Only dived in UK and Red Sea so little to compare against.

<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>However as already said above Farne Islands and St Abb’s are superb in the right conditions. Just a bit of a PITA dry suit diving, kit wise. </span>

I learnt to dive via BSAC,  mainly because MIL is a instructor.

No point in going into a BSAC/PADI debate, but I found bsac method very thorough and gave me confidence before I commited to deeper stuff and the sea etc. I learnt in a winter diving in UK quarries obviously using a dry suit, etc. So when I did my first dive in the Red sea it felt like a piece of cake in comparison! So if you can learn in the UK will give you a lot of skills but this takes time.

My other 2p’s worth is regardless how you learn is not to rush things through, and get the basics right like bouyancy and been familiar with your kit and also if you can dive with the same buddy as I felt that helped a lot.

I saw a few yellow finned barracuda snorkelling off Menorca last year.

    Just about to go 11-42 ten speed and planning on fitting one of these;

    https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/shimano-deore-10-speed-rear-derailleur-rd-m6000-gs-shadow-626838

According to the specs will work perfectly with 11-42 – unless anyone has experience with suggests otherwise? If it makes any difference, going to fitted to an inbred 29er.

Cheers for the responses – Shimano winning so far as is half the cost of the sunrace. But then the sunrace does look better in chrome black…

Caravan site in Coldingham which pretty certain has camping pitches. Can walk to the beach and coastal path and 5 mins drive to St Abbs and Eyemouth.

With regards what your legal rights actually are in this instance and practical advice on how to resolve your problem, call these guys and get proper advice instead of a combination of individual opinion and ill informed information from a bunch of MTBers…. 😉

Cheers epicsteve. They are to replace stock tektro’s on a Defy which are poor at best.

    It’s a Defy 3 2013, came with Giant branded 25mm tyres.

Vittoria tyres for £12 have a rrp of £20 so I can only assume they will be a better tyre than stock Giant ones?

    Thanks everyone.

Not really wanting to spend £30+ a tyre to be honest. Would some £12 Vittoria’s as mentioned above be much of an ‘upgrade’ to the stock tyres on my Defy?

Already had a look at those but nothing stands out. Just wondering if anyone had seen a bargain recently. Not really sure what I’m buying to be honest as have limited knowledge of road bikes, but the current tyres are a bit shit.

MIL has a Tourneo Connect SWB which will take several bikes whole. They have the 1.0L petrol version, which drives fine even fully laden with Dive kit. Petrol engines are quite rare though, most are diesels.

Surely the newspaper trick leaves ink smears everywhere?(Going off the fact when you handle them it goes all over your hands) Are you lot soaking the newspaper in the vinegar or just using it sparingly?

Not saying this applies to the OP, but the drivers of these type of vehicles seem to be the worse on the road – tailgating, speeding, reckless unpatient manoeuvres and general bullying other road users. Maybe it’s the ‘macho’ Rambo image of the largely completely unnecessary vehicle that attracts the sort of Neanderthal that carries on their general aggressive behaviour whilst out on the road.

Anyway to answer the question, choose the colour that matches the bull bars 😉

As I said I’m sure the OP is a perfectly sensible and reasonable gent and the above stereotypes don’t apply to him. 😉
