Totalshell…this has been my tack so far, the site is .co.uk there is no mention of China, to my mind I have not authorised a transaction in China!

I have informed the bank there is a fraudulent transaction on my account, the only transaction is £160.84 from some random in China…let’s see the merchant prove authorisation…there was no varieties by visa…that’s what alerted me!

    http://www.barbouroutlets.co.uk

On the Barbour website it says that there should be no other website selling Barbour with Barbour in the domain but theirs (official one obviously!)

Thing is the coat was £149, it was cheaper elsewhere including ASOS (£100) but was out of stock at cheaper outlets!

No, it’s fine…it’s so not like me but the site looks so legit, granted I did not look at the finer details but it was so convincing I was caught off guard, nothing prompted me to investigate until I’d paid…Arhhhhhh!

Thank you DKNWHY had s good read very useful.

K-Sugden – sounds like the same site…can you let me know how you sorted it? If you don’t want to post please feel free to email me on nwill1 at ymail dot com. Stupidly I paid by Debit Card instead of Credit Card.

I’ve been suckered due to over confidence by some many positive transactions online…my guard is now well and truly back up!!

I reported to my bank immediately, they’ve blocked my card and noted the transaction as disputed, I’ve sent emails and messages to cancel the order although this is not going to happen.

It was a visa debit and I’ve read up about chargebacks, first off I need to see of the goods arrive or not, if so prove they’re fake (the brand on question will do this) then try to claim…fingers crossed!

I’d been ridding about 5 years on a HT after a long break from BMX. Never wanted a FS then got curious, brought an Orange Five 18 mtgs ago, still got a HT for pumptrack/4x/DJ etc but would never want to loose the comfort of FS for trail ridding and just as much fun without feelin like I’ve taken a beating everytime I’ve ridden!

I accidentally order two small before actually ordering the correct size (large) anyway when I came to cancel my incorrect order it came to light that SweatShop is the same co as Sports Direct who just so happen to have Large in stock…

Fill your boots whilst they last…

Depends on your ridding style…if your stright up XC and bumble down decents and think that a 1ft step is a big deal no point, if you wanna fly down as fast as you can throwing the bike around corners and over jumps and drops they’re the best thing ever, wold never want to go back unless I knew it was a very dull ride…ie canel tow paths and the like!

As for price/value…they seem a lot for a seat post but great value in my eyes as above paid about £160 new for a Reverb.

I’m late to the party but had to comment..I watch the vid and just thought what a pile of shit! Sorry no other way to describe it the kids in the vid were far too big and looked like they were really struggling to ride them…I was expecting some awesome ‘toddlers shouldn’t be able to do that’ ridding. To then come on here and see 2 companies arguing over the design is mind baffling!

Haha…you don’t have to believe me but I have no reason to lie! You asked for advise…now your asking for me to substantiate my claims…ledgend but unfortunately i don’t keep a record of every item I follow on eBay…I’d have quite a catolouge as I’m following upto 50 items at any one time, something’s to keep an eye on the worth of an item…you ought to try it for yourself…save starting threads asking peoples advice and experience that you probably won’t believe or accept!

Interesting thread…asking the value of something when you know what you want…looked at your F&F ad, someone offered £700 sounded a fair offer as you were asking £725…you said £760 posted WTF!?

As for the wheels I’ve seen a new set with all adaptors and full warrenty from a shop sell on eBay for £225! I’d say £150 is about fair. Despite being 26″ I’m guessing they’re 20mm front unless you have the adaptor it will be an added cost…most forks are 15mm these days.

I read a wheel size comparison today in a mag…back to back testing on a 7k loop of 26″/650b/29″.

Over 7k and 21 minutes there was 30 seconds between the three! (With 26″ being the slowest) Now unless your racing who really gives a shit????

I have 36’s at 140 and CCDB, descends like a beast!!

I’d like the Pikes at 150mm to lighten it up but waiting till they’re circa £350 again!!

I’m in a similar boat…just ride when I can try 2 to 3 rides a month, can fit more in in the summer with the longer days. I’m well unfit but I just love ridding my bike so do it when I can!

Other than the elbow greese which I have in excess, is it easy to get a frame lookin like new, I.e get rid of the cable rub? It’s a charge frame and looks like a brushed finish, would using Auto sol make it too shiny? Reason I ask is I love Autosol (sad) an have always used it to get a mirror like finish but that is on aluminium (saint cranks etc)?

I’ve gradually built up to doing a fair amount myself, most stuff is very basic and easy to lean (using YouTube). The most important thing is having the right tool, my pa always used to say any jobs way if you have the right tools and he’s right!

The only things I avoid is headsets as I change them infrequently and can not be bothered to make/buy a tool and fork/shock servicing…I have no intention of even going there!

I run a CCDB on my Five and it’s ace, I’ve contemplated several times chaining to air to save some weight but I’ve read as good as the CCDBA is the coil is still better. So with that in mind along with the £250 or so it’d cost to swap it out I’m reluctant.

    Still tempted though

Cheers I might try 32:16 on and go from there. 4X race bikes are all geared, normally close ratio blocks of 5 or 6.

I’ve got a zee mech/shifter and for a full on day at a 4X track I’ll pop them back on with gears, but wanted to have a blast at the new skate park in town and fancied trying SS whilst I’m at it, might strengthen me up over winter!?

I’ve seen bike with vertical dropouts running SS without a chain tensioner, how is this achieved…I like the clean look?

Whilst it’s massively wrong and I feel for the guy and genuinely hope he gets it back…really…you leave £4k unlocked on the top of a car…there’s a thread nearly every week like this.

Do we need to do a PSA ? PSA – don’t leave bikes unattended…they might get stolen!

Yeah full XTR/Hope/Renthal should get £1500 dependant on condition. Strange bikes can be quite sort after too if it’s a good un!

I love my 2011 Five (same as 2013) and have no plans to shift it on any time soon but always keep a keen eye on prices, I have noticed a big drop in used prices. I’ve seen complete bikes with nice builds (not quite like yours with those super pimp wheels) sell on eBay for £1200-£1400, some including Reverbs, Hope Hoops & brakes!

Given this I think anything over £700/£800 would be hard to achieve. Might be wrong.

If you like it but want improvement try a CCDB there’s a weight penalty but transforms the bike IMO.

Collection/cash only for me on eBay…also I never sell anything that would indicate that I have high value bikes at home.

I sell on here and Pink Bike, PP Gift or cash on collection meeting at a neutral location.

I feel sorry for OP acting in good faith. All the best.
