For your local Alpine terrain, id keep the PA out of that lot. Maybe mothball the Wanga frame incase you fancy some winter SS action when the weather is shitty?

I thought it was more of a 700cc bike as opposed to a 'proper' MTB 29er?

Looks good Matt, ideal for the local Col's… 😉

Unless i could see the original damage to the vehicle, and then could trust whoever repaired it, i wouldnt touch it.

This takes the p*ss. Ive reported suspect bikes to ebay in the past, and all i have got is an automated response to phone the Police. Like thats going to make any difference.

Ebay seem to be happy to allow the sale of stolen/suspect goods IMO. Ok they cant vet every item listed, but it doesnt take a genius to read that description and realise some owning a bicycle worth over a grand would describe it better than that…. 😕

Whats this thing about having to split it at specific link/pin then?

Anyone running one of these with gears? Much of a faff with rear wheel removal / adjusting the brakes?

A Haynes manual costs about £15-20 – most of the info you will need will be there. Bit of a no brainer really….

'Thunder'………..LOL. Does it come with a free red neckerchief and holster on the dash for your handgun? 😉

Not worth it IMO. As already said, there are loads of Corsa's and similar about, so there will be another (lower mileage) one round the corner. Buyers market and all that.

Wouldnt an 11-28 be better if you are using a MTB for road use (assuming you are)? Unless you are touring with heavy loads, then a 32/34 may be of more use.

Many of those mentioned above i dislike, but Steve Claridge on 5 live as a football pudit – its the hysterical booming southern 'Powrts-maffff' accent that does my 'kin head in.

Broke tib and fib down by my ankle many years ago after a coming together with a VW Passat… 😳

Very nearly a compound fracture, but after an operation the doc's manipulated the bones into place and then i was in plaster for 12 weeks (cut down to knee after 6). About 3 weeks after the plaster came off i could put full pressure on the leg, and few more weeks back to walking properly. The physio hurt more than the break!!

Sorry if that doesnt help, but that was my experience. If you are having it pinned AFAIK it heals quicker.

Is the new section similar to FTD or is a bit more 'RAD'?

Another vote for basic Deore brakes here. Cant see why you would want any more unless you want to save weight, or bling is important to you.

For a medium sized car id go for a Nissan Almera. No street cred, but (A) cheap (B), well made and (C) likely to have been owned by an elderly person (ie not ragged and regularly serviced).

Only ever had hardtail or rigid. Just bought a full-susser, but with potential redundancy round the corner going to have to sell…. 🙁
