It's fantastic! All the properties you need. My wife's got some Smartwool socks and they're phenomenal. Even when her feet are soaking, you won't hear any complaints. I can recommend Smartwool to anyone – Flying Fox Bikes (http://www.flyingfoxbikes.com) are doing discounts on all their clothes this weekend (Alva, nr. Stirling, Central Scotland).

Mine's terrible – too much road biking years ago. Tried chiropractors, physios, the works but now I'm finally starting to get better. Sounds mad but reflexology is really working for me. If I'd stretched out properly from the start, I may be a lot better now and not needing it however.

It's all about the black for me. My Fritzz is too much bike really so I prefer the 100mm Pronghorn for when I've got my wits about me and the 150mm the rest of the time (I'm 5'11" and would fit the 17.5" Trail if it weren't for the short stem).

What's the car Dan? You will almost doubtlessly be able to but it's always good to check brake disc clearance, as mentioned above. I'm not sure it would solve your issue though.

The guy who did my website – http://www.staffhunt.org . You can get him at http://www.scoosh.com

Phenomonal guy, has all the (legit) tricks and knows his stuff. Also is not a geek so has A LOT of business sense. Ask for Tom and tell him Pedro sent you. You will be looking at around £500 methinks.

Incredibly well finished bikes, I was really impressed. Built a Breath up for a mate and it was amazing. Got a deal from Flying Fox Bikes.

Sanderson Breath? Hardly any difference in weight between this and the Life and it's beautiful – really well finished.

Mate's had a similar problem methinks, after reading this. He hasn't been able to get out on his bike for 6 months or so and when he did, the forks would not go down very far, almost as if they were locked out (although they would go down around 30mm).

His bike is not even a year old and hasn't had much use so it's a weird one. Anyone got any tips?

I'd get Gore something, worth the money – my Phantom's over 5 years old and gets some amount of use. I've got an Alp X proper waterproof for when I really need it.

I'm all about the Pronghorn. It's different, it's silly rapid, ULTRA fast on the climbs and yet the fastest I've been on the downhills (admittedly not on singletrack due to the metre rule present instead of a handlebar) while also being the most fun – even I was jumping around.

However, for me I would always buy the 100mm Race with an adjustable fork on the front. It's even faster but the steeper angles will punish you if you're not good enough (which I'm not but it makes it all the more enjoyable) or you want a more relaxing, "all mountain" ride.

That said, the Zesty is a capable machine to say the least and they sell like hot cakes for a reason. Anyone who says they'll get their wang caught is either bigging themselves up or simply hasn't ridden one. Review of the carbon one here

Paymatters? Tell them Pete at Staffhunt sent you – might be extra nice (!). Small company, great customer service so I've continued to use them for my guys and girls.

I don't think you get too sweaty in them and I'm a sweat monster ordinarily; had a Gore Alp X jacket for the last few rides and it's great plus it's been warm but I was fine in it. It'll last for years too (my wife's had one for years).

IPA? What a waste. I love the stuff and I believe Rebus used to drink it around Edinburgh's haunts.

Anyone, anyone? Ideal base and really beautiful – good for walks up Schiehallion or trying a few crazy mountain bike routes.

Me and a few mates were all in Gore gear on Saturday. We all came off at the same bit (it was pretty funny but you probably needed to be there). Pretty major falls but my Gore Alp X jacket was fine. Mate's Cosmo was also fine, and other guy's Phantom II had a slight hole from hitting something that actually went through both layers and into his skin. Believe me, it was brutal and there's no way that'll tear now – I know cos I've done the same to my 5 year old Phantom and it's still fine. I highly recommend them.

I don't care about being discriminated against for not having children. In fact, I like it because I would need all the help available so I could cope with it all.

Right now, I park as far away as possible so my car doesn't get dings etc. (it's old and worthless but I love it!). This doesn't always work though, as there's always someone who parks right next to me anyhow!

You're not discriminated against because you don't have children! Do you get out on your bike from time to time? Do you get your own time?

You're in a very good position and you're not adding to our overpopulation problem. STOP BREEDING!!!

Leave it 8 – it'll save you money. In my opinion (and be horrible to me if your opinion differs) the 8 speed chains last longer.

Gore Countdown? However, if you want fully waterproof then they are thicker than the Alp X, which make more sense to me overall.

I use Gore, full stop. Love them. Phantom II, Oxygen etc. etc. Lasts for years too so worth the extra few quid.
