holding the pads in there is no difference however from Rose there is almost no difference in price (about £10-£20) so may as go XT or whichever you think looks better.

Thought Yeah I’ll go for that, have done similar deals in the past, then read the small print….minimum subscription term 12 months…£10 per 3 months, think I’ll pass.

Avoided riding in the monsoon season (christmas break) but went out today and was amazing, perfect temperature and the ground was tacky but fairly fast. (Midlands Based)

    I don’t want to ride a 29er, I came from 20″ and 26″ still seems big!

I ride a bit of everything and get the benefits of 29″ on XC and trail, yes you can jump on 29″ you can jump on whatever if your good but can’t see DJ riders and 4X riders going 29″ anytime soon.

I was out over Kinver DH/Freeride today, as well as the 10 riders riding there there were about 20 XC guys come through, all on 26″ the only exception was one guy riding solo on a CX bike.

26″ Dying…maybe magazine coverage is dwindling but not in the real world!
