+2 for Starbar… can you still get them ?

    Yep, just eaten one! 😛

One of my favourite's has to be Almond Snickers – dont thinik you can get them in the UK, i only ever saw/ate them in NZ.

    Or Bournville. Brumidgum's original.

There are cheap 20" Haro Marys on ebay at the moment.

Get one of these – http://www.amazon.co.uk/PURE-i-10-Powered-Remote-Control/dp/B001HBIXSW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266234222&sr=8-1

Cheaper than the Apple dock, and offers just the same functions.

Yep, been running some for a year or so, had some 420mm versions for a number of years before that. Cant say a lot really as they are just a rigid fork, they are nice and sturdy and dont seem to flex at all under hard braking. Neither light or heavy really. A good price at £60 as well IMO.

5th 525's – look a bit crap (if that bothers you) but do the job really well. Not touched mine in nearly 5 years apart from pad changes.

Not IME and i have had most hiring them all work at the time. Smallest would be SWB Transit/Trafic.

Yep, going to the rugby match. Thanks for the help – im taking the tube option i think as it looks to be operating as normal.

    Cheers everyone.

4gas4 – Wembley park is where i want to get off at, so should be fine. Im assuming a 2 zone day travel card would work out cheapest?

That looks a bit bit easier – would finding a parking space be a problem?

They do it to mask their own smell – instinctive habits for when dogs would hunt. Our dog has rolled around in the dead body of a rabbit that had been slowly decomposing in the field whilst been baked by the hot summer sun. That has got to be the worst smell EVER.

Not worth the potential hassle IMO.There's loads of other cars out there, look for another. If they have not made it clear to you the car is a write off and they are a trader then i would be very suspicious. Also, if that was the case the trader could land themselves the wrong side of the law.

I like the look of these frames, but cant work out how it would work with gears?

Is it a right faff getting the wheel in and out? Would you set it up by pushing/sliding the wheel to the front of the dropout, or would the wheel foul the front mech?

Get a Mondeo/Vectra instead. Loads cheaper and more to choose from, and cheaper to repair, fix etc. Although i guess they dont have the same 'image'.

Ignore the pressure charts. IME they are approx 20% too high.

I stopped saving coins as the banks these days generally wont accept more than 5 money bags at a time. ('kin joke, i know)

How do the rest of you dispose of vast amounts of coin?

If you avoid the DH courses you will be fine. Main difference is the trails are generally much steeper and go on for a lot longer than the stuff you will ride in the UK. Initially could be a bit intimidating i guess, but you get used to it after a while.

Bleed your brakes before you go and get some arm/leg pads (despite what the online STW hardmen will say otherwise) You will be travelling at much higher speeds so any gravel rash, etc will be a lot worse and could save spoiling your holiday.

Theres an english staffed shop lower down (away from the pleney lift) in Morzine

That one was 'dertmtb', and AFAIK have closed down now.

Very expensive (think £200+ a week), and tend to be knackered. Ive hired out there twice, and the ones i had were rideable, but ive seen others that were pretty much trashed.

Whatever you do, dont get one from the shop that is by the bottom of the Pleney lift.

May be some new set up's out there by now though, i havent been for a couple of years.

Could work out very expensive. I imagine its more now, but last time i was there it was 5 euro's for a pint.

I did it one at a time using a threaded bar and large washer method. As the cup gets close to the headtube, just check the gap is even and take your time.

I briefly used a 440mm rigid (same length as a 100mm fork) on my 456 when i was waiting for a suspension fork to arrive. Didnt feel right – too low and twitchy IMO. Now use a 120mm Recon, and it feels spot on.
