Small amount of data – i have about 35gb of music and maybe 5gb of photo’s.

Chromebooks look good but i already have a wireless NAS drive to back everything up. Also read a few reports suggesting chromebook ‘idea’ is a bit of a flash in the pan…?

Probably leaning towards getting a normal style laptop but open to suggestions. Only thing is it wouldnt be used a great deal and most of my computer use is internet browsing on an ipad…

Absolutley do not accept the rubbish the Police tell you about ‘writing’ to the driver. They can access keeper details in an instant.

Current phone is a HTC Desire S. Almost at a standstill now its that slow and battery is half a day at best. 8GB should be enough, just store some music as MP3 files and use the camera for occassional shots.

Deore disc brakes – cheap but just work and hardly require any maintainence

Thanks for all your suggestions. I may give the Deuter one a go from CRC for the price.

Just a 29er hardtail here, which to be fair is a good compromise for on/off road with a change of tyres. Combination of lack of space, another expensive hobby of Scuba Diving which takes up a lot of time and recent house purchase which all leads to lack of funds. Would like a CX bike, but can’t see that happening for a good while yet.. 🙁

Another vote for the Triban 3 here. Had mine since last summer and really can’t fault it for 300 quid. Spec, quality of frame and ride just as good as something twice the price, but with a ‘better’ brand on the downtube. Was considering a basic Trek/Specialized, but as far as I can tell they are no better than the Triban.

I bought one a few months ago as a cheap way into road riding, and wanted something cheap as a second bike to go with my Inbred 29er. As fair I can tell the spec, level of kit and quality is on par if not better than a basic level Specialized/Trek/ any other big name, yet its half the price.
No real experience of road bikes, but it rides really well to me, gears seem fine although not set up very well, and is a lot more comfortable that I thought it would be. I worried it would take ages to get used to drop bars, but that took about 10 miles into the first ride! And it doesn’t look like a cheap bike either, which is a bonus.
Probably the best value bike I have ever bought, IMO.

After deliberating for a while about online dating I gave it a go. First girl I went on a date with after meeting online I have been with since and now engaged, etc.

So I guess it worked for me!

Whichever pick up you get, just remember to get a rack of roof mounted fog lamps, a winch and chrome bull bars fitted for the extra rambo effect and also to impress/intimidate when driving around suburbia and Tesco’s car park.

Had it for a couple of weeks above the treeline in the NW Alps, upper lift station and access roads currently blocked. Just heard reports of a white out further down the valley as well.
