Have checked with MoJo and it can’t be done on pre 2011 models…I’ll have to consider my options.

Have considered Lyriks but my 36’s are very clean and I’ve had them from nearly new & I know the history, changing forks could be costly given what they’re probably now worth 🙁

Very much so, Dan Stanton is the owner, I’ve bumped into him a few times, a sound guy here is a link to his profile on pinkbike…

    http://www.pinkbike.com/u/cruzrace/

I messages him on there one time, here offered to meet me at Cannock chase to test ride his own Slackline! I was contemplating building one up then a deal came up on a FS, having not ridden FS before I’ve gone for it, still long for a Slackline though 🙁

If your like me & spend hard earned cash on let’s face it expensive gear you want to look after it and make it last as long as possible. Yes we all have accidents…part and partial of what we enjoy, if you damage something using as intended easily acceptable but the last thing you want is scratched stanchions from so avoidable idiot act…tell him & his kid not to touch!

Just remember the Five swing arm is smaller than the Patriot so needs scaling down!

I paid £10 and a few pennies for the two down tube orange stickers & the two stars for the swing arms, that included 1st class postage and a cardboard backed envelope. Excellent service.

    +1 for DNFIVE

I received an absolute excellent service from them.

Called on a Friday at 2.00 pm, talked the guy through what I wanted (patriot swingarm decal scaled down without the word patriot) and received it the following morning and it was very reasonably priced wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

    Pic of new decals:

I’ve just invested in my first full suss, a little more than that but worth more than twice what I paid for it when new, 2nd hand all the way….just ensure you know what your looking at, do your research and buy face to face.

Hi, I am the guy who brought your 5D Classic, I was massively undecided whether to go FF 5D classic or all singing all dancing crop sensor 7D. Over all massively impressed with the 5D and glad I rolled with it, the quality is just beautiful, I’ve snapped a few 4X races with it which is new to me, got some ace shots but the auto focus system of the 7D would have benefited me, hey ho can’t have everything (well not for my budget, a 5D mk3 would be ideal).

Anyway a few of my shots….(L glass of course)

S*#t… I was ridding solo on single track through Kinver last week and a buzzard swooped parallel to me, only a couple of meters away, then on my return it flew over me again.

At the time I thought it was a magical experience, as close to flying as I could imagine (both times going flat out down hill) now I’m thinking it was a close escape and am fearful of going back alone!!!

I’ve just brought one based on reading good things about them & actually liking the look…that and a friend of a friend selling it cheap to get a quick sale so he can pick up a 650b version! It’s my first full suss & so far so good.

At the price I paid it was good value and would be easy to recoup losses should I decide against it but I really don’t think that’s gona happen given my first couple of rides.

I love it so far and am expecting a long and happy future 🙂

Never been there but I have to laugh at the irony…mountain bikers discussing a world where people pay over the odds for products to make themselves feel better about themselves…what bike do you ride? Do you NEED it?

Everyone that can beat me on 26″ will probably be quicker on 650 or 29″ anyone I can beat on a 26″ probably won’t beat me on a 650 or 29″…suck on that Giant!!!

Let the air out and was about 7-8mm of travel left…I’ve come to the conclusion they are 145mm travel!!

Not really, they must be 140mm.

    nwill1

Cheers I thought that was the case but 12mm seems quite a lot, saying that 2mm would not be enoght of 150mm. I will let all of the air out just to see where that drop to.

Haha, I’ve met a number of compulsive liers in my time (none bike related) and the only way to deal with them is call them out like these guys, doesn’t look too extreme for some one who can ride and they weren’t to know he would break himself….saying that he looked pissed, he seemed to struggle standing!

Anyway hope he has healed well as its never nice to see someone get hurt, however probably won’t stop him lying!

As already stated look before you leap but you already know that, I did a lot of DJ on BMX in my younger days, bailing is in its self a skill, well worth mastering, in that case jump up, do the splits, push handle bars down beneath legs….simples.

I’ve eyed these up before for a mate, as new I’ve seen them sell between £550 & £800, start at the higher price, advertise in several places & drop incrementally up it gets snapped up. I think size makes a difference to price to, M/L frames open up a bigger market, S/XL have a smaller market.

From Rosé there was only a £15 difference, I went XT, but I’ve also had the SLX, no real difference, XT just marginally more pimp!

Never go alone, meet in a very public well lit busy area. Pinkbike have some advise on their site on one part it suggests meeting outside of a police station.

In my experience I try to communicate as much as possible, always speaking before a meet. From communications I establish what they’re like (as best as possible) ie well spoken, good literacy skillz (see what I did there) and the like, I think gumtree is a pretty dodgy site, I like to use STW & Pinkbike where you can look at their history, I’m always cautious of new users.

One final thing is avoid giving the buyer your address, if they are a bit dodgy last thing you want is them knowing where you keep your bikes!

For me value often (not always) is based on cost, I do have a good LBS which I use but when I can save £££’s I go online.

I look at prices online and always check with LBS is they can match/come close on price, if they can I’m there, if not I buy online, often though they still do alright as I will take stuff in & pay for it to be fitted. Crazy how you can buy something online, pay for getting it fitted at LBS and still save money. Everyone’s a winner in that situation.

    Example
    KMC 10 Speed chain £17
    Zee rear mech £35
    XT Cassette £50
    SLX Shifter £15
    Fitting £20

    Total £137

LBS quoted like for like fitted £200! With a young family & other hobbies I can hardly afford £63 for loyalty….business is business!
